I think you are right. November is only 10 months away now. They'll all be pissing down their legs from now until then so I wouldn't expect ANYTHING of any consequence to get passed between now and then. There's a tsunami coming.

Now, have the republicans earned the landslide they have coming? No. Who will they put out there? Who knows. But I am willing to give just about any one with a pulse a chance (at this point), compared to what we've had. It almost has to get better from here. I hope people turn things upside down. I'd love to see some career politicians sent packing.

Thought I might just up-date this so Massachusetts has a new Republican Senator Scott Brown (Congratulations to him on his historic victory) but what do I read his 1st major act as Senator is to vote with the Democrats on the jobs bill Now this is the man who railed against the Presidents initiatives, including the $787 billion stimulus bill, health-care reform, gay marriage and big government.
Yet here he is the 1st to support him when the vote was called for this one!!

I do believe that some Republican supporters have re named him Benadict Brown What a way to treat a man who shows that he is capable of free thought like his Democratic counterpart ( Sen. Ben Nelson ) in the same vote

 

And if that doesn't sum up the sorry state of our 2 party system, I don't know what does.

I hear people say that politics has always been partisian but I think it is impossible to honestly say that things have not become significantly worse over the last decade.
