How can you know if someone is an undocumented migrant?

If we don't have a formal process to check, the government can claim anyone they want is illegal and subject them to a life sentence in labor camps. See the problem?

Forgive me for not believing in his majesty's benevolence, or indeed competence, when they screwed up who they were sending in the first group. Just for good measure, while defying court orders all the way.

So you want to expend American taxpayer money, pay judges hundreds of thousands of dollars each, pay attorneys for the defense AND the prosecution, court clerks, bailiffs, jailers, bondsmen, clerks and so much more for illegal aliens who are not American citizens and shouldn’t be in our country in the first place?

I think a better and wiser use of my tax money would be to escort these illegal aliens back over the border and/or pay for their flight back to their country of origin.

Nevertheless, we have the Biden/Harris administration to blame for the catastrophe. It would be nice to hear from any liberal once in a while acknowledging that fact.

Yeah, if you're invested in maintaining a system of checks and balances. There's certainly more efficient ways, but this is the American way. You can't charge and execute while bypassing the judicial system.

I refuse to give in to facism because it's easy. Of course it's easy! Doing things the right way is hard. Don’t be lazy with human rights.

Please don’t lecture me on human rights. I believe in liberty and our Creator-given rights for every American citizen which are guaranteed by our Constitution. Citizens of other countries are bound by their own laws, for better or for worse. If they don’t like the laws in their own country, come to America (legally) and become a citizen where they will then be guaranteed Constitutional rights afforded to every citizen.

It’s an interesting, yet flawed, concept that you believe citizens of other countries are afforded the same rights afforded to American citizens by our Constitution. There are reasons people seek American citizenship, or didn’t you know that? Chief among those reasons is the fact that, once they become citizens, all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution are immediately afforded them. But not until.

How would you make that determination on a battlefield? Effectively that is what we have in our current state. Thank you Mr. Biden.

    Doh

SmalltownMN All I can do is shake my head....

Let's put this into its most simplest form, @GeneWright . Please answer the questions below with complete honesty.

A man walks into your home, unannounced and uninvited, with the intention of staying. Should you shrug your shoulders and allow him to live in your home, while you work with law enforcement and the courts to get him to leave? That he may have a criminal record or violent tendencies matters not, he has entered your legal property without your permission and must be vacated, not?

Easy . . . You check on them, after arrest if they do not / cannot produce evidence of citizenship when it is requested.

No, they cannot. The process is as stated above, as it should be.

By the way, you can stop calling CECOT a labor camp . . . You’ve got no ignorant sheeples to preach to here . . . We all know it is not a labor camp.

Go tell your lies to someone else.

The orders of an inappropriately seated purebred partisan contradict standing law. The Supreme Court upheld the deportation of the earliest groups as-is, and added that deportations may continue, with the proviso that judical review must be afforded to prisoners not yet deported.

After all the wreckage left in Biden's wake, you, a died-in-the-wool Democrat really want to discuss Trump's competence? We should make that a separate thread . . . Sorry, my mistake. We should make that a new Forum category.

    Oh, come on STMN!

Not only would GW welcome the guy with open arms . . . he'd probably lay a big wet one on him and hand him a freshly-laundered wife-beater to wear too.

One of the Great Gump Movie Lines:

(directed to Van Hollen by the little ankle biter girl:

Are you stupid or somethin' ?

The Great Gump follow-up answer to the question: STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.....

You say that.... All day long yesterday a small part of me was rather hoping that Van Hollen would would be successful an getting the criminal released. I had dreamed up a scenario in my in my mind where they would demand that he stay in Van Hollen's custody. Preferably cuffed together... Which would mean riding in the backseat of his limo together and sitting beside him in his first class airline seat..... Just look at how soft that senator is. I bet his tune would have changed then! Don't want to muss up the manicure or anything.

All these liberals sing the same tune until trouble comes knocking on their door.

Reminiscent of Governors DeSantis and Abbott sending their illegals to Martha's Vineyard. That was well received, lmao.

Edit: Neglected to add, GW you still remain a colon spewing POS.

Wow, that's a lot of posts to wake up to.

I may come back to some, but I don't have time right now. In the meantime, think on this case:

    https://floridaphoenix.com/2025/04/...-ice-under-floridas-new-anti-immigration-law/

Without due process, what would happen to Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez? He has his documents, what would happen to him if his documents were destroyed in a housefire the night before? Even with due process, why is he being jailed by ICE?

He is not being jailed . . . After seeing proof of citizenship, he has been released.

Interesting article but it leaves lots of questions….. let's start with why he speaks Mayan but not English as an US citizen ? I have many more.

Not after seeing proof, after public outcry and articles started spreading. There's an important difference there that stresses the need to keep the pressure on.

I don't know what else to call it. People are put there without sentences or conviction, overcrowded, and made to work. They're never getting out, so they're not working for their own benefit in the "Zero Idleness" program.

C'mon "Zero Idleness" program? If you were writing a novel and took that to your dystopian future fiction editor, they'd reject it for being too on the nose.

You gotta pretend it's not evil. Something like: Prisoner Enrichment Program "PEP"

We do not have a "battlefield" unless you watch the evening news. Especially Fox, they seem to do nothing but panic and fret over there.

Calling it a "battlefield" is dangerous language, especially when paired with the escalating suspensions of law seen under Trump.

Twenty million uninvited people? That is an invading army. I am blessed to live in a very conservative area and I can take you to parts of my community to look more like Mexico than they do America. My brother and I moved my mother from her lifetime home two years ago because it had become the same way.... And there is no suspension of law for Americans. As @Swim4Life so perfectly put it, they are not citizens. If you don't have the fortitude to come in the right way then you must go. Anyone that slips in under the cover of darkness has something to hide and I don't want them hiding near my kids school.
