Why I am Pro-Choice Abortion is one of the most widely debated and controversial topics in our society. Those people who are for the abolishment of abortion are called Pro-life and those that support the right to chose are called Pro-choice. Pro-choice does not mean that you are for abortion; it simply means that you believe a woman should have the right to choose what is best for them. I will now explain why I am Pro-choice using three thought out topics of this debate. My first argument is about birth control. While I will agree that I am not entirely for abortion as being used as a method of birth control, I believe it is really no different than condoms or birth control pills. When a man and a woman have intercourse, they usually use some kind of protection to prevent having a baby. But, when one thinks about it, isn’t it really just as bad as having an abortion? Isn’t one also preventing life to exist? If you are a logical human being, you would have answered yes. Some will argue that when protection is used, it eliminates the potential of creating life, which brings me to my next argument. The argument for what the fetus can become is a good argument against abortion, but still has its flaws. First, every cell in your body has the potential of being a human. Every time you scratch your skin, you have committed a mass murder of what potentially could have been human life. Second, in reality, an embryo is really nothing more than any other animal, and in my opinion, less than any other living animal. The majority of humans have no problem with killing flies, mice, spiders, or other pests. These creatures are far more alive than a fetus. Yet, the majority of us, including myself, see nothing immoral about killing these animals. When these pests are in your house, you kill them. They really did nothing wrong, you just didn’t want them there. The fact is, The fetus has the potential of becoming a human, but it is not yet a human until about eight or nine months in pregnancy. Even if it is a human, the human is really no different than any other animal, and if the woman does not want it, she should have the right to kill it. With that said, what is so bad about killing a fetus if it is just another animal? Some would argue that we are allowed to kill other animals, but not humans because the bible or any other religious text they are quoting says so. However, in order to use that as an argument, you would have to prove that your god exists. If you fail to provide proof that god exists, then there are no supernatural laws for us to abide by. My last argument is a theory I came up with to make the people who are pro-life think. Abortion is used as a convenience 95% of the time. The other 5% is because of rape, incest, or the mother could die giving birth to the child. But this 5% is important and the biggest reason why we should allow abortion to be legal. The morning after pill isn’t enough time for some women, as they may be afraid to tell. Besides, whether you are okay with abortion or not, we should keep it legal. We should keep abortion legal for the better of society. Whether abortion is legal or illegal people are going to do get them done. Whether it is behind an abandoned building or in a hospital, people will find a way if they are determined not to have the baby. With that said, wouldn’t it make since to keep it legal then? If we keep abortion legal, it would also better us to try to find cures for some diseases. I’m talking about stem cell research. If women are going to have abortions, then wouldn’t it make sense to at least use it to our advantage? If you said no, then that is pretty sadistic. I have been told I am for abortion because I am pro-choice. If this is true, you must be for people dying and suffering, all because you think the embryo will feel pain. You come to this conclusion with no back up of genetic evidence. A three day old embryo (known as a blastocyst) has only 150 cells. There are well over 100,000 cells in the brain of a fly, so the chances of the embryo feeling any pain whatsoever is highly unlikely. We can use the embryos from the abortions to help humanity, and if abortion will be done legally or illegally, we should keep it legal for this very reason. From these three arguments, I have explained why I am pro-choice to the best of my ability. While I think some of what I wrote may be a little extreme, I did it to get my point across. Like I said above, I do not promote abortion, I simply believe in a woman’s right to choose. I believe it is not my determination to tell a woman what she can or cannot do. I am not a woman, nor do I play one on TV. This is a matter purely about women, should be discussed by women and should be decided by women. And not someone in the Vatican, or the pulpit, or on TV.

I am Pro-Choice. I do not believe abortion should be used as a type of birth control, but I do believe there are circumstances where it is needed. WHO AM I to tell someone they have to keep something in their body?!
You say that though stainless, but the way I took it in a way is that abortion is a type of birth control. That it's okay, that even if we outlaw it, people are still going to do it. That might be true, but also the number will go down significantly. IMHO, why not wait until the full term, and have that baby?? Why not give that baby up for adoption? One of my little siblings would've been killed, if she didn't get someone to adopt her while she was in the womb. I seriously do not see why a woman has the right to kill, or to give life. I'm not doing this to upset you man, because you are one of my best friends, but I'm just showing you my views. And birth control might be preventing life, but it is not destroying it. Once a woman is impregnated, that living being(s) is living. Abortion destroys life, it kills. The skin cells you scratch off are not human beings, that "fetus" inside of the woman is. Even if they are not full formed, they are still human beings. Religion out of sight for the present moment. No offence man, but you are seriously comparing a rat to a baby? To a human being? Life begins at conception. You can call it a fetus, baby, etc, but it is still a living human being. A human's life is of much more value than a rat's. (Don't get me wrong, I love animals, but humans are on a totally different level) And again, why can't the woman wait until full term, have the baby, and let someone that is looking for a child have him/her? There are many people wanting children, but can't. Why not wait until full term? I honestly don't understand why it is not done like this. That only applies to those BORN in the United States. Its right there. and now through naturalization. But those folks are out of the womb also. If this was world was run by one government and abortion was outlawed. Then so be it. But our manifesto clearly states anyone born in thr United States, etc., etc.. Maybe those against it should be satisfied knowing that now if you kill a pregnant woman you can be charged with killing the child too. That goes against what was written, but oh well.
Frankly I cannot even ponder why abortion is even necessary in normal, and not criminal, circumstances. There are just so many preventative measures easily afforded people if they would just think.

Clearly this means a person born or naturalized. Anything else does not qualify. So aborting a fetus, in the eyes of the law, is not killing the fetus. Hey I personally am against abortion. If it was my child. If my wife felt very strongly about aborting one of our kids when we were younger, I would try to convince her not to. But if she was adamant, I would probably relent. But that is a personal feeling, and not the law of the land. And the law must be objective.
