Is it done? I don't think so. May have passed the senate but nothing is passed officially. BTW, what exactly is IT that you mention? What do you ACTUALLY know about the health care bill or do you just know those two words?

The bill has been hacked away at, cut down and watered down to the point where it's a long way from what it originally was apparently. Only way it's getting any votes.

No, I'm afraid that is not accurate. I think you're giving old Bill too much credit for what was largely a play on words campaign to brag about balancing the budget and controlling the annual federal deficit. That's a long way from paying down any pre-existing national debt. If there was a surplus it was very minimal and nobody, dem or republican could have sustained it for 10 years or more.

From what I've read, the annual budgets he put together were largely paid for by cutting the military down to nothing (and neglecting them), and with social security money.
The last real cent that was in the social security fund was spent during Clinton's administration. Obviously, those crutches couldn't be relied on by following administrations, in order to balance the budget. I know it sounded good but every time somebody brings that point up, they never ask HOW it was balanced.

Deficit spending is a trillion a year now. Meaning they need that much more than tax revenue coming in to pay for everything! So now they could cut 1 trillion a year from the budget (which could never happen) and they'd still spend every penny of tax dollars coming in, while interest on existing debt increased. They really can't fix it now unless they clamped down, did their jobs, permanently cut spending, AND taxed us all into oblivion for decades. Way too painful. Doesn't get anybody re-elected. Thus, it will never happen.

I don't care if they hack 80% more of it. Long as it's passed, there then would be a bill to work from. The left adds things the republicans still don't like, and the right fights tooth and nail every step of the way.....while the masses watch...Bye, bye, to men like Ann Coulter and the rest of the republicans.

Nope...I don't know what's in it. Billls are amended all the time. I'll look at it after it's passed and give the dems the forum to amend, amend, amend. All will be revisited and amended. Changes the majority of american people will like, and the republicans will hate. Beautiful baby beautiful. Bottom line is it gets passed.

Personally, I think public debt is much more damaging to our sovereignty and liberty than what the government owes itself. I think intergovernmental debt is only most damaging to social programs (like social security)...most of which are not sustainable anyway.

As far as the military...I served under Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and a little bit of Obama. My personal experience is that we were doing ok in the military as far as money and resources for what we were tasked to do until Bush II. Others may differ but that was my experience.

I'm learning that ignorance is the preferred choice of our citizens. Just following the lead.:D

Do you mean the 60-40 majority, the 257-148 majority or both. :D

Geez...well I dunno. I guess which ever majority believes 2 beards and a box cutter can outsmart our military for a few hours?

So, what part of the Senate healthcare bill is your favorite?
I just watched Claire McCaskill being interviewed on FOX & they pressed her to answer the same question. Her response? The part of the bill she was most proud of is tax relief to small business and the creation of competiton in the system and protection of the free market- that's from a liberal democrat. Think about it, the only thing she could think of were the 2 conservative components.
One more thing- you could only catch that sort of questioning on FOX...you would never see that on MSNBC, the networks, your celebrity blogs or entertainment magazines, they would be too busy celebrating the addition of even more gov't control of our lives.

I'm pretty sure those guys at Fox consider themselves celebrities also. What I want to knoiw is; who is going to issue the fines to those who do not have coverage? Will there be Health Police? Or is the M.D. you see going to report you?

What sickens me now, is that the " right" did the same thing in 2003, and now are against this " unfunded " and tax raising bill. Bushes 2003 Medicare expansion and give away was not at all opposed by the same senators who are now screaming bloody murder.

Might that be defined as hypocrisy??

Fact is that any government run (look at other socialist countries) heathcare has NOT reduced costs, has NOT improved quality of care, and has NOT made medical care more accessible to its citizens.

Just look at the DMV...this is what government run healthcare is going to look like:

Then this is what happens when the health care bill is defeated.

Funny, I see the fat guy as the government and the little guy as we the people when the health-care bill passes.

I guess it really is two different mindsets cause I see this also depicting a perfect portrayal of corporations, CEO's, and the poor slobs having to survive off of the leftover crumbs after "business" has extracted their cut and after their downsizing, pay freezes/cut, and other greedy ideas.

Heaven forbib if a company makes a profit and share holders see their stock holdings increase. We need the government to tell us how much each of us will earn, where we can eat and where we can live.

    That would make Tom happy...

I think it is mostly in how we view the government. I view the government and its politicians as a fat and bloated entity, pigs at a trough. Bigger and more corrupt than any corporation ever known to man and interested only in its own survival, expansion and maintaining control over its subjects - most of whom gladly worship at its feet.

Others see it as a lovely panacea for all the ills of the world.

Just 2 different mindsets on it. ;)

God forbid corporations only ever make a tidy profit rather than a killing. God forbid CEO's give up an extra zero in their rape bonuses and "cost cutting" destruction methods in lieu of some of the other poor slobs be allowed to earn a decent living. God forbid "enough" would ever replace "MORE". God forbid "business" could ever mean many share in the prosperity rather than the few criminal pigs.
I am confident though that God will serve up justice very soon, because it simply can't continue as it is. I will pray to expedite that day.
