Bob Dole is suggesting that Obama present his own healthcare reform bill and the idea makes a lot of sense. Right now there are multiple bills out there and no one really know what each one contains so in order to cut through the confusion why wouldn't Obama present his own piece of legislation? Healthcare does seem to be his signature item and this way he wouldn't have to rely on anyone else to draft the bill he seems so passionate about..when he is trying to explain it, sell it, whatever, there will never be an occassion when he can't fully explain the details.

Uh, maybe Bob Dole is getting too old. Thats why there is a LEGISLATIVE branch and an EXECUTIVE branch and a JUDICIAL branch.;)

If Obama is expressly forbidden to write his own plan then so be it. But with this being such a key issue to Obama & the country why leave any of it to chance?
To paraphrase John Lennon in "Revolution"...."you wanna change the world? We'd all love to see the plans"

Yet Danr In 2007, President George W. Bush appointed Dole as a co-chair of the commission to investigate problems at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, so I would hardly call that leaving public life LOL also he is entitled to say his bit even if he is semi retired it dont make his views any the less valid.
