This guy makes a good point about Cheney throwing the troops under the bus.

Did you think Cheney was anything but a professional politician?

Yes I do. He's an evil, rotted SOB basically. I hate him more that Bush.

Ah The Young Turk. Does he bring up good points at times? Yes. Is it all based on fact? No less than opposing views are that get bigger viewings.

Going media again folks. I've only seen him on YouTube myself.

Is he possibly right about Cheney?

''Yes I do. He's an evil, rotted SOB basically. I hate him more that Bush.'' Thats my point. Arent all professional politicians? Dont they all connive and scheme and play both sides in the middle? I'm not talking about the one or two or even three term guy. I mean the ones that are waist deep in it. The lotts and the Reids and the Kennedys and the Hatchs.

...the idea that Cheney is blaming it all on the lowest level soldier and not taking any responsibility seems dishonest since there were torture memos and other documents that show that his admin ordered this.

Cheney IS the lowest soldier. I wouldn't allow him the privilge of cleaning my toilet with his own toothbrush.

The environment that leads to that kind of stuff is fostered from the top. Military discipline rarely breaks down without higher ups allowing it to and creating an environment for it to break down. And that goes all the way to the top with policies as broad as these obviously were.

On the other hand, that does not absolve the 'lower level' people from their role. That female from Abu Ghraib is probably the best example. Military members like that deserve everything they get. Those people knew what they were doing was wrong and, even if they got ordered to do it, knew they were following unlawful orders.
