It's unregretted, not "untegretted", and reflects user time that doesn't feel useless, contemptuous or counterproductive (my words). Also, the graphic for Twitter user growth you posted was amateurish at best . . . changing the Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 reporting to Oct & Nov in 2022, mislabeling Q1 & Q2 in 2022 as 2012, skipping over data for nearly a full year to Sep 2023. There's nothing at all for 2024, during which X averaged 336MM users Finally, as if fewer bots didn't trouble Twitter before Musk bought the platform , please substantiate your claim that bots are responsible for the higher user numbers.
Be sure you're looking at daily active users. Total users typically only goes up as people tend to abandon accounts rather than deactivate. Here's an overview of an analysis from last year showing the extent of the bot problem on Twitter.
I’m not sure the info for 2024 data that’s out there is reliable or not, but the stuff I’m seeing suggests something that I suspected after reading posts over on DU. There probably is a bit of an exodus from X, but it sure seems it’s more related to Musk coming out in support of Trump during his campaign and subsequent role in the administration. What a coincidence on the timing of another platform popping up, Bluesky, and people leaving X.
How convenient . . . you forgot about new enrollments. Typical . . . another social warrior, albeit a sophisticated one who can easily marshall an audience of those already misguided.
There's been several exoduses, the one you mentioned was the straw that broke the camels back for me personally. However, a lot of people I'd followed had already left and bots were so rampant it wasn't really fun to use anymore.
It's all good. Follow the minority. The majority spoke, loud and clear, in November. Promises made, promises kept. Nothing that's happening is new to anyone. He campaigned on all of it.
Funny, it's all out of the Project 2025 playbook. I remember him campaigning specifically on "that's not me, I don't even know those guys"
Possibly, but that's not the world we live in. I guess it would have more to do with whether or not the people I followed and interacted with had stayed, and many were gone before the election. What's your point?
The people you follow left for the same reason you did. It has nothing to do with the platform itself but your political leanings. Your own words paint the picture fine. Be honest about it, instead of dancing around! That is my point.
How many planes have to crash and skid off runways? So many on the past few weeks. If this is due to Trump's "anti-DEI" gutting of the FAA, I'm not getting on any plane unless the pilot tells me their pronouns.
You know…. The left could have maybe overcome the firing of their corrupt president but they won’t overcome this chicanery. When the history books close this chapter of history the democrats of the 21st century will be villainized as the corrupt and self serving crooks that they are. The only way they could redeem themselves would be to take part in fixing this bureaucratic corruption Musk has uncovered. They won’t because it is a Trump project…. The damn fools. I would like to thank them all for making it clear what they stand for.
One of the very very few Dems that seems to have at least a modicum of sanity is John Fetterman. His votes have at least been inconsistent to the party line. So I do give him some credit for being willing to listen to reason, and being open to believe his party is screwing the pooch.
