Who knows what goes into making one electric car? IYO, Pick all that are true.

  2. I'm in favor of electric cars.

  3. I have an electric car.

  4. I will not buy an electric car until forced to do so.

What goes into the hundreds of tons of material that is needed to produce one electric battery car?

What goes into making a large battery used in an electric car?

    What happens to dead batteries?

Dumb me has tried twice to post this as a poll. Never mind.

Less try to salvage this. Above you'll find the picks #1 to #6.

Comments welcome. Note, I have already claimed to be dumb so no need to comment on that.

Electric cars are the future. HOWEVER, until the infrastructure is in place to support the charging of those cars, we are asking for trouble. It's too much, too soon. Look at California asking people not to charge their cars during certain hours of the day.

A better solution than forcing electric cars down our throats too soon would be to build the infrastructure first. Doesn't that make sense?

The electric grid in the U.S. is woefully outdated. One-fourth of homes in the U.S. are total electric and that number is growing rapidly. So, unless the grid is updated (which will cost trillions of dollars) we are asking for more brownouts and blackouts as it stands right now. Add millions and millions of electric cars siphoning even more juice out of the outdated grid and we are in real trouble.

If someone could provide the stats on how much energy it takes to produce an electric car and the impact on the environment in production, operation, maintenance and eventual destruction of the car I would appreciate it. I know the cost is high.

This info is all over the place. Just not reported except by whistle blowers inside the industry. A battery manufacturer was on the radio giving the low down on batteries. China controls the needed minerals in the world. Also reported today (including batteries) 500 tons of raw material to produce one car. Lets say this is extremely exaggerated even one hundred tons is cause for concern. Poor "Mother Earth."

There is not enough electrical capacity on the earth (unless nuclear power) to allow for this electrical nonsense. What powers the trucks hauling the raw materials out of the earth? What powers the manufacturing process. Do you like your airconditioned house? This electric nonsense is being foisted on the entire world using mostly completely fabricated nonsense about the climate to bring us all to our knees. Sadly, it is working. Thankfully I'll be dead and miss most of the misery that is coming. Check out what's happening in Europe right now with winter starting. CA is right behind them and it will affect all of the USA soon enough.

What do you suppose their ESG score will be when the requirement of reporting Scope1, Scope2 and Scope3 emissions goes into effect?

These people forgot the change from leaded to unleaded gasoline. It was a process that occurred naturally over the course of time and was not forced upon us…. And it worked…… Now we have this being thrust upon us. The technology isn’t ready and the infrastructure isn’t ready…… I am completely forthright.. I have needed a new car for almost two years but have waited to see if the battery technology and availability would show up… They didn’t. I have a close friend that heads up the service department at an area Ford dealership and I been quizzing him all along. A month ago he told me straight up that the battery pans (his verbiage) were failing in 2-3 years time. Ford does not warranty those battery pans the same as say the engine in your new Ford. And in three years time owners of Fords EV’s are having to shell out 20k plus for battery pans in their three year old vehicle…… That did it for me and I went with what I knew……. We simply aren’t ready for this on a national scale. Not even close…. But it sounds really cool to the younger generation so the left will march ahead with it. Consequences be damned.

It will be favorable as long as there isn’t something new that they want the end consumer to buy instead. Firearms are not causing any significant damage to the climate but ESG is against them. ESG is a leftist tool to enforce their ideology.

"Payback is a b***h." The increasing production of EV's will require the electric companies to create a new series of power grids to support the greater demand for electricity. Speculative estimates of trillions of dollars will be required to satisfy the demand. Wind farms and solar arrays will consume mega square miles of arable land thereby reducing the potential crop generation needed to feed the increasing population. Are the transmission lines to be above or below ground? What about dead birds and the surrounding ground contamination? Another thought: Why is the government paying for the cost of residential solar panel installation? What's next, windmills in our backyards?
So, who will be paying the cost of this boondoggle foisted on the American Citizens? It has been estimated all this effort will reduce global warming by .001% and the politicians are the ones who will reap the benefits while the public foots the bill.
WAKE UP America because you are being hornswaggled big-time.

This ascension of the EV is probably inevitable but, because of how the myopic greenies are trying to force its premature adoption, this is going to be one hell of an ugly, polluting mess. They'll never say it out loud, but they're going to regret their impatience for many decades to come.

Thank you for bringing that subject up! Green Bay, Weyerhaeuser, West Frazier, Plumb Creek, International Paper, Georgia Pacific…… and on and on are laughing all the way to the bank. The Learjet leftist justify their lavish lifestyle by buying carbon offsets (credits). The truth is, while theses corporations promote this policy, they are clear cutting millions of acres of timber each year. They get Government subsidies to regenerate the timber and eco nuts also pay them for planting trees that they have to plant to stay in business. Hell, I want a part of that$$$$! Getting paid by leftist loons to make money…..
