    UPDATE

I just ordered Rosetta Stone " French in 5 minutes a day " so Sheila and I can join in the pandering. This is soooooooo important, we really want to be a part of it.

I am selling all of my ugly American coins and will be collecting Euros instead. I also ordered a Vespa scooter and a beret on Ebay. I will dust off my Mercedes 300SL, screw the investment, I'm going to drive that car with pride !!

    Ciao !!

Height of hypocrisy: Obama blasts US citizens for not being bilingual then goes to Germany & speaks to the German people in English!!...Obama goes to Iraq & says regardless of what he has said or done in the past he supports our military but cancels a trip to a military hospital when the Pentagon won't allow him to bring cameras to the hospital...Obama gives a speech about patriotism a few weeks ago then goes to Europe & declares himself a "citizen of the world".

I read (not in the media of course) that there were 2 bands there giving a free concert before he gave his talk. Anyone else read this. I also read something about beer and brats but I don't know if those were free. lol

Heck, free music and beer and brats (free or not) and I would listen to just about anyone. ;)

I am sure most of Europe does like him, though. They're liberal, he's liberal. They don't like America, he... :D

Stu I think you will find that most europeans actualy do like Americans, how many times do you hear of Americans on holliday in europe been attacked by mobs of anti Americans? You should perhaps pop over to France on Liberation day to see just how much the despised (You even changed the name of French fries LOL) french hate you!!
As for most europeans been liberal LOL
David if he had tried to give the speach in German and messed up you would have been rubbing your mitts in glee, saying something along the lines of SEE he cant even do that right :D I think for you no matter what the man does you will find fault
Ah Jack yes I can just see you now on your little vespa in a beret

    Bring back Maggie Thatcher !!!!

France and Germany both just elected conservatives, it is not as bad as you think Stu.

I am still trying to find the banking commitee Obama said he chairs and voted on to divest us of Iran, but unfortunatly, he made it up so I cannot find any info on it to contradict. Just wondering, do you think he was pandering to Israel when he said this? He neither voted nor is on the commitee, lol.

Hey, I hear Obama likes the band U2 so much he stole Bono's speech in part and claimed it as his own !!!

Perhaps I'll keep the gullwing in storage and get a Citroen instead....I bet the road insurance would be cheaper and allow me more to donate to MoveOn.org now that I have drank the Obama koolaide.

Wonder what they are going to say about him weaseling out of visiting the troops at out airbase in Germany? They would not allow cameras, so hey, why waste the time visiting huh?

I will update when I get my talking points from Move On

So he spends some time with the troops in Afghanistan, and Iraq and misses out on those in Germany LOL and what was Senetor McCain doing? watching the Evil Empire play thats what LOL can you vote for someone who sits outside the Yankies dugout I ask
One thing though on a more seriouse note, he has begun his visit here and is meeting with Tony Blair first rather than Gordon Brown the Prime Minister LOL Also no joint speaches after his visit to downing street (Same as for McCain when he was here a while back) so we are not taking sides LOL

    Gee, ya think?
Think about something: Everything Obama has said or done recently has caused controversy everything. He lies & his followers call them "gaffs"...his hypocrisy is ignored...make an anti-Obama statement & the implication is that you are racist- it goes on & on. What's the appeal now that he has been exposed as merely a "politician"?

    ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. (Arv comment: Bagram is a major USAF base in north central Afganistan, I recall.)

As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

I heard that the crowds were so big in Germany, when France heard all the yelling and hoopla they immeadiatly surrendered

LOL I like that, but remember that not all the French surenderd and many died horrible deaths in concentration camps for haelping downed allied airmen!
Stu over here a Conservative is what is says it is and not a libral in disguise no matter how much you might want that to mean liberal :D Your consrvatives might well have libral tendancies though LOL
David who has called you a racist for raising objections? certainly not me, you might well not like what I say but believe me what I write is based on what I have seen of his tour over here and what I have read in the papers over here, I have no axe to grind one way or the other, I would personaly rather vote for Donald Duck than either candidate :D or possibly Ron Paul :D

Ben not heard that before and if it is true then he should be ashamed of himself, but I am honestly suprised that no media reports of it have come out! after all he was and is surrounded by the worlds media and not just those in the US who love him.
Again for David he stated that we need to join together to defeat terrorists, now please tell me the lie or controvesy in that statement?
He asked that other countries played there part, again what is wrong with that? You just dont like the guy no matter what he does or says, if he said the sky was blue you would ask well what about the gray bits LOL

    De Orc,
I'll never apologize or make excuses for my disdain of Obama. Let me ask you this: What would you do if someone that you trully believed was running a scam on your country was getting the attention this guy is getting? Think about it. He's bullet-proof...even when his lies & shortcomings are exposed he manages to wiggle off the hook unharmed. Politicians like this come along from time to time but this guy has managed to pull the wool over the eyes of some very smart people! You make a point above that I would have a problem if he stated the sky was blue. True, because this guy would say the sky was blue if he thought it would get him elected, regardless whether the sky was blue, gray, hazy, etc.
I get that you dismiss this all as Obama simply being a "politician" but being a new kind of candidate is the only thing he had going for him. So he's not the new Messiah that many thought we was...how is he still being taken seriously at this point? Are his racist, elitist, Anti-American statements that popular with the citizenry? Do people really want to be less secure? Is the idea of higher taxes that appealling? Does a nanny state really sound like a good idea to the people? In what world is a candidate taken seriously when he can't even form an opinion on issues without checking the pulse of his audience first?

  18. De Orc

    De Orc Well-Known Member

Once again David you say it he checks the pulse of the people, are you unaware that is exactly what they all do! As for higher tax's yes people will except them if they think it is for the greater good, now tell me which politician has never lied? What racist remarks has he made, I know some of his advisers might well be guilty of this but has he personaly come out and made a racist remark?
So you are saying that no one in Goverment is allowed to publicly disagree with the rulling parties policies  What are you a COMUNIST LOL he is allowed to disagree and to critizise that I believe is one of his rights under your constitution or am I wrong on that.
Shortcomings um dont we all have them is that not one of the things that makes us human, or is he denied those as well :D
He is been taken seriously because he is saying what the electorate want to hear it realy is that simple, he talks of partnerships with the world instead of conflict, is that bad. He talks of alternative energy again what is wrong with that, nothing as far as I can see. What elitist statements are you talking about by the way  A nanny state LOL come and live over here then you will have some idea of what you are talking about, lets see he wants to lower the cost of private insurance to give the ordinery folks the same care that Fedral employees and Congress allready have, he wants to modernize the system lessen paperwork (Therby lowering costs) so he is a bad man for wanting to do this for the people of America?
He says he will cut tax's for those earning 25K or less and those on up to 75K will benifit by a $1000 a year, yes he says he will tax CEO's the same way they were taxed in the 90's, is that raising taxes?
What is so bad about those ideas.

Obama has said he will let the tax cuts expire............for everybody, every taxpayer. It is the underhand trick. He will raise taxes for EVERY citizen.

Also, you are not in the USA and watching the media HERE.....he is getting the free pass bigtime. Thats ok with me, McCain needs a beatdown, as does the party.

Bring it on. Obama 08'.......just understand what he stands for, thats all and be financially prepared.

    I am.
