Okay tom, tell me this: Who should make the determination of what constitutes a "tidy profit" and what constitutes a "killing"? Please try your best to simply give us a straightforward answer...try not to include 9/11 or Bush or Fox. Can you try to focus?
This is EXACTLY the mindset that will destroy this country. The free capital society is WHAT built this country. If you have a better "mouse trap", so be it and hence those that risked their own capital, time and effort made this country for what it is. You will always have somebody that works harder, is smarter...you know...remember that kid in your grade school that always got "A"s and it didn't even look like he was trying, and yes, works longer! Frankly...I don't know anyone that is successful and works LESS than 40 hours per week. Look at Bill Gates. I marvel for what he started and I doubt very much people like Gates or others would go through all of the blood, sweat and tears if socialists like Tom had his way. Shoot....look at the Fortune 500 list...almost 2/3's of these companies were not even on the list 50 years ago!! Why? Because of Free Markets and Capitalism. Someone, some company found ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently. Now people like Tom want to dictate what your reward is for your efforts...even if you own stock in a company. It is typical class warfare and comes from people that want and gimmee-gimmee-gimmee somebody ELSE's fruits and labor. Remember...you can NEVER have employees without employers first and foremost. Tired of being an employee? Then go out and work harder, smarter and longer and become an EMPLOYER and run your company how you see fit. If you want to give away all of your profits, so be it!! Rather YOU make that decision instead of people like Tom sitting behind some government office desk.

Sure Davey, be glad to...just as soon as you give me a straightforward to what I ask in my posts. Until then, I'll be selective in what I respond to, just as you and the rest of this brilliant crowd do habitually.
Way to tow the corporate line Midas. This "free capital" society you fantasize about is nothing more than sophisticated bookkeeping and accounting tricks in an attempt to extract more cash from the would be wall street investors (you know...the crap table players that do nothing more than gamble with other people's money). They're no different than losers going to the horsetrack everyday or play cards for a living (no offense Lehigh). What you call "working" 40 hours per week amounts to addicted gamblers going to the track every day. I'm not sure I'd call it work, rather, an adreneline junkee, getting off on squeezing more blood out of the poor slobs that provide them their entertainment. Gambling is not work. It is a perverted addiction to attaining wealth and power. Most of the fortune 500 companies are the result of smoke and mirrors...a house of cards with fractionally smaller assets already in the hands of the few "smarter" thieves. Why do you think the banks are smashing and grabbing now (not lending but insisting on handouts themselves). They're sucking up whatever's left of the economy before the last royal screw job. Think we won't default on our debt to China? What do you think will occur when that happens? We're all about to witness it. The only thing left that resembles movement in our economy are the cockroaches removing the last few crumbs. The last few gambelers using our children's credit cards. Oh and...someone elses fruits and labor? You mean fruits through someone elses labor, don't you? Without labor to extract work from, there are no fruits. It's all profit using manipulated labor, creative balance sheets, and mostly screwing the other guy first. That's America. That's capitalism. That is the fog of reality that cannot be sustained for much longer. The working slob and their future generations families are already suffering from the forfeiture of their future, and I applaud the day when it catches up with the rest of the "business" world, and they'll fall the farthest because they have farther to fall. Hopefully they'll permanently break something when they hit the ground, and I personally look forward to that day, then God wiping the whole mess clean and starting again. God iand his judgment is something the corporate criminals can't manipulate, and he is the only possible solution to the irreversible mess that's been created.
Sure Foxer...told ya..as soon as you answer my posts regarding 911. You having that 'selective vision' problem again, seeing only what you want, or do lemming eyes only work on even numbered pages?
I think I've made myself chrystal clear regarding your 9/11 postings. Your "theory" is delusional paranoia concocted by people who would do/say anything to make the US look bad. A conclusion was drawn & they backtracked through the information to make "evidence" fit the theory...it's an age old trick. They sucker naive idealogues into their web by crafting a story full of convoluted & questionable "scientific" reports drafted by folks on the periphery of real science or knowledge. Who could really dispute some of what they say with historical facts? When was the last time an airliner crashed into a high rise building? How does anyone really know how a structure will react? You call Bush an idiot but you can't have it both ways. If he were able to perpetrate this far reaching multi-country, multi-government, multi-agency master plan in a relatively short period of time (and keep it such a secret) he would have to be the smartest man in the history of the world. Now that the misdirection has been handled, back to business. You claim limits should be placed on a business' profits. Who will determine the limits? C'mon, we're waiting!
Hey genius. You haven't answered ANYTHING. You RESPOND intermittently, with usually a general sweeping statement like "I don't believe it".."It can't be"..or "How could that have happened". You don't actually consider ANYTHING other than to dismiss it without even considering the actual possibility of whether or not something might actually be true. That's not answering. That's presumptive ignorance. If you find a dead body with a bullet wound in it's head, inside of a sealed vault, do you dismiss the fact that they're dead because you don't see out how somebody could have gotten inside the sealed vault to place dead body there? Or even that they've been killed? Because that's what you're doing. Dismissing easily verifiable and inarguable evidence based on faulty assumptions or conclusions. That guy can't be dead, because the guy with the gun says he isn't dead. Oh...ok. If you say so. Same damn thing. You'd do better to start with the known, provable results and weighing those results against the possibilities of how it got to be that way. Prove to me that NanoThermite WASN'T found in WTC's dust that was everywhere after the towers were imploded. Prove to me that Steven Jones doesn't know what in the hell he's talking about. Prove to me how building 7 fell straight down in free fall speed 8 hours later. No planes or jet fuel to blame that one on. Answer is YOU CAN'T. Prove to me ANYTHING I've posted as fact is false. You can't.
Ok, Tom- it was an inside plot. There. Now to the business at hand. You said corporate profits should be limited (I think you called it "rape"). My question to you is: Who do you propose should dictate what constitutes a reasonable profit for a business & what constitutes "rape"? (Remember, you will lose any shred of credibility if you fail to clarify your own statement)
Like I said...if you can somehow argue with a liberal, they will jump from one idiot point to the next with the intention of avoiding your simple question. It is like arguing with someone with A.D.D...unless it is about your looks and the fact you are a conservative.
David. Certainly NOT the businesses constituting the rape. The foxes shouldn't be watching their own hen house. There. Now back to the business at hand. 911 was an inside job killing Americans, and was used to justify everything from attacking and invading a formerly sovereign country, that had NOTHING to do with 911, to stripping the constitution of any effective legal protection of Americans, effectively wiping their corporate rear ends with it, to completely destroying whatever was left of the American economy or to even limit the raping and pilfering of "non corporate" Americans and permanently effectively enslaving current and future generations. (Remember, I lost any shred of credibility I ever had several hundred posts ago..if you need verification, read Lehigh's previous posts. Far as clarifying statements..I've served the ball many times and apparently noone is capable of hitting it back, and clarifying anything to you personally..and especially to you personally.. is obviously an exercise in futility) Leading a horse to water and not being able to make them drink it and all that LAST COMMENT NOT HELPFUL
Yep, that's what I thought. Typical, typical loud mouth lib- you shoot your mouth off then won't (or can't) back it up...and I'm not even asking you to post links or read cite something from the 'net, I just asked you to clarify what you were advocating. Can't do it, huh? That's what I thought.
Come on Tom...you want to dictate how much and how little people can make so who do you propose should dictate what constitutes a reasonable profit for a business & what constitutes "rape"? This should be good...
Not to change the subject Tom, but your statement that "gambling is not work" is not accurate. Keep in mind that I am not a professional gambler. I work in a casino and play winning poker to support my coin collecting addiction. However, I am surrounded by both losing gamblers and winning gamblers everyday. Your statement should have been "losing gambling is not work" because there are people who are capable of making a living gambling. Most of these people play poker where there is no house edge, but some can do it playing blackjack and gaming tournaments as well. Those that make a living gambling usually work very hard. I am not talking about the celebrity poker players who have endorsement deals and other sources of income, I am talking about the lower level poker players who depend upon their poker winnings to survive. These people work extremely hard and must maintain a level of personal discipline that you wouldn't believe. As far as the corporate gamblers, you may very well be right about them. My point is that I consider it an insult to compare those corporate gamblers to professional poker players.
Didn't mean to insult you Lehigh. (least not that time) I actually love poker. It's kinda like life. Constantly evaluating your opponents and trying to figure out how to get them first. Gambling is a poor way to represent society however. It's a hobby/past time (or at least that's what it should be). Most people who gamble successfully for a living usually do themselves and/or their families in and eventually, fall off a cliff, or go to jail...or....become corporate leaders!
Asked again...Tom...you want to dictate how much and how little people can make so who do you propose should dictate what constitutes a reasonable profit for a business & what constitutes "rape"?
How come you arent ranting and raving about the nearly 700 billion dollars for military build up? I believe you posted that you were worried about your children being burdened with the debt we make now. Isnt that alot of money also? Yet I'm not hearing you speak against that asrtonomical amount.
I don't have that answer Midas. I can admit that I don't know. I DO know it isn't what the elite tell me it is. I would probably start with what the MAJORITY of the population would consider reasonable rather than the elite corporate thieves deciding. That's far from the way it is today. TODAY..the top 3% decide everything for everybody else while exploiting the masses at the same time. Something's wrong with that picture.
