It turns out that Ayers did not know Obama that well, and Ayers is not a villian

Unrepentant terrorist, distinguished education professor. Tomatoe, Tomatah.

And wasn't it your sweetie Hillary who attacked Obama on the Ayers issue first. It is not like the Republicans were the only ones concerned about Ayers...at least they were not the only ones until Obama became the nominee...only then did the entire left dismiss it.

Aaahhh, so now you're comforted by Bill Ayers words? That's funny because 10 minutes ago, I just got done watching an expert on Hanity & Colmes who has been studying Ayers' association with Obama for some time now and he feels the American people should have a great deal of concern.

So you expect me to believe Obama just picked a totally random guy's house to launch his campaign from? To sit down and have coffee with and share a few laughs? Not to mention that Ayer's called Obama a family friend in his book. Did we watch the same video you just posted???

Face it! Obama has aligned himself with several extreme individuals in his life. He holds extreme leftist views that have been kept well hidden throughout the campaign. His primary goal is to disarm this country and push his radical agendas.

Get your friggin head out of the sand!!! If McCain would have shared a taxi with any of these characters you fools would have been screaming bloody murder.
The right wasn't wrong at all. They were dead on accurate.

So Danr, you're the opposing "expert" on Obama/Ayers associations (after studying that video link) and your "opinion" isn't rhetoric or propaganda at all? I'm sure your opinion has helped everyone here gain insight into their relationship.

Excellent job at running away from the topic. Just take a jab at the credibility of a show, create the smoke screen, and run away behind it. Nothing less would be expected.

    You're right Stu. Worthless thread.

Yeah, Ayers says he & Obama weren't tight...Ayers also claims he & his wife weren't terrorists either. What now?

It sounds like you consider Fox News to be in some way legit? Can you really be saying that?

And this coming from someone who posts links to Huffington Post! lol

LOL! Please, list what you consider "legit". They just happen to have the #1 watched cable news program in the O'Reilly Factor. Whether you like him or not, most of your heroes when called, piss their pants and refuse to come on the show to debate the issues.

I'd attack a popular liberal show but there isn't one. I wonder why that is? My guess? They usually want to keep the truth suppressed and if they ever attempted to look at a situation from a logical standpoint, they'd end up switching sides and going to Fox. There's nothing to become popular because they don't/can't exist.

Hence the Fairness Doctrine...subsidize far left political ideology because no one with any intelligence will voluntarily support it.

    So popularity = journalistic legitimacy?

As I recall Hitler was popular in 1930's Germany, so I guess you like him also?

vess, You'll have to excuse Danr, as he depends on such greats as Rosie O'donnell and 'The View' in his search for enlightenment. You have to realize Fox is an absolute no-no as a source when talking to the libs.

You'll notice there was no answer to your question of what is legit though. Danr uses sites like HuffingtonPost quite a bit, no bias there.
Chris Matthews must be one of his favorites now too, as it is his job to make sure Obama succeeds.

    Vess,

I have watched Bill O a few times and really do dislike him. Not why you might think though.
Going on Oreilly is like walking in for a stoning. If he doesn't agree with you he just gets louder. If he REALLY doesn't like you he has been known to cut the mike on that person.

If one cuts the mike is it a talk show or propaganda?

Anyone remember this? One of Bill Oreilly's crack team trying to get a guest on his show. I sincerely doubt this guy "feared" O'Reilly.

I actually did see how this was portrayed on O'Reilly's show. Yup, edited the crap out of it. Like I was expecting something else?

So now the election is over. Barack Obama has been voted in as our next President. Bill O'Reilly did everything in his power to prevent that. Would that be a fair assessment?

So what now? Will he continue to attack everthing Obama says and will this help or hurt our country? Might be something to actually think about in the long run.

Hillary Clinton herself said Fox News was the most fair and balanced of all the cable and major network news show. I bet you could find it on you-tube or somewhere else.

O'Rielly is more balanced than anybody, I thought he did a great job on the Obama interview. He lost in on the Barney Frank because Frank sat there and lied to him.

Hannity is a biotch lapdog in my opinion.

So some strong arming went on. So what? You think that doesn't go on at CNN or any other news channel!? All this report did is make me worry about Obama more because what the media fed people got him elected and it wasn't Fox news.

This video is for people like you. People who are dying to have something like this to throw out there at the other side and make them look bad.

Now, if you want the reality of it, watch Cavuto tonight and the following program, I believe called the Score board.

What vicious agenda driven propaganda were they driving tonight?? Live coverage of a G-20 summit being held at the Whitehouse tonight, showing Bush greet the arriving leaders. OOOOhhh how awful! What an agenda!

And can you believe, they interviewed several people that were HIGHLY critical of what's taking place and also HIGHLY critical of Bush himself!! Which also carried over into the next program. A younger guy criticizing Bush for holding this meeting after what he had said earlier at a press conference.
How was this allowed to air!!?

Good luck waiting for somebody who's allowed to speak negatively of Obama on CNN. I mean geez, wasn't CNN and AC the ones who pretended to "not know" that there were plants in the audience that they themselves had flown in for the open mic democratic debate?

BTW, Clembo, I've watched a lot of O'Reilly and I've never seen him cut off the mic on anybody. And anybody he raised his voice at, that I've watched, deserved every bit of it and then some. That's not just agreeing with him for the sake of it. It's called having principles and emotion.

So what's the answer? Should we not expect that there may be news organizations with opposing views? There's almost no such thing as objective reporting anymore so what can we do?
Would we be better off if we had 10 news organizations like CNN all praising Obama, covering up anything he does wrong, and willing to hide the truth so it appears as though everything is great?
Yes, I fully expect O'Reilly to have many, many things to hammer the Obama administration on over the next 4 years. Will that hurt the country any more than the actual actions that Obama does that he will be getting hammered on?
Assuming he's even allowed to do so since your party of favor, would like to implement the Fairness Doctrine. Even though they were just handed a democratic administration and dem majority, despite these opposing media outlets.
I'm against anybody calling for a fairness doctrine but my side's not calling for it. Can you say the same?

Whatever you believe Vess but look at what you just "said". Anyone that he raised his voice at deserved it in his (and apparantly your) opinion. Yes, he has cut the mic off and his "principles and opinions" are not the word of God.

Have you ever, for one teeny second, considered that others have "principles and opinions" that don't agree with yours? Have you ever thought that differing opinions just may have actually helped this country in the past?

Now there's a thought. Things that may have actually shaped our country before mass media. Hmmmm.... principles and emotion.
