How can these pathetic right wing terrorist bloggers be so consistently wrong. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/05/news-flash-car-dealers-are-republicans.html http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2...most-certainly-NOT-targeting-GOP-auto-dealers http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/0...-dissident-car-dealers-mocked-by-white-house/
Conservatards? Terrorist bloggers? With a post like this, you just show yourself to be the same as them rather than in any way different. Two sides of the same, overly worn coin. Too damaged to even grade a Poor.
I am just having some fun with it. When I saw another forumite posting this discredited story I literally laughed out loud.
Depends upon how you look at the story, I guess. Any time our politicians own the businesses, they are automatically suspect of political decisions. Car dealers are an easy target then because they are all Republicans. No political loss there in driving them out of business. They don;t donate to the proper party, after all.
The right wing bloggers were stating that they were targeting Republican car dealers, they neglected to say that they are almost all Republican. They were not saying that they were choosing to target car dealers because they are almost all Republican. Anyway it is simply a fact that there are too many car dealers, no one denies that (even car dealers themselves must admit to that one).
But someone is going to have to explain to me how it save the car companies money to close dealerships. I always thought the car dealers owned their own building, etc. Paid for their own employees, etc. And I thought they bought the cars from the car company...paying for them before they are delivered. Is that not the way it is done?
I can say this. In Scottsdale (a suburb of Phoenix) they used to have about 20 huge dealerships (by huge I mean like a quarter mile long for just one, they had jag and Hummer Mercedes and the exotic sports cars) along a road called McDowell. It is called the motor mile (though it is longer than a mile) and it is THE place in Arizona to buy a car. Well I drove along McDowell not to long ago and about half of those dealerships are totally gone, the lots are empty and the buildings deserted. Obama did not do that, Wall Street did.
And that is the way it should be. If they can't stay in business because there are too many of them or they can't make money, they should go out of business like every other company. And they would go out of business like any other company if they were failing and couldn't weather the economic times. But they should not be closed by a President. Makes you wonder - well, not you I am sure - but it makes me wonder why the President closed them if they were not bad enough off to go out of business on their own. Hmmmmmm. And that still doesn't tell me how closing dealerships (who as far as I can tell pay their own way) saves the car companies money.
In truth that is not at all relevant to the point of the thread. The point is that Obama did not pick Dem dealers to survive and republican dealers to close as the kook right wing bloggers accused.
Ahhh. Not relevant to the point of the thread. lol That sounds like a Presidential news conference line. Throw in a few 'Uhhh, uhhhh, uuuumms' and you will be ready to take your impersonation to SNL.
Obama did not pick and choose what dealers to cut based on their political affiliation. That is what the kooks accused him of and he did not do that.
dan is correct, i drive that monthly as i set up in scottsdale at the coin show, this started happening long before obama. as for the repo only closings, this sounds like something that gasbag limbaugh or lapdog hannity would say.
Conservitards, I LOVE IT I just wish I could think of something so clever to call the libs I'll try an old one: DemoRats
If what you are saying is correct & the majority of dealers are Conservatives, perhaps it made Obama's decision to get involved in something he had no business involving himself that much easier to make and that much more palatable to the left wing socialists he serves.
Of course that is it He thought to himself I will get Chrysler to aproch my goverment and ask us to bail them out so that I can then stick a pin in a list of dealerships who have supported the other side and close them down It all makes total sence now Chrysler President Jim Press told Senate lawmakers on Wednesday that dealers targeted for closure as a group had underperformed. He said the company had sold or redistributed virtually all of their inventory.
Geez guys. I know we go at it but all these insulting names! I prefer "people with a different opinion" (in my mind) most of the time. I have never referred to a Conservative as a Conservitard. It's just not right....... because it's insulting to retarded people. Sorry folks. That one just came to me.
sorry about the conservatard thing, btw this does not refer to all conservatives, just those who mindlessly repeat talking points.
