Just asking. I mean it could go either way at this point. I do not want a lot of static about how this plan sucks or that plan sucks, but do you think any plan will pass and be signed into law?

Good question. I suspect a face saving something or other might pass. The Dems are commiting cannabilism right now, it does not look good.

I heard Chuck Schumer on the radio today in his own words saying they will keep having votes on this until something passes because they feel it is that necessary. In other words, they will keep voting on B.S. until they cram it down everyone's throats.

Thank God for him!!! How he keeps getting re-elected is unbelievable to me. What a bunch of dopes.

I think a plan will pass. What it will be and whether it will be any kind of actual reform is the unknown.

However, yes, I think the Dems have done themselves a lot of harm in the process...including wounding their President politically.

I agree, BO should get back on television and pump those numbers back up, another prime time speech is about due...it has been about a week.:D

Maybe he should go on Dancing with the Stars, splice him into an ER rerun or something. I got it, Americas got talent !!!! American Idol !!!

Think about it. Thats the state that fell foe the carpetbagger . Not once, but twice. Remember the line " I am not interested in being president, I want to be a senator from NY "

NY is along with CA and WA, amongst the most liberal states in the union. I pity them. Look at the taxes and cost of living in those 3 states compared to rest of the US.

The cost of living is high in those places because they are desirable places to live.(you know like a nicer car or front row seats). Ever been to the Adirondacks? Or Motaulk Point? in NY Or Big bear in CA? I know more people would rather live in Bisbee, AZ, but everyone cant live there. And what you call the most liberal others might call a live and let live attitude.

 What!? We must not read the same material.

"The Census Bureau measured domestic migration – people moving within the United States – from 1990 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2004. The report provides the number of people moving into and out of each state and the 25 largest metropolitan areas.

The states that attracted the most new residents: Florida, Arizona and Nevada. The states that lost the most: New York, California and Illinois." This has been a well known fact for years.

    Here's another:

Whats your point? Does that mean more people live in Nevada than in New York or California? I dont think so.

The point is, it would appear that Nevada is gaining while the people who can get out of NY, CA and IL are getting out. Hard to calculate how many more are stuck there. CA is net losing millions of people a year? But why? It's a liberal Meca. It should be bliss for people.

Could it possibly have anything to do with it's cities been overcrowded, dirty and with a hefty crime ratio compared to Arizona which in comparison to LA, NY, etc is fairly empty
Consider that in 2006 Arizona had a estimated population of just over 6 million while LA alone was around 3.8 million, New York 8+ Million while Phoinix has a population of just over 1.5 Million sort of puts things into perspective a bit dont it

California poppulation tops 37 million, Nevada poppulation just over 2.6 Million :D Florida just over 18 Million, Arizona just over 6 Million so in essence that one state has a larger poppulation than the oother3 combined LOL
Illinois stands at nearly 13 million with nearly 3 million of them living in Chicargo

Chicken or the Egg? Which came first...the festering, overcrowded cesspools that the largest US cities are or the liberal bastions that the largest US cities are?

I know that Detroit is pretty bad, but NYC LA and Chicago and San Francisco (the most liberal large city in America) are pretty nice. Liberal San Francisco is much nicer than conservative Salt Lake City.

I personally think Chicago is a pit. But, if Detroit only registers a Pretty Bad on the your yardstick, you probably do rate Chicago a lot higher than I do too. lol

Well just a quick check on the political make up of Califonia since it became a state shows this

    Governors of California
    21 Republicans
    15 Democrats
    2 Other

    14 Republican class 1 senator
    13 Democrat class 1 senator
    1 Other

    7 Republican class 3 senator
    9 Democrat class 3 senator
    1 Vacant

So which party is to blame?

The representatives appear to be fairly evenly split over the same period

They also have the singular "honor:rolleyes:" of giving the nation one Ronald Wilson Reagan

I'm pretty sure Nevada isnt gaining anything. With nearly 10%, unemployment its hardly an ideal place to start anew. And you arent talking about the states themselves are you? you mean NYC and L.A. and such. San Jose, CA is hardly dirty and crowded. The same goes for Binghamton, NY.
