I am stating an apology to all those I have insulted or disrespected in this forum. Perhaps I misconstrued some respones on my comments, or maybe I didnt take this forum seriously enough, or maybe(most likely) I was just a jerk. Alot of times in here I let arrogance overshadow intelligence. And I shouldnt do that. There is no link, but I am sincere. I guess time will tell. (The edit was for adding the t in event. No other reason.)
Odd. I have no issues with you Craig. I think you are an intelligent poster here. I think we shouldn't take things too seriously here. There are what? ... less than 12 of us on the heaviest of days and that is counting the spambots like Katdung too. Even if someone were to convince everyone else that that their viewpoint is the One True Way, we couldn't get someone elected to a school board for a one room schoolhouse. Besides, anyone who can be condemed as both a liberal and a conservative - depending upon the person replying - can't be all bad.
I would like to commend Craig for going on record with his post. I too have gotten out of line in the past and will do everything I can to avoid making personal attacks in my future posts. Hopefully, our combined improved behavior will lead to increased membership and involvement in the the forum which might lead to actual political debates.
I commend your honesty and your passion Craig. I'm somewhat in the same boat. I jumpedinto this forum green and very internet illeterate...hell I did'nt even know what a thread was and too embarassed to ask about the lingo. Iwill now, what is BTW Lehigh? I read a whopping 10 minutes of posts and deemed myself qualified to post. I should of read 10 days of posts and then offered my humble opinion. So I apoligize for my disrespect and jumping the gun before thinking first. I don't agree with some of you but respect your opinions. I have learned alot in my short time and hope to continue. Craig, me and you got off on the wrong foot, probably because we are a little alike(God help me)lol. After going back to past posts we agree on alot. BTW is " by the way" I agree Craig. I think all of us have learned a lesson this past year. This forum is among the best on the net as to inteligence and honesty. I think we all share something, most of us are either coin collectors or dealers, so we kinds " jive". I have at times lashed out after a few beers and made myself look like an ass. Meeting so many of you in person has also made the forum more real. I am still an unabashed and hardcore conservative, but have grown much more acceptable and appreciative to the lefty side. We are not enemies, we just have a different opinion. Fair enough. I have learned loads from of many of my " advasaries" and combatants, lol. Most political sites just have hate mail from each side with no real follow up, here we actually have discussions. Lets make our disscusions better.
OK group hug and a few verses of Kumbaya should do the trick. Have I ever been involved in any heated skirmishes here? Absoulutely - it's bound to happen. I'd be lying if I said there weren't some people I respect more than others but on the other hand if someone I generally don't get along with makes a real intelligent (IMHO) comment I'll let them know. I"ve been here a while now and others much longer. We're still here. We've seen them come and go. Some I miss whether or not I agree with them. I have "toyed" with a few other forums and I think AJ nailed it. Nothing but screaming at one another and often laced with profanity. Not real conducive to any type of debate/discussion.
