So you think we should withdraw? fair enough point of view. Personaly I still believe we should have hit them hard in the begining not all the pussy footing around that we have gone through. I also still say we should have sent in Special forces with orders to take out any and all leadership and comms. This is just my opinion but I do believe we have basicly wasted the time since 2001
Yep. We sure did waste time. We shouldve FPLed that country eight years ago. No doubt it wouldve been criticized, but it would be over now and fogotten. Withdraw? Oh yea. And with haste. And giving those poppy growing ragheads the finger as we leave.
I think that everybody who is pro "bomb the hell out of them" mentality should be required to have all of their children be the first to serve on the front lines of any advancing offensive measure. When they serve their 4 years (or however many extended years the government deems need be), then I'd consider their opinion on whether we should send more. Let them be first in line. I bet they'd try and find another solution.
It's hard to believe I have to come into another thread like this at the end of 2009 and make statements I was saying in 2003.... People can say Afghanistan is going great or it's going badly and still nobody really knows. Without an objective or a real enemy at a real location that can be pursued and eliminated (be it 2003, 2009, or 2025), the answer is obvious. It's a default answer as easy as 1+1= 2. No objective. No purpose in being there any longer. Everybody go home. Don't send another penny to the s#it hole ever again. We take one QUARTER of the money being spent on both occupations and add it on to current domestic security spending indefinitely. Our security problem would be solved. Instead, we have to find a reason why 1+1= 3. And spend trillions doing it to still be left with nothing in the end.
To me 'Bomb the hell out of them' = no advancing front lines needed. It means...you have intel on a terrorist training camp or that they are holed up in the mountains...send a predator or a stealth bomber loaded up and unload on it. Otherwise, leave them be and let them kill each other to their hearts content. I am not for any more troops on the ground there. Nor am I for staying there at all. Hell, I don't even want our troops in Germany or Korea, let alone Afghanistan. The place is a crap hole and personally, when I was there, I wasn't left with the impression that it will ever be anything but that. It is certainly not worth any American lives.
We dont need to send more troops to bomb that place till only crickets chirp. Just bombs. But, its too late now.
That's part of what I'm saying. Bomb em..Ok. Make the big whigs fly along and help out. They can ride in the back and pleasure themselves to all the bombs dropping. Either that or you send your kid....not mine, or anybody else's kids either. The profiteers families FIRST, or themselves if they have no children. You like war baby, hey, go get em....show us how it's done. Sarah Palins girl should go over there, maybe lose a limb or something, then be denied VA benefits when she gets back.
Actualy Tom it's not a case of liking war it is a case of keeping those I class as my comrades safe. Having served in the British Army I have a idea as to what it is like. We had the oppertunity before the invasion of precission strikes against key targets, we could have removed most of the country's infrastructure and leadership with a lot less loss of life on all sides compared to what has since taken place.
I agree. President Obama and Michelle should be there on the front lines for every campaign with the 35000 new troops he is sending over there. And Sasha and Malia can fly along on every bombing run or every helicopter mission. I don't think they should be on the ground with the troops. Flying air combat is good enough until they get a little older. And I am sure Biden and his family can go along with the President on the front lines along with every other Democrat (and their families) who now, suddenly, doesn't have the cajones to loudly and publicly protest, block funds or whatever it takes to stop this President sending more troops.
Palin's son was called up & sent over there with the AK National Guard...WHEN PALIN WAS GOV! Another case where she talks the talk & walks the walk. Next!
The national guard huh...What'd he do? Guard the $20 a can Pepsi machines Haliburton installed at the airports?
OOH...a Lawyer...NOT an infantryman on the front lines. First to the front lines is what I suggested. Huge difference between a lawyer and an infantryman. Mommy will make sure he stays safe I'm sure. --Hey I though republicans didn't like lawyers??. Oh wait..long as they represent only them in their criminal activities, that's cool I guess.
Yeah I know. Tort reform to limit liability so that it becomes a better "business" decision to gamble whether someone will sue them or not, and if they do sue.,it can't be for too much, thus making the risks to it's potential liabilities "minimal", thus, a good business decision. Hooray once more for corporate America and it's partners in crime, the republicans. That what the republicans are always big on guns?
Im saying palin's son needs to go to the front lines...and then her daughter too...That would be walking the walk,.
Palin's son volunteered to join (he didn't have to). I'm sure momma could have pulled some strings to keep him home when his unit was activated but it didn't happen. As far as his duty assignment goes how do you know where he is stationed? How do you know what he does there?
Us your google genius. Mommie wants to be president (hilarious I know but...) Mommie doesn't want to be seen "pulling some strings". She was already in hot water for pulling strings in Trooper Gate. Son goes. Makes mommie look good (loosely speaking). Mommie "asks" for "no front lines" before he joins. Son happliy runs away from mama to the military. Something like that. The lemming right dreuls when she runs.
