People who tell me that Palin is smart and that Obama is stupid tell me everything I need to know about their lack of judgment. I can even see people saying that they are both smart or both stupid, but getting reality completely bass ackwards is just partisan BS with a capital B and a capital S!

Was this little rant directed at a specific member or were you simply casting a wide net?
Whether one is smart or dumb tends to be a judgement call whereas facts are facts.

I think she is more interested in celebrity than politics. And not to comment on her appendage ''cheat sheet'' while blasting Obama and his teleprompter seems a bit disingenuous,(to speak Palinese) ''dontcha'' think?

    Not really.
A note is one thing but reciting verbatim what someone else has written for you is entirely different. I see a huge difference in the two.

How do you know that Obama doesnt have a hand in writing his speeches? Do you know for a fact he has no input?

I think the most disturbing thing is what she had written on her hand. It wasn't like it was a speech. It was a few general things. Energy. Tax Cuts. Lift American Spirits. Does she need a cheat sheet for that?

Those are supposed to be her trademark things. She can't remember that she needs to talk about Energy or Tax Cuts? She needs a prompt to talk about lifting up people's spirit?

I see nothing to change my belief that she is an idiot.

I think the real problem with Sarah Palin and her TP ilk, is that they'd rather talk about how Obama delivers a message (via teleprompter) than talk about the message itself. Instead of offering substantive ideas of their own, they would rather talk about teleprompters.

Sorry but I honestly dont get this obsesion with teleprompters and speach writters, you guy's are aware I hope that they have been used by presidents and other politicians since there inception so why the big deal?
Presidents and others have been having speaches written for them since god alone knows when so again whats the big deal?
Anyone would think that President Obama is doing something new!! Well sorry guy's but he isnt.
Now regarding Mrs Palin writting on her hand who's to say she actualy does it herself? anyone seen her do it prior to a event LOL She might employ a hand writter :D I would though be prepaird to bet she has proffesional speach writters available to her.

But that would make her just another politician

It is basically any criticism for any reason no matter how baseless. Obama is the devil because he scares them so much. Palin on the other hand is nothing to be scared of but neither was Hitler prior to his rise to power.

There you have it comes ladies and gents, when you talk about smaller goverment, less socialism, cutting taxes and defending this nation, you are now compared to Hitler...typical liberal tactic of attacking one's character when their own politcal beliefs of larger government, more socialism, more taxes, more regulation and a weak national defense can't be logically nor rationally defended.

    Typical Liberal tactic eh?

I love how Hitler is thrown around the political spectrum by both sides. Bush was Hitler. Obama is Hitler. Plain is Hitler-ette. I don't see how anyone can take comments like that seriously.

Much less go to rallies, hold up signs, and make inane arguments for the similarities between our president and this guy.

Hilter is just the greatest villain in modern history and by comparing anyone to him, you automatically paint a mental picture of "EVIL".

I was listening to James Cornelius, Curator, Lincoln Museum, speak at the launching of the 2010 Lincoln cent event in Springfield the other day and the similarities he drew between Lincoln and Obama were just scary. Both believe(d) that the real problem was/is maintaining the moral high ground while both of their enemies stoop(ed) to the lowest tactics possible. From the day after Lincoln was elected, he began receiving death threats. Sound familiar? A case of poison fruit was delivered to Lincoln's home. Lincoln had to carry the flag of unity when others pleaded with him to let the South go its own way. We are a divided nation these days and Obama speaks of unity. Hitler? I don't think so but the political hot heads whip up their constituencies in much the same way the southern separatists fomented division.

You compare BO to Lincoln? Really? I can't imagine 2 more different souls.
And by the way, Moen, it was you who invoked the Hitler name (see post# 31).

Of course, if Lincoln did a lot of what he did during his Presidency today, he would be condemned as a tyrant and probably impeached by the opposition party while his own party cheered him on and let him go further and further. And that is the real danger of our partisan politics of the day.

Either side is more than willing to condemn the good or embrace the evil depending upon whether it is their guy or not. Anything is acceptable just so the other guy doesn't succeed. That has been demonstrated here on more than one occasion too.

I find it funny that there have been many posts about Palin's perceived unfitness for the position of Prez yet when I post some of her achievements/accomplishments the naysayers don't seem to have a comment? I'll say it again, you can have you own opinions but you can't change the facts.

Like I have said, anyone who can see Palin as qualified to run this country in any capacity over and above the abilities of Obama, is simply so far out on the fringe Right, speaking plain English isn't going to bring them back to reality one bit. Palin is just the latest indication of how low the GOP has had to go to find yet one more useful idiot or should I say how far since they had to go the least populated state in the union and nearly to the arctic circle to find her. :D

Didnt this administration just ok a nearly 700 billion dollar defense budget? I think the military should have a good shopping spree with that.
