I just got a sneak peek at the schedule for the Democratic Convention! It starts off with Jeremiah Wright leading the opening prayer...Ludicris then sings the National Anthem...Bill Ayers gives a talk about the great tradition and history of the Liberal movement...Michelle is next, she speaks about what "being an American" really means to her. Father Pfleger gives us a look into the future of the Liberal movement then Tony Rezko speaks briefly about the groups various fundraising activities (he speaks via satellite from an undisclosed location but rest assured it doesn't have anything to do with legal problems or that crossing state lines thing). After the speakers are finished, there are various break out sessions you can attend such as "Wht we lost the war' hosted by Harry Reid..."Soldiers, criminals, murderers...what's the difference?" hosted by John Murtha...and the ever-popular "What he meant to say...." hosted by Obama's campaign staff. The night will be capped of by one of Obama's rousing change/hope speeches (no specifics yet as to content as the campaign hasn't decided what to believe in as of this writing).
I am not a fan of Obama but it is almost worth having nobody I want to vote for this year just to see how his candidacy puts you guys into such a frenzy and draws such ire and hyperbole laden attacks...you can almost smell the fear and picture the foam forming around the mouth like a rabid dog. Of course I couldn't vote for a man like McCain who helped his buddy rob the US of billions. He said back then he would never live it down....and he still hasn't with me although so many seem to forget or forgive. I still remember. All the campaign finance reform rhetoric will not cause me to over look that he was one of the biggest reasons why we need such measures. Maybe I will throw my vote away on a third party again this year.
Drusus...You mean the Keating 5? McCain was exonerated of that long ago, but it did nearly cost him his political career. You should read Bob Bennett's book on the subjet, Bennett is a Democrat brother of neocon Bill Bennett. As for Obama, I'm just having fun with this. It is very entertaining watching the supporters get stumped over and over again, yet come back for more, it blows my mind. McCain has many an issue to poke at, don't use an old disproven one, find something better, say, like his infidelity and his desire to obliterate the American border.
It is just plain fact that Keating was a big contributor to McCain, McCain stayed at his homes, traveled on his private planes for free, in business with his wife...you might think he is innocent but I have read quite a lot about the affair and I have little doubt that McCain bought Keating time to bilk a few more billions off the US citizen when he could have stepped in and nipped it in the bud...but they were buddies. Being exonerated in politics or anything doesnt mean he wasnt guilty, it means they arent going to ride him out on the rail and probably couldnt make it stick...he is slippery. But I agree, there are many more problems with him...that one is just the most glaring. Sorry, for me voting McCain would be like giving Ken Lay another Giant Company to run...I would rather not vote that way. I must stress I am not a fan of Obama either.
Fair enough. Bush has been a Ken Lay to the whole nation financially, and thus, my current disaproval of the Repo party. This last bailout was just the icing on the cake.
I would agree with you...I even voted for Bush the first time out. I feel a bit betrayed and lied to. My fault I guess but what I thought he was and what he WAS ended up being very different.
