Do you think it is real?

IMHO, I think it could be real (Emphasize the word think, don't know if I do or not yet), but I don't know how you would know if you actually had it or not. Sounds like gibberish to me.

scams, plants at religious shows, people with brain chemical issues. Yeah I believe that people can speak in tongues for the above mentioned reasons.

But... can you curse in them too? Until you can curse in a language, and mean it, you don't really speak the language.:D

I believe it's taken WAY out of context, LOL. I don't believe there is a special language to talk to God to. The references in the Bible that I've read, (like on Pentecost in the beginning of Acts) the term "speaking in tongues" was other languages, (like Greek, Latin, etc.) I don't believe the way it's referenced in the Bible is like a special holy language, rather being able to speak fluently in other languages. If I'm missing something, someone kindly point it out to me, and I'll gladly correct my error. :) Hope this helps stainless my man. :D :)

    "Fall on your face.

Hmmm, I haven't read that chapter, lol. Like I said, I could be wrong, haha. Glad I put that in there. I did a little research, and found this site, seems interesting, I didn't read it all the way though. Seems to help a little bit, well put together atleast, LOL. There might be some questionable content in there, (I don't know, as I didn't read through it all yet) but it seems to help explain it. :)

I don't speak in tongues,as that's what the Hell-bound Roman Catholics often do when they are praying to the Devil as well as to the Pope of Rome.

But now society has a sardonic and sarcastic way of dealing with the ilks of humanity, we foist them out on the populace, via the internets that Algore invented, what, so we can have a good laugh at their miserous expenses.

You sure? What kind of language doesn't have curse words? I can tell you that Russian has literally dozens of them, variations, different words for increasing levels of the curse at hand. Of course when you have lived in Russia, there is much to curse about.

I was brought up in the Roman Catholic church, and contrary to what Aidan would say, there were never speaking in tongue sessions or sacrificial offerings of Protestants on the altar. In fact the masses were not a whole lot different from services in Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, or Presbyterian services I have attended.

Now Stainless, don't go and scare our crazy Kiwi wannabee off, I am having fun with him. I know he is all you say about him, but please don't deprive the rest of us of the opportune chances to torture his miserable and profane existence.

    David,
I was also brought up in the Romish false 'church'.What they practice is definitely NOT Christian at all! They're always busy bringing out their statues & bowing before them, which is idolatry,& speaking in tongues before them, which is also blasphemous.

    Aidan.

They pray, in English, or whatever language they speak, not in tongues. You would think you would know the difference. Speaking in tongues by definition is speaking what to others is unintelligible.

could it have been a Latin Mass

The main Roman Catholic church won't touch a Latin Mass with a ten foot pole. There are some very small denominations that cling to it, but I would expect that our resident opinionated bigot wouldn't know Latin if it creeped up and bit him in the hiney.
