I doubt they will be out by then, since one of their missions is/was to find George W. Bush's brain. Ribbit
Pssst. Stu! It's the "R" word. "R" word and Obama. They go hand in hand. Besides that, he's already back tracked from original statements and is quoted as saying that there will be a slow, calculated withdrawal but he suspects a small number of forces will be left behind to deal with situations as they arise. Well, hopefully the situations are small so our small number of forces (whatever that vague number may be) can deal with them in 2010 and beyond.
I am shocked. I would have bet that you, at least, would be the One True Believer. My faith in your blind faith has taken a hit. I guess I should tell my troops to cancel their vacation plans for summer 2010.
Since my job entails working in a hospital, I can't imagine there not being those kind of support troops there if we leave any combat forces. Fortunately, I will be retired by then and won't have to draw the short straw to be part of a small number of forces who will probably be protected by Iraqi troops.
Sure we will...that trop withdrawal promise of Obama's was just another one of his lies that the kool-aid swilling lemmings bought into.
Sounds right. Obama will cut off their funding so they'll be over there without any guns, ammo or supplies. What else will they have to do besides serve Obama's whims?
If you will recall, Obama's FIRST campaign promise concerning the war was immediate withdrawal (surrender)- on Day One of his Presidency. What happened to that one, huh?
I think he said start the process of getting the troops out on the first day and that 16 months later have them out?
Reality has a way of changing the perspective of politicians once they have to start keeping promises in office, rather than making them on the campaign trail.
I would hate to be in that very last group of soldiers in 16 months. Think about how out-gunned those guys will be! Great plan Obama!! Set a date, get us down to just a handful of soldiers remaining & watch the slaughter. Sound like a good plan? toad? clembo? This is your guys brilliant idea...see any problems with it?
Well lets see on the 31st of December the UN mandate for troops in Iraq runs out any way, what are they going to do then if there is still no agreement with the Goverment of Iraq to keep them there? Dont forget David that Iraq now has a Goverment and if they dont want us in there country then what?
