I find it interesting the naysayers here are pushing rumors but don't talk about the issues and expect us to believe the rumors over the simple truth that Obama will do more for US than McCain and that's a fact because McCain has not said one thing to prove otherwise but that's because he's a puppet of the money-machine and that is also a fact.

So those who want to badmouth Obama, you're proving that Obama is the only choice so keep it up, we appreciate it! :D

    Ribbit :)

I find it interesting that people can listen to BO speak and find any facts out of it. He is one of the best non-sayers I have ever heard - a lot of word with no substance.

That being said, I think anyone who listens to these political speeches and expects any particulars to come to fruition is in for a very long wait. BTW, that is not limited to BO or JM.

You also say "puppet of the money-machine" as though it is a negative to make money. Maybe you can explain to me why people and companies should not make money and/or where making a "reasonable" amount become "greedy". Or, for that matter, just what "greedy" means.

The reason why so many Republicans are just saying why you shouldn't vote for Obama instead of why you should vote for McCain is pretty simple. Many of them realize McCain is not a good candidate for President. They are not voting for McCain, they are just voting against Obama.

The term you're looking for is "rhetoric". :D

Should Obama win, I sure hope all the Obama lovers don't disappear on us. I hope they're read for 4 years of scrutinizing everything and anything.

BTW, Toad, for all the praise you give him, I can't name one ACTUAL thing that you've said was positive about him. Maybe I missed it. Can you make a *list* of all the positives here? Not your opinions. Positives. Statements or things that he has done or will do. Because I can give you a long list of the negatives. So many I haven't even touched on. LOL! Just ask. Thing is, when I list the negatives, I usually provide sources Senate bill #'s or a youtube link of him saying it. Haven't seen much from the other side.

    vess1 "Birds of a feather...."

Here's my list. I'm sorry if I missed something. Not easy keeping track of it all!

    * the questions concerning the validity of his birth certificate
    * the fact that none of his college transcripts can be released for fear of......????
    * His lack of experience; 143 days actually spent on the job
    * His appalling record for voting present rather than voting for or against anything
    * his pro-choice stance
    * his associations with Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, and the racist, extremist, America hating Reverend Wright for admittedly 20 years
    * the kickbacks he received for letting contractors do shoddy work to low income housing around Chicago, causing repairs to be made over and over, at the expense of taxpayers, as reported by the Sun Times and WLS last year, while letting others simply go for years (Boston Globe 6/27/08) and letting them fall into disrepair
    * The quote he made in a private room in S.F. to a bunch of rich elitists talking about the average American being "frustrated" and feeling the need to "cling to their religion and their guns"
    * the horrendous, long list of non-sense, extremist, anti-gun views and bills proposed, including voting to prosecute crime *victims* who use a firearm in self-defense, and his wish to ban all handguns, all semi-autos and standard cap. mags, giving him the infamous "F" rating by the NRA

    * His beliefs in his own words on a radio interview in 2001 that the Constitution is too restrictive and that the Supreme court was not extreme enough in pursuing an attempt to spread wealth to the poor

    * He and his wife's blatant racist stances in the past including essays from college and his dream of creating a brand new civil rights division in Washington that will surely hassle businesses and individuals over anything, while creating a bunch more high paying, do nothing govt. jobs

    * Universal health care that will never happen and if it does will be dropped, just like Hawaii recently had to drop it for all the children (yes, just the children) because they soon realized they couldn't afford it, after everyone found out it was cheaper to take advantage of the system than to pay for it themselves, causing the idea to fail

    * Associations with Freddie Mac and Fannie May giving him the 2nd most in campaign contributions before they went bankrupt

    * His socialist views, which in essence punish success and reward failure

    * The spend, spend, spend philosophy equating to a trillion dollars already spent before people have even gone to the polls while giving 95% of Americans a tax cut, but also letting the Bush tax cuts expire and letting everybody wonder where that leaves us

    * canceling the trip to visit our wounded military men after finding out it couldn't be turned into a campaign circus
    * His wish to increase the capital gains tax which will prevent people from investing
    * His wish to increase taxes on corporations down to small businesses which will cause them to either cut jobs or raise prices for you the consumer, since businesses aren't in business to lose money
    * His admission to recreational marijuana and cocaine use as stated in his own book
    * Being the UN's new lap dog
    * His support of amnesty, drivers licenses and unfunded social security for illegal immigrants

and his willingness to unconditionally meet with leaders of rogue nations.

Those are my problems. Can you dig up some positives about him somewhere? I dare you.

His actions in life should speak for themselves. He's spending millions and millions of dollars to try and convince a bunch of retards how good and how smart he is and I just spent 5 minutes of my time for free, and gave everyone 100 times the education on him. Sad.

What's more sad is, I can picture all of his supporters skipping over this with their finger's in their, ears, and their eyes closed while they're humming, just as a kindergardner would ignore something. And then the response will probably be equivalent as well.

What I find incredibly strange is that those who oppose Obama go on about things like Vess has stated above yet fail to ask the ONE Simple question :D

Tax cuts for 95% of all working Americans
Health care on the same level as the Senate enjoys
Free schooling including Collage for most

HOW WILL HE PAY FOR IT ALL LOL

I have shot down a number of the superfilouse claims in the past as I am quite fair minded, people forget he visited troops at Walter Reed and in Iraq without any undue fanfair, that he actualy said tax cuts for 95% of WORKING AMERICANS, he has spent more than 143 days in the Senate LOL The fact that the Campaign contributions he recieved from MAC & MAY were miniscule compared to the amount they lost :D So he knows Bill Ayers so what I am sure most if not all politicians know unsavery people it is in the nature of the game, it was not long ago that John McCain was shaking hands with a ex Al Quaida member who has changed sides, today Gordon Brown shook hands with 6 who spent time in Gitmo and are now in a re-education center in Saudi
So he is pro choice what off it that is a matter for his consience and not yours.

Obama is inexperienced and he is way too liberal pretty much across the board for me. I could list the areas but they would be long and extensive.

McCain is too interventionist, I don't like his stance on immigration and I have my suspicions about him on gun rights and actually quite a few other issues pertaining to rights in general. Also, it became clear early to me that he made about the poorest choice a 72 year old candidate could make in selecting Palin as his VP.

I have been noticing just how dumb America has become and it's ever so apparent when I have to interview an "average" jobless person for a position..."

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Who do you think Obama's counting on for votes!!?? HAHAHAHA!

The only reason I found this is because I went through all 36 of your posts looking for a single positive thing you expect Obama to do and you haven't listed anything. You haven't said much more than the above comment.

NONE of your posts have any substance pertaining to ANY policies concerning what Obama has said, done or will do, or why he is even qualified.
I already called you out in another thread. Now I have to call you out in this one. And all you do is disappear!! C'mon man, I'm on the fence! You love him! You're going to vote for him in two days! I want to also, but I can't find any reasons to! There's got to be something.

How about all the rumors in that list!? Every single item listed has been discussed on the news, on talk radio, admitted on talk radio, or has been admitted to in his own book.

Lets see something from you that isn't an opinion or rumor. Right now you're losing this argument badly.

Well I didnt know about bout the recreational marijuana.(Although I'm not sure if there is a business use). Thanks for informing me. Now he does have my vote. C'mon, no one on here over the age of 40 ever smoked pot? No one here drank when they were teenagers? And what do you mean by Obama being qualified? Anyone who meets the requirements is qualified to run for President. Even you. But you will have to show me your birth certificate. Just me. And anything else I want to see of yours.

You know guys I have been doing a lot of reading here lately. Yes, a comment here and there but mostly reading. Now it's time to rehash some of the old BS and give yet another reality check.

    Old crap point #1:
When I joined PRWE I was HEAVILY outnumbered in my thinking and support of Obama. Yeah, Liberal, anti-American yada, yada, yada.

    Old crap point #2:
Clembo you use "typical liberal" tactics. Got news folks the conservatives use the same the same "tactics". Does that make them liberal?

    Old crap point #3:
Rezko, Ayers and of course Reverend Wright.

    Old crap point #4:
Obama has Muslim leanings. Scuse me how can he follow both Wright and the Muslim faith. Seems he'd have to kill himself in the name of Allah.

I could go on but why really. The forum began to change as Obama gained steam.

I was involved in a nasty dispute with another member here at one point. Some will remember it. I'm still here and posting whereas the other.....

Now, as has been pointed out by SO many Republicans they hate McCain. YET they urge you to vote against Obama. HOWEVER an Independent vote is worthless.

Duhh! In other words YOU support McCain.

Now for those that I have come to know who honestly WILL vote Independent for your beliefs I applaud you! If I didn't feel this election was SO important I would do the same.

Bottom line is Obama or McCain will win. Hence, I vote for Obama.

It has come to this point folks. PRWE is an atom in a universe as far as the Amercican public goes.
MANY of those people have had all they can handle. PERIOD.

These are the people that will vote in record numbers. It's not because Obama is black (and believe me I hear it all day where I live) it's because they've had enough.

Things suck for way too many. Like it or not these people will vote and in droves.

The McCain campaign's answer to all of of this has been to spread fear about Obama. This has made it easy for Obama.
Think about it. Bush has a very low approveal rating and McCain is perceived as another Bush. Real or not - this is what MANY people see. So why should they trust what McCain says? Do they want more?

The Obama campaign has had to resort to VERY little "dug up facts" actually. I've mentioned a few here in the past and always been shot down. Figured he'd have to use them but it seems not. Repos have cut off their own right foot.

Of course they brought in Sarah Palin as the answer to the "savior". Wow! - what a disaster that bimbo has become. "She's a Governor" - big deal. A governor with a lot of problems facing her when she gets back home.
She's a hockey mom, a good Christian etc.
Yeah right. Anyone checked on the pastor she respects so much?
She was so honored to meet a guy that drove a witch out of a village in Kenya via "mob rule and baseless allegations".
Seems he wants to convert Catholics as well. Yeah, good backround there.
    When in doubt consult Mouthee.

Sure I just brought that up but what the hell. With such a God fearing population in the states and MILLIONS of Catholics we should know this.

But I doth ramble. Darn good chance Obama will be the next President. He may be horrible (yes I've considered that). He may be great. He may be middle of the road.

Conservatism isn't get us anywhere really now is it? Sometimes you have to show some balls. I'm showing mine.

Whoever wins that person is walking into a mess.
    That's a given.

  14. vess1

    vess1 "Birds of a feather...."

Clembo, the election is important to me too. I don't think we can afford to get Obama. But that doesn't mean I automatically vote for McCain either because I agree, that ticket has a lot of bad aspects and has made some bad decisions. I'm open to that train of thought. Just as you and everyone else should be open to mine.

To me, neither "automatically" get a vote or a free pass that everyone else is so willing to give. My question is, how bad does a candidate have to be before somebody is willing to break with their party? Before people are willing to stop giving tyrants a free pass?

You are witnessing the end of a democracy. Since it is known that the democracy can only last up to and until the point that the people realize they can keep electing the officials that will give them the most from the public treasury until it is bankrupt. So we've already passed the bankruptcy stage and have a good 9 trillions dollars in debt. If anybody ever wants to take care of that problem, it's going to be tough. People will have to suffer.

But since we don't want that, they need Obama to promise multitudes of give away programs in addition to what we already can't afford. The U.S. is going to default eventually. Then everybody will suffer. It's only a matter of time. But that's another argument for another time.

As stated in the list I have given, I am absolutely disgusted and appalled by Obama. More than I ever have been in my life of any political candidate. To say that this man is the front-runner is very disturbing to me. If he truly is, it is surely for all the wrong reasons.

You remember John Edwards? I don't know much about him. I'm sure I could find some issues with him but I actually liked the guy for some reason. I have to believe he would be much more palettable than Obama. Verse McCain, Edwards would get my vote and I'd be happy about it.

Since that isn't possible, whether it's worthless or not, *this election being lose lose anyway*, I'll write in for Ron Paul. A real American, that's actually for the people. If he wasn't alive, maybe I'd pick the third party candidate that I don't know, but can't be worse.

This election is a loss. Supporting Obama is equivalent to pissing on your fore-father's graves IMHO. That is not an exaggeration.
It's hard for me to even view him as a real American. Hell, he grew up in Indonesia. He didn't have enough sense to put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. What else doesn't he know? He comes from the cesspool that is Chicago. He is one of the last people in this country deserving of a vote and I won't be an accomplice to the tragedy.

I'm only concerned with and going to vote for our local elections and proposals. That's all I care about at this point.

This part just caught my eye again. So, since the republican party failed so miserably for the poor, and the jobless, I am to understand that the democratic party is our only hope. Correct?

So if they get their messiah, their super-majority, their bigger government with more handouts and things don't improve, it's all over. We're through. There'll be no point in voting again.

There's a lot of jobs that are never coming back no matter who gets elected. And he can raise the minimum wage to $25 bucks an hour for all I care. If it was that easy, people would have done it years ago. But it's a slippery slope. Again, YOU will pay for that increase. Not the business. We already can't compete with cheap labor over-seas as it is.

I can't wait to see the magic show. Maybe I'll start calling him Barrack Hussein Hudini.

In order to end democracy, we must have been one. Since when were we a democracy? By the Constitution, you are not even guaranteed the right to vote for the president. We are a democratic republic. If you want an odd opinion, our problems started when we decided to make everything more democratic and vote for presidential candidates and, probably even senators (they were originally appointed by the state legislatures). In stead of candidates wining a popularity contest, those old smoke filled conventions and back room deals actually chose a politician - people who were capable of working with opposing views and really working out a compromise that actually accomplished something. That appears to me something that the present legislature is totally incapable of doing.

We never used to have to directly compete with the "cheap labor over-seas" and still would not have to if we set everything up right. Our productivity is second to none, but our corporate tax rate is second highest in the world. Like it or not, companies are in business for one reason and one reason only - to make as much money as possible. If they have to make twice as much profit (before taxes) here as they do overseas, guess where they are going.

No Vess your posts have all been attacks on the person for the main part, not once have you asked how he would pay for it all, now as for Wright I have made my point on that one a long time back that the relationship has allways worried me, the other guy's not a problem for me, try looking at that in context was there a big fuss about the Kenedy's and there Fathers past associations when JFK ran for office? and that man was involved in organized crime LOL
As for Fanni & Mac please tell me what politician has not ever recieved a donation from some lobby group and therefore by your words OWES THEM? and yes I do call 126+ thousand dollars miniscule in the grand scheme of things.
Now as for him recieving support from big banks etc I think you might find that John McCain and the Republican party have supported them for years with deregulation of the finacial system
Why is it I must ask do you expect Obama to be any different from the rest of the pack? is it because he is Black and has a strange name, and therfore must be seen to be whiter than white? (Pardon the pun and I am also not accusing you of racism)
Also I think you might find that Senetors still work for there constituants even during the closed sessions of the senate.

  19. De Orc

    De Orc Well-Known Member

Ps let me also ask this did he break any rules by taking a donation from Mac & May? Does his association with Wright break any rules? how about him sitting on the same board of directors as Ayers?
If he had a long and deep association with that man why have the FBI not previously published this? (They are not known for beeen reticent in such events) same goes for the other guy?
So far you have managed to name 3 people that he knows two that have criminal convictions and 1 that is a racist kook, so he is guilty by association? I thought that you lived in a Democracy LOL (OK so your electrol proceeders are not Democratic but you cant have everything)
You dont like his gun propossals so what that is not a reason to disqualify him :D
As for his Citizenship again I ask if he is not eligable why have not the Law Enforcement Agencies of the United States Goverment not steped in and removed him via Legal means from the Race?
    Please no conspiracy theories LOL
Whilst I can agree with a number of the man's policies especialy on Iraq and Afghanistan I can not in all honesty say that I would vote for him, my reasons are quite simple the sums do not add up, I do not like his past dealings with the Rev Wright, and he reminds me to much of our own former leader Tony (I smile all the time ) Blair :D
It is said that the man dont have enough experience to run the USA what executive experience does John McCain have? I am talking of actual experience in running a country, the answer is non, nor does Joe Biden the only one who has had to deal with anything similar even if it was on a much smaller scale is Mrs Pallin :p
there is a vast difference between sitting in the senate and been able to pick and choose what issues you will support or oppose and running the country LOL
One thing with Obama that no one can deny is that he has run a brilliant campaign but to blame the man for all the ills of America is plain stupid (and there are those here who have done so)

After Bush, Mickey mouse could have run a brilliant campaign. Any slogan or phrase will catch on with the masses looking for handouts and a savior.
