What do you think about the Obama administration asking citizens to forward "fishy" (Obama's word) emails to the White House for review? I believe it was Robert Gibbs who claimed they were only interested in "misinfomation"
Getting citizens to rat on other citizens? Taking over industries? Socializing healthcare? 32 unelected "czars"? Redstibuting tax money to aid people in purchasing houses & cars? Getting kinda scary!!!!!!

Don't pay attention to the news Danr? Rush Limbaugh broke the news to me a couple days ago, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it either. The MSM glossed over it so casualy that you wouldn't have known what they were talking about if you were even paying attention.

It was in the whitehouse blog yesterday if you want to go read it. They are looking for informants to rat out people spreading "misinformation" (a.k.a an opposing view of the healthcare plan).

You can report abuses to flag@whitehouse.gov now.

Kind of funny, I heard Sean Hannity on a commercial today say that he wants everyone to report his program to that link and say it sounds "fishy" as they put it. And that "they all should listen to him 3 hours a day and find out what's going on."

Does anyone else sense a pattern here? Or am I just imagining things? It seems that we're being gradually exposed to this kind of stuff which seems so trivial right now. As will probably be proven by everyone who posts after this saying there's "nothing to worry about". "What's the big deal."

Yeah, they can just keep turning up the heat until before you know it, there's bubbles forming on the bottom of the pan. Pretty soon it's a roiling boil. But then it's too late.

It leaves me wondering what's next? What will they want citizens to rat out on each other about next? Has this been common practice in the past? I know Bush wanted citizens to be on the look out for suspicious looking vehicles or people around infrastructure, but I don't recall them wanting information about ordinary citizens opposed to his views or bills!!

Soooo, lets hear how trivial these new actions by the administration are!

lol Sure. I'll hold your hand even though I told you where to find it. I know you were hoping so bad there wasn't one and that we're just making it up so you can find a way to take a shot at Rush but it won't work this time.

    Facts Are Stubborn Things
    Posted by Macon Phillips

Opponents of health insurance reform may find the truth a little inconvenient, but as our second president famously said, "facts are stubborn things."

Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to "uncover" the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions. (How could anyone do that? Nobody knows what they are?)

In this video, Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, addresses one example that makes it look like the President intends to "eliminate" private coverage, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. (Well what is the truth? He campaigned on a stance that said he would work tirelessly until everyone was covered under a single payer system? Rush played audio of it. So which should we believe??)

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry. (Ok, WHAT ARE THEY!?)

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

The Federal Misinformation Bureau powered by encouraging citizens to rat on other citizens, monitored by a czar? C'mon danr, it's gotta concern you a little.

Exactly the response I expected. "It can't be bad!"

You're a lazy, complacent Obama lover. You're a lemming. Your opinion is of no valuable use.

If you would take the time to read the bill, you just might find that the 'angry mobs' are right and it is the whitehouse itself trying to spread misinformation. At the least they are giving nothing more than vague information.

Lets back up and not even get into details here. We both can admit that this is a very complex system that needs to be analyzed thoroughly by everyone before it passes. Lets verify that things are right and that it can work. This is MAJOR!!!!! Not just some stimulus bill that can be rammed through and, oh well, we wasted a few million here, a few million there. This will affect everyone's lives and personal bank accounts forever!

********If Obama had his way, this legislation would have been rammed through weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!********

Democrat or republican, WHY are people willing to assume that something drafted this fast is SOOOO GOOD and there can't be a thing wrong with it because it's what Obama supports!?!?! Why does this need to be rammed through like everything else? He doesn't even want people discussing it. An opposing view needs to be 'reported' now.

    People need to wake up!

If you will also notice, as details trickle out, we have democrats that are dropping off and losing faith in the bill. They're losing their own on this and they know the longers it's delayed, the worse it will get.

You see, I don't think Obama gives a damn about what they're doing. I think he's really only interested in adding stars to his resume. Talking points for the next election. He nominated this worthless, unqualified Sotomayor to the supreme court. She should not be there. But Obama can now claim to the hispanic community next election that he got the first hispanic onto the Supreme court. Surely that will gain some votes. If they can begin implementing socialized health care and everyone feels their covered before around the end of his term, (before they realize how bad it is) that will surely win over votes from the poor. You can read this guy like a book.

Consider this: If the legisaltion was the least bit beneficial or responsible it would easily be signed into law- THE DEMS CONTROL WASHINGTON, remember? With his super majorities Obama can get anything he wants passed, so what's the hold up?

    vess1 "Birds of a feather...."

That's what Rush keeps asking almost every day. But they're trying to turn this into a political war and blaming the republicans and the insurance companies for the opposition.

I've never been contacted, much less paid off by an insurance company. But I could go to one of these townhall meetings and if I only asked tough questions, I would be lumped in with the supposedly "organized, angry mob".

That's where the average American citizen stands at this point.

I guess it is just a matter of trust. I trust Obama, I did not trust Bush. When Bush pushed through the Patriot act I was writing the same type of posts that you are now writing.

At least the Patriot Act was rooted in national security & passed into law via non-partisan support (and continued by Obama). What Obama is asking people to do now is report citizens who are opposed to his policies...see the difference? Is the fog starting to lift, danr?

This is really starting to play out like a movie with Obama as the sinister villian, bent on controlling the world.

    HOW!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

Have you ever listened to sound bites from this guy from 2001 on? I don't think I've EVER seen any other politician in my lifetime that has had more double talk, vague answers or flat out lies. Nobody beats him. I don't know how you could deny that fact if you tried!

I still don't know how he got elected. Unfortunately for me, it appears most of the population is brain dead.

  16. De Orc

Well he got elected because the Republican party failed to put forward a viable candidate, it realy is that simple. A short while back some of you attacked me when I said that there was no way on earth that Pelosi or any one could force through a bill if those who vote on it did not want it, yet here we have them holding out in exactly the way I said LOL
Now as for this sending emails LOL it is a joke any one with a single brain cell can see how to defeat it also I dont believe it is law either so whats the big panic just ignore him

You are still defending Bush and the patriot act, and I am still defending Obama and healthcare. Looks like I was right.

Obama is on the same level as Clinton as a politician (or better). I saw him speak in person, he is probably the best speaker of the last 50 years. In addition to that the Dem party machine ran a flawless campaign. Obama won that election and would have won against any Republican put forward.
