He doesn't deserve to be commemorated on coins. Time and time again, he has been proven as an outright fraud and a liar. It's apparent that he nor his wife do their homework before going overseas in order to understand what proper etiquette is. Every day I hear him, he comes across as a confused narcissist. Completely lost without a teleprompter, holding no true beliefs but whatever (his perception of) popular belief would persuade him to believe. He is not held accountable by the media, nor the vast majority of his supporters/worshipers. He's an American apologist scared to death of acknowledging our actual Constitution or original Christian founding to the World. (As if we would ever have anything to gain from these countries anyway!)

Anybody who thinks he is the hope and change this country needed is a complete fool. The change he brings will accelerate the downfall of this country.

I'm already sick of bone headed moves (AF1 over NYC), gaffs (reading someone elses speech off the teleprompter), the adoring media (always desperate to laugh it up and cover up what's necessary) and I'm sick of hearing about gay marriage B.S!! That's not what we need or should be caring about. It's unimportant B.S. I'm sick of stupid Americans with their heads in the sand.

Not many people left with the balls to question anything or willing to stand up and support what this country once was. Pretty sad.

I hope the next democratic candidate is 10 times worse than Obama. I'm ready to get this thing over with. Since one or the other is supposedly the only Fing option everybody thinks we have, there's no point in delaying our final dictator. Sooner the better I say!! People are so complacent and ignorant that they deserve tyranny right now.

Maybe it's time to look for a nice cabin in the Canadian wilderness. While I still can.

Some people have said that Bush knew 9/11 was going to happen. Look at this logically it would really make more sense. A few thousand Americans die and we have reasons to go to war. Then we can utilize anthrax scares etc.

"Brain dead Americans" are not all Obama followers. There were a ton of them following the likes of George Bush. A real piece of human feces if ever I've seen one.
It's not just Bush either it's politics and politicians in general that have helped get us into this mess.

Call any Dem you see a Liberal if it suits you but what does it really accomplish? Constant attacks on Obama? What does that accomplish?

Now want results? Get some candidates that are worth a F#%* to vote for. It's that simple actually.

C'mon, Clem. Voicing your opinion isn't necessarily whining. Many of us have a real disgust for the direction Obama is taking our country & the impact it is going to have for our collective futures. It gets kinda old to hear "you listen to Beck" "you listen to Limbaugh" etc every time someone voices their frustration with the current administration. I can assure you that I probably share some of their concerns as well as those of Vess but my fear isn't a result of what others tell me to feel, we just all happen to share the same view on some issues. I have never needed anyone to tell me Obama is bad for our country...I figured that one out a long time ago.

 

What a good thread. I feel Vess's frustration, and it is nice that Clembo has realized that he was bamboozled, shystered, hoodwinked and jived, just as we were with Bush.

My additude is dead these days. I have voted for " conservatives " on the GOP platform, and bluedog Dems........in no way am I a party liner. I was, but no longer, thanks W for the awakening.

What gets me is the cult thing, that I do not understand. I can touch base with you there Vess, the glassy eye'd approval of all things O is rather disturbing. I just heard that MSNBC had to sell the building due to the amount of Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman's DNA on the floor, it became a heath hazard. Worse than a booth at a porno shop.

Hey guys I'm taking a break from CoinTalk. Didn't say anything about PRWE as it actually has been rather interesting and (gulp) civil. So here goes.

I made the Beck comment because I really did feel that Vess went on a huge rant. I can actually tolerate Rush and Hannity to an extent. Beck is out of his mind IMO. Fake tears 9/12 and all.

Politicians are politicians and politician is usually a dirty word. They tend to have personal gains and agendas in mind. Comes with the territory.

Our last election was REALLY messy folks and we went at it a bit TOO hard at times. Jack made a GREAT comment when it was over (I believe it was over). It was along the lines of he might not want this job considering what he's walking into. Correct me if I'm wrong Jack.

I voted for Obama. I think we all know that by now. I had a choice. I could have backed Ron Paul. In 2004 I may have done that.
In 2008 no way I was throwing my vote away. As conservatives fear Obama McCain terrified me. Argue how wonderful Palin is all you want. She's a train wreck on a good day and besides she wasn't running for President.
The mere possibility of "another Bush" was an effective point. Sure, McCain wasn't campaigning as such but don't believe for a second a lot of people and not just "brain dead" people had this in their minds.

So I now back our President. Like he's gonna fix this mess in 100 days? Took a lot longer than that to get it where it is and it was politicians that helped it along. Lining their own pockets all the way. Cripes I sound like an anarchist.

If Obama screws up royally I will not vote for him come 2012. I truly hope the Republican party regroups with some people that may actually have some ideas that may actually work. They really need to work on it though.
IF Obama does really screw up I'll vote Independent in 2012 as I did in 2004 - unless, of course, the Republicans have shown me something by then.

Our two party system sucks. One wins, one loses and it goes in cycles. Long run losers are the Americans that pay for it all.
It's a game. A bad game. The politicians still do okay while the average American always seems to pay the price.

Teleprompters were, and are, bullet-proof glass. And they were bullet-proof first. Somebody discovered that you could project a speech onto them that the speaker could see, but the audience couldn't. Politicians, being politicians, jumped on the chance to read speeches without constantly looking down at the dais.

And I'm of the opinion that this country has never been as Christian as some would have it. Was it, and is it, a nation where the majority of people claim the title of Christian? Yes. Are they, and have they been? That's a debatable point for me, and I would say "no."

 

Now I thought that the USA was founded on the rights of all religions been equal? perhaps I was wrong and it was all religions but Christianity 1st LOL if that was the case which version of the Christian faith is tops

So how many of the original founding fathers were toting around a Quran?? We have religious freedom here and on the other hand we don't. If something can be done for the minority group we cater to them. If someone brings up Christianity in any form, it's a dirty word. If somebody brings up Islam, we have to bow to them and respect their wishes for fear of being labeled intolerant or racist.

Here's how the game works. Other countries can be intolerant and racist against the U.S. But we're supposed to kiss their ass and have a president that apologizes to them and grovels at their feet when they have absolutely nothing to offer us. LOL!

Now look at the Miss America Pageant. I didn't watch it. But I do know that supposedly one contestant lost because of her answer to a stupid gay marriage question, by simply stating that she didn't believe in that because she was not brought up that way. That's B.S. What does that tell the kids? I don't want gay marriage promoted. This administration does. And obviously, many of you are striving for it also. By not caring about it, you are for it. Same as with gun control. If you don't care about it, you're not doing the pro-gun side any favors. You may as well be the enemy.

What brought on the rant? Well, because every time we have an Obama coin thread posted on cointalk, you aren't allowed to say anything negative about him or the coin. Or you get your hand slapped and posts deleted. So I came here to reiterate my frustration with him and give these Obama lovers a slap in the face as to what reality is and has been so far. Seems as though most find a way to gloss over the bad and forget.

I don't have a problem with Glen Beck. He may be a little off his rocker. His show may have gotten to his head and he's as pissed off as anybody about where the country is going. If people wanted to be realistic about our real state of affairs, all aspects considered, a lot of people might turn in to Glen Beck themselves. He doesn't have a chance to be sane. What he's willing to talk about is insane. If this was 1950, maybe he wouldn't have so much to rant about it. The fact that he does have this much to rant about should tell you something.

Obama isn't going to fix healthcare. Even if it was feasible, the money isn't there. DeOrc, are you willing to come on here and say the U.K.s socialized healthcare system is a smashing success and far superior to the U.S.?? I haven't heard you say that yet.

Personally, I don't like the term A Christian Nation. Yes, something like 80-90% of us believe in God and the majority of those are Christian. But talking about us as A Christian Nation makes us sound like Iran. Or Israel. I just don't think that really is the defining characteristic of our nation.

Absolutely correct SJ. We are indeed a predominately Christian nation but religious freedon is one of the principles this country was founded upon.

Labeling ourselves as A Christian Nation is a falsehood. Just happens that when our founding fathers set about this nation freedom of religion was a big deal. Also happens that it was various incarnations of Christianity.
Screw the Native Americans and their beliefs and luckily there weren't a bunch of Quran toting Muslims involved.

Hmmm.. I have yet to bow to anyone that brings up the word Islam. If that's what they believe so be it. They don't bow to me for attending no church of any kind. Been this way all my life actually. Same applies to Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and the list can go on.

Now as for how the game works. Are you suggesting that we, as a nation founded upon religious freedom amongst other things, should start to even more blatantly turn our racism and intolerance toward nations we don't agree with? We can only strive to make it better. No one should go without it but as it stands now those on welfare get better immediate health care for "common" stuff than does the "middle class".
Most people that go into a facility are looking for a shot for the flu, a few stitches, a splint on a broken finger for example.
The "middle class" can no longer afford this if it's tight and it has been. Believe me I know. No insurance and I was sick a few times this winter. I toughed it out and missed a few days of work.
Businesses can't afford it either nor should they. The bottom line is health care is expensive but no one should go without.
Anything that allows me to actually go to the doctor without losing more wages than I would by missing work is a good deal in my book.

Our system is really no better than the Socialists system if you get down to it. The people that do the majority of the work go when they absoulutely HAVE to.

Christian Nation? We certainly were founded on Christian fundamentals..."In God We Trust"..."Endowed By Their Creator"..."One Nation Under God"...swearing in on the Bible? For anyone who claims we aren't a Christian nation, founded on Christian fundamentals I would argue that it is you who is leading us down a destructive path. Before we try to rewrite history here, remember that the settlers came here in order to practice their own version of a Christian religion without persecution, they didn't come here in order to escape religion altogether. Religious freedom- freedom to believe or not to believe, freedom to practice the religion of your choice is important but no more important than being faithful to our founding principles. Our countries framers put a lot of emphasis on religious beliefs, why should we be ridiculed for it now? We have been pretty successful over the years.

 

I choose to believe our nation was founded on Liberty and Freedom not on religion. Freedom Of Religion is a byproduct of that. As is Freedom Of Speech, Freedom of the Press, etc, etc.

Iran is a nation that was founded on religion. That is not my ideal of how a nation should be founded.

 

I doubt any normal person would think that being faithful to a nation is as important as being faithful to God.

 

Nope it certainly is not a smashing sucess Vess but nor is it a dismal failure, if the politicians stayed out of it more and allowed the Dr's to do there jobs without all the red tape (Form filling) it would be a lot better. Have you heard me say that the we would be better of without the National Health Service?
I see nothing wrong with paying if you can afford it but by the same token I also see absolutly nothing wrong with offering the best care possible to all our citizens, they after all pay for the care in part via there tax's.
And if you care to look back through my posts you will see were I told you guy's not to adopt a certain system that we have had running here as it did not work.
