What do you think he'll talk about tonight?

My guess is that he is going to embrace some more conservative values such as tax breaks for small business and maybe middle class tax cuts.

I will not be watching the speech or any news shows tonight.

The lefty news will gush over his eloquance, fox will bash it, and all for nothing.

What ever the teleprompter tells him to say, he will say it well and he will say it with conviction, BUT

Everything he says he will do has not been done, his statistics have been proven innacurate, his promises have not been kept, and he has outright lied.

Why watch ? Fook the spin.

I am playing my regular Wednesday night poker game, no politics sports or religion talk allowed :) Got to go hit the bank to get some change and some singles..........

Harry Reid and I have something in common. After about 10 minutes of listening to the President talk, neither of us can stop yawning. ;)

I actually laughed out loud when the cameras caught him trying and failing to stifle his yawning.

    Sad !

    Obama = Progressive = Socialist
It is all he knows and will not back off.
If Republicans think it will be busines as usual they are mistaken also. Independent voters who are basically consevative right are going to make the difference in the end.
Vote out all incuments in 2010 . Send the message !

    My Gawd !!!

I'm am reading the left and right sites, ALL the talking heads and the radio. I guess it was some speech huh? Chris Matthews even forgot he was getting his tingles up his leg from a black dude. Impressive to say the least.

Catching some clips, I was impressed at how well he speaks, especially about transparency, banning lobbyists, and stong on the budget. He was so eloquent when he blamed his problems on W, and with a silver tongue he so delicatly bashed the supremes.

I do like his idea of drilling our own oil, but after cap and trade how much will it cost?

Just pokin the left here, of course.
    Nothing new guys, nothing new.

Even Huffy is turning on him a tad:

edited to add: I lost about $45 playing poker. Oh well, at least I had fun :)

I saw a president last night that is delusional, arrogant, and pissed off. “I don’t quit. I don’t quit.” That means I’m going to keep governing against you, I’m going to jam my liberal agenda down your throat, because I know whats better for you than you do.
Instaed of moving to the center, he’s showing his true colors because of what has happened to him over the last10 days. He’s mad because he didn't get his health care. He is mad that he lost that seat in the Senate in Massachusetts. He is mad at the people for going against him and not realizing what a great savior he is and what a great thing he is for the country.
He had the chance last night to turn things around. He is still in campaign mode, but now his candidates lose. As his defiance of the American people continue, you will see a lot of packing in Washington come November.

This post wreaks of the same hatred that TomC has for the right. I didn't see any of what you saw.

There was not one thing new, it was old news best I can read from blogs and you tube clips. Same old same old, just as I thought it would be.

W did it, Bill did it, BO did it, it is a campaign speech folks. Preaching to the massive corrupt machine that is Washington DC.

I have yet to see a better liar tho....And I am one who excoriates W and Maverick Johnny.......I hope my thoughts are read as a " conservative righty " who is actually neutral....

I am tired of talking heads and youtube clips.....fook it....nothing has changed. Presidents are corrupt.....deal with it. Presidents lie, Presidents betray.

I will soon no longer Capitolize the word " P" resident.....fook them all.

Can't say as I blame ya. I caught most of it on the endless replays.
I thought it was pretty funny watching Judge Elite-o
getting called out. What a parody of itself the right has become.

It's pretty sad because B.O. believes in the government to fix all instead of the individual. After all, he and his Rev Wright buddies think they are smarter than everybody else so it is pretty natural for him to think this way.

Unfortunately, It is that mindset that government knows best that B.O. is trying to shove down our throats that will drive this country deeper into a socialist (gimmee-gimmee-take-care-of me) mindset.

Liberals today don't ask what the goverment can do for them (a la JFK), they DEMAND it!

Just watch, depending on what happens in this country over the next few years, 2 parts of BO's speech will become history....the aggressive attack on the Supreme Court & his demand that Congress present him a "jobs bill". BO is overstepping his authority & trampling on Seperation of Powers. Now if BO just fades away into obscurity (which is the most likely scenario) this probably won't be an issue BUT if this power grab by the liberal elite actually works, this speech could very well be the piece we all look back on and say "all the signs were there".

Oh wow, just when we think you've sunken to the depths of stupidity & irresponsibility.....

Do you realize that the prez chastising the Supreme Court over a ruling, in the forum that he chose to do so (and using an unrealistic, alarmist example) is dangerous to our political system? It's like jury tampering on steroids. It goes beyond elitist socialism, it's the ultimate Big Brother intimidation techique, it's like he was daring the court to ever decide case & issue a verdict he disagrees with.
I do have to commend Alito for having the courage to let his opinion be known though! BO had to see him...shows the total & utter lack of respect so many have for BO.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the Obama administration brought up the supreme court decision in order to stress the the legislature that they must take action because he feels that the Court decision is not in the best interest of the country? It has nothing to do with criticism of the court or a power play to disrupt the separation of powers. The courts interpet the laws. In this case, the court's decision showed Obama that the law is broken and needs to be fixed. He used the State of the Union to bring the problem into specific relief. I don't see a problem with Obama on this issue. I would have a bigger problem if he disagreed with the court decision and did nothing.

Let me be first to point out that I am the first righty here to disagree with the Supremes decision........

    BUT

Obama flat out lied, and misled with the context of his speech.

He said it overturned a 100 year thingy.......not true. Read the lefty NYT's....

Also, he said it allowed foreign money to influence USA politics, again, false on it's face. THATS why Alito commented not true, because it simply is not true.

I'll call Alito by his name, not like TomC who cannot refer to a righty without the typical lefty name calling. Very desperate tactic used by those who are perpetualy angry, and self said, against ANYTHING that makes the right uncomfortable. Wow, lots of conviction and principle in that statement. Will live in the archives of PRWE front and center forever.

Those are my only 2 comments on that part of the speech.

And, with BO piling up so much foriegn campain doners and cash, why would he bring up so much of a so easily dug up history?

The more I watch this speech, I see many points he nailed dead on, and many that he just flat out lied and misled. It is good being in the middle. My eyes are open.

Only one "point" you made here that irritates me Jack. I've seen it being addressed in other threads.
It's the abuse of the word TYPICAL.

Typical Leftie. Typical Rightie. For the most part I don't think anyone here is typical.
Some make "typical" statements after having read their posts too many times. I've seen my share of "typical clembo" remarks from someone that I might consider a "typical idiot" on any given day but certainly wouldn't burden every right winger by comparing them to him.

This is why we get no place fast.;)
