The term "liberal" is misunderstood. Conservatives are true Liberals, let me explain. The more you go to the left on the political spectrum/ the more you will have the govt. tell you how to run your life. The Communist/ they will send you to the gulag/ execute you if you disobey their dictates (USSR/ China/ Khymer Rouge/ N. Korea)
Liberal Democrats/ Socialists want you to have the govt. tell you how to live from cradle to Heaven. Conservatives/ Rightwing regimes tell you you are responsible for your behaviour/ commit crimes you will be punished/ work hard and you will reap rewards/ with lower taxes/ less roadblocks to impede success. "Liberals" will do the opposite, they believe that criminals/ gangbangers/ druggies are victims of capitalist greed/ while someone who worked hard all their life/ now lives in an affluent neighbourhoods are cheating the system. Up here during covid/ it ws the Trudeau Liberals who called the "Trucker's" Right Fascists because they dared protest his draconian covid lockdowns/ loss of employment/ seizing bank accts./ ala Putin.

 

I get that, but modern day liberals don't . . . True liberty is freedom . . . governed only as necessary, and not being governed to the hilt as they would have things be.

Today's progressive liberals believe in abrupt, radical change, rather than permitting the evolution of society and government at an organic pace, which better tests the extremes to which each tolerates the other. Finding that happy medium is no simple feat, and the more abrupt and less tested the changes are, the less likely they are to hit the mark and be lasting.

 

This is the one platform that does not get nearly enough exposure. The very definition of freedom is the ability to dictate your own success, failure, happiness, and dreams. I will never, ever forget the tears my young, single mother shed over going to the school to sign me up for cheap school lunches. It was fully repugnant and demoralized to her and she spent the rest of her life educating herself to achieve a better life…… I do alright in life. But if I failed tomorrow, I would work flipping burgers before I asked the Fed to help me…… The left has done serious internal damage convincing the masses that self reliance is an archaic concept…. Whatever happened to, “Ask not what your country can do for you”?

 

It certainly didn’t die as far back as JFK did, but I’m just as certain progressive liberals wish that it had . . .

 

You guys are so right. Look at the former Soviet Union, every aspect of life controlled by the State/ how well did collectivization of agriculture turn out? Stalin's crazy idea did not work. Tens of millions Ukrainians starved to death/ later under Gorbachev still food shelves were empty in Soviet Russia. Sadly kids are brainwashed by left leaning teachers/ professors and become "good" progressives.
Here in Canada the political divide is very noticeable. Rural people vote Conservative (progressives term Country folk=rednecks/ boorish.
Suburban voters are split/ Urban voters are always glued to their devices like mindless zombies/ and would vote left come hell or high water. Even when Trump ran vs Clinton in 2016/ media here reported that the "undereducated/ mostly white middle aged males" would vote for Trump. While women/ minorities/ well educated professionals would give Hillary a landslide. They were wrong as usual. I was the only one who predicted a Trump win/ a week before the election.

Then you have that buffoon in Slovakia who supports Putin/ guess he was asleep at the switch when Red Army occupied Czechoslovakia 1945-89. Hopefully US House will get their act in gear and pass bill for 60B aid.

 

Today the top clowns in Kremlin (Putin/ Lavrov) were all having a hissy fit over German top Luftwaffe Generals discussing possibility of use of German Taurus missiles to flatten Kerch Bridge. How did they find out? Well by espionage. So now these turkeys are crying the blues, Someone should mention it to the Russians, you invaded a sovereign Country/ bombed civilian infrastructure/ kidnapped Ukrainian kids/ your thugs shot civilians. Its refreshing to hear the Estonian PM call for NATO troops to fight in Ukraine/ Macron for saying same/ UK for having special forces in Ukraine to help with missile systems/ Denmark for giving more F-16s. Time for Biden to seize all frozen Russian assets and give it to Ukraine for weapons.
