Boy, the campaign promises are sure starting to hit the trash can fast. And what's funny is it's the liberals who are doing the trash talk about Obama. Looks like the Danr's "savior" may just be a "conservative in disguise" afterall. http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20081208/pl_politico/16292
Conservative ? Far from it. Centrist? We'll see. Give the guy a chance, he has not even been innagurated yet. Hope for the best, after all, if he is a good POTUS, we all win, right? Fingers are crossed here. My main gripe is that McCain is running for relection to his senate seat. He has failed this state beyond words. PLEASE the GOP hierarchy, primary this guy and get us a conservative to run against him. JD Hayworth are you listening? ( I know you read this blog because you told me )
I put out in a thread a while back how I thought it was quite possible that he could be a centrist president instead of a wildly liberal one. And I posted the reasons why I thought it was possible. I am absolutely in the 'Give the guy a chance camp.' That is not to say I expect to be thrilled with his presidency or his policies but I just am not ready to declare it the downfall of western civilization. lol A conservative? No way. But we haven't had one of those in a looooooong time.
You know? Think about it. With all the crap thats been dumped in his lap , from Russia and Iran, the economy and bailouts, trouble in Crook County, being tourqued by the Clintons, etc etc etc I think this may be the first election that the winner may demand a recount.
I have said here many times, I believe he is going to regret ever running for president about 6-8 months in. We are headed to hell in a handbasket towards a major economic calamity. Think the news is lousy now? Wait a few more months.
LMAO!! What I've wondered all along. Why? Why, would any sane man want the job? Especially right now. I won't be surprised by anything that happens in 2009. I think we haven't seen anything yet, as far as the economy goes. They predicted what we're in now and they're predicting worse. I fully expect things to get nasty. And he's just stepping into a s#it storm like we've never seen before. You couldn't pay me enough to want to be president. So is the man just a naieve optimist? Or is it a thirst for power that needs to be quenched by doing ________???? Just wait. The novelty of this game he's stepped into is going to wear off real fast. Give it 6 months.
Yeah pot will probably help him over the next 4 years. And booze. Maybe a little blow when he can afford it. Not smack, though.
You're insane. Give it time. He has been labeled the most extremist liberal in the US senate. That is saying A LOT given the lousy, sleezy, career politician, liberal elitists that collect paychecks there. Give it time. This is just the calm before the perfect storm.
Everybody here has failed to mention the " Rahmbo " effect. A loyal Clintonista in the Obama administration. Why is he so quiet? My main disappointment is that Obama had the Clinton machine dead, lifeless and defeated, yet he ressurected it and appointed it to higher office. There are still loyalists. Pehaps a bad move? Why the " Clinton effect " in the new fresh cabinet? A brilliant campaign, a brilliant flawless campaign. Then, a mistake. Could be the fatal flaw.
I suspect it's nothing more than political posturing. He's looking ahead to 2012. Bill Clinton was popular with the group he's trying to attract and stay in favor of. Hillary goes from his arch enemy to holding a position that he can take credit for if it turns out well, or cast her away if it goes badly. Maybe eliminating a strong opponent for 2012. Makes all the Clinton supporters feel better about him because he brought them on board. Nothing more than that. Plus, he probably ran out of people to drag with him out of Chicago. I'm really hoping the country will be better run than Chicago is right now. Prepared for disaster though.
