Yup...it's all been fixed in under a year. Did you know that if you David, were declared a terrorist, with no proof whatsoever, you WOULD be held without trial? You either want to live in a country that the Constitution guarantees or you don't. Pick one. Oh, pardon me, I see you have already picked one. Hey man. I think David plots against the US. Let's lock him up!!! He don't need no lawyer man!! Trust us. We know what he did. Throw him in jail as a suspected criminal. All hail the Patriot Act! The Constitution don't mean nothin' man! IZ just a piece of paper dude! Remember....trust your corporate officials...after all...they're only looking out for you and yours.
It ain't any corporate officials that pass and renew the "Patriot" Act. It is your beloved government.
Yeah. It actually surprised me when Obama came out for extending what he had called before the "shoddy" patriot act. I thought that might be one thing I could give him a praise on. But, no. New boss. Old boss. Same as.
Obama didn't think twice about jumping to conclusions when that police officer in Boston was accused of being racist but he gives the benefit of the doubt to a guy who ignites a fire in his underwear..on an airplane? A little common sense here? And yes, I would expect to be treated like a criminal IF I WAS ACTING LIKE ONE!! Duh! I've heard accounts of what happened on the plane & I really don't think the terrorist gave anyone the impression that he was just an innocent bystander.
What about if you thought you WEREN'T acting like a criminal? Whomever thinks you might be would be enough? Who needs judges, jurys or lawyers then? Noone with an agenda would ever falsely accuse anyone else of crimes for their own gain...right? Well I think you're acting like a criminal and you should be locked away. I don't need to prove anything then do I? Common sense? It'd be at least, different, if you'd use some on occasion rather than Fox-ize everything.
As a libertarian leaning voter...many of the things he will always want to do as a big government, big spending liberal, I will never agree with on basic principal. But, I had hope for some things early on that I thought he might believe in. I thought, if he was going to spend the money anyway, that he would at least take more care of the people in this economy. But he gave so much to the banks and corporations and not much to people. Being a liberal, I thought he would scale down war and occupation but he is adding to it instead. I thought he would repeal the patriot act, since he thought it was shoddy legislation, but he wants to extend it. I thought Gitmo would be closed by now but it is still going and looks like it will just move in the end. I thought he would have a more transparent administration in regards to legislation but the health care stuff was just politics as usual in that regard. So, yeah, there isn't much left that I could find support with considering he is a hard core liberal and I support mostly libertarian policies. Smaller government, lower taxes, more freedom isn't exactly compatible with most of his actions and beliefs. lol
Stu...again I find it tough to argue with your logic. If only the mainstream right were as thought out as you seem to be, I'd actually listen to their opinions once in a while instead of dismissing them all as Fox watching, thieving corporate criminal rapist lemmings that I do now. I am having a hard time finding the better things I thought we'd be in for with Obama in there. He is a bit disappointing thus far, I admit. I don't really have any allegiance to him other than he's the "non-republican" candidate. I'm just trying to give him a chance rather than condemning his entire presidency as the right would do. They definately have no room to run their mouths, but they do anyway, very arrogantly, which further leaves me to conclude that I made the correct choice between the two electable parties. All I gotta do is picture Georgey or Cheney and I run back to the Obama conclusion rather easily. I'm disappointed with Obama's corporate agenda thus far, but I'll give the man his first term to repair that image. After all, the only other choice are republicans...the open supporters of wealth and Walmart. I also believe the man was dropped into a hotbed of corruption that he may not have been able to resolve as of yet. Time will certainly tell. Two things I know for sure. He's a helluva lot smarter than the retard he replaced, and he can communicate, which makes him able to comprehend what the American people are saying, and communicate back his goals/intentions in a reasonable fashion. Hopefully, he isn't the corporate puppet anyone from the right would assuredly turn out to be, but we'll see. Hopefully he has a better gameplan than he's presented thus far. (aside from pushing the healthcare thing..which we'd NEVER get in ANY form with the other side).
The mainstream right won't ever believe what I believe and neither will the mainstream left. Neither party cares about personal liberty, fiscal responsibility or non-interventionism. Oh sure they talk a good game when they aren't in power. But, they prove the exact opposite each time they regain control. Pigs at the trough beholden to the making the special interests special (and getting paid off by them to do so) and interested only in maintaining power over the people and controlling other countries. As far as Obama, he is definitely more intelligent than Bush. Better looking too and he also probably smells better. But, it all comes down to the old saying of putting lipstick on a pig. I still ain't kissin' it.
NIST?? LOL http://www.prisonplanet.com/nist-wtc-7-report-shameful-embarrassing-and-completely-flawed.html
One of the best government sponsored misinformation sites I've seen yet. Whoops...didn't mean to actually respond to a post. Didn't want to start a new president.
Keep trying there Bucko. Popular mechanics has long since been exposed for the distorted hit piece that it is. Spin the wheel again. http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/august2006/100806popularmechanics.htm
Yawn.... Very entertaining, distracting, evasive....next. Great cartoon...as was Alice in Wonderland, which coincidentally resembles...aaahh never mind.
