Comedy is truth in its purest form. This is why Right-wing comedians are few and far between. They can be neither truthful nor make their audiences think. One of my favorite lines from any comedian is not a joke. It’s a statement. George Carlin said, “A comedian shouldn’t just make them laugh, he should also make them think. Normalizing alternative realities is the first step towards an Orwellian dystopian future where truth is what The State orders it to be. What's funny about that situation?
Oh wow Joe . . . I’m so impressed with the depth of thought in your reply. I suppose truth is the reason that the pop music and motion picture industries are also dominated by Left wingers, hmm? I think not. Leftists are constantly pushing to make mainstream that which is not, and using mass communication to do so. Everywhere they can force the right out of the media, out of entertainment and out of the public eye, leftists have made it their mission with singular focus. With no visible opposing argument, their scripted messaging is the only one heard and, therefore, assumed by the masses to be the only option. The reason there are so few recognized conservative comedians is the same reason there are so many blackballed conservative actors . . . you liberals don't want to provide them with an audience, and therefore do your utmost to deny them a venue. While demonstrably successful, it is an insidious practice, and will end very badly when the masses realize how they have been manipulated. Comedy is not truth in its purest form. . . . Truth is unfiltered in its purest form, allowed to stand questioned and validated by those to whom it is presented alongside the dubious . . . something the Left will not let allow, for controlling the message lets them control all else.
Any tangible proof of your opinions here? I'm sure that when you hail from a grievance based perspective, it always seems like you are being attacked. It's how the Right maintains its outraged base.
Gee Joe . . . you said, "Comedy is truth in its purest form. This is why Right-wing comedians are few and far between. They can be neither truthful nor make their audiences think." Before running at the mouth, insisting that I prove what I've written, let's see you back up the bold statements you first made.
I freely admit what I wrote was my opinion but the facts are that Right-wing comedians ARE few in number, George Carlin did actually say exactly what I quoted, and the Trump Administration DID push the idea of alternative realities. So what exactly do I have to prove or is this you just deflecting the crap you spewed that can't prove? Sure it is. It's just your own biased opinions stated as facts again. What else is new?
Slap em' all (with a Thor Hammer) and let them fall where they may, and be done with it. Start with JN and The sidekick GW (Robin).
Not my quote but it does explain the Reichwing in this country as it stands today. There is nothing ‘conservative’ about plotting to overthrow American democracy. It isn’t ‘conservative’ to undermine our institutions. Quite the contrary. It isn’t ‘conservative’ to preach extremism and marinate oneself in lies. It isn’t ‘conservative’ to usher in a radical new vision of American government, one supported by intimidation and violence and rooted in minority rule. There is nothing ‘conservative’ about ripping up decades of precedent. There is nothing ‘conservative’ about undermining the way we vote. It isn’t ‘conservative’ to use the power of the bench to further political aims. ‘Conservative’ suggests restraint, moderation, and caution – attributes completely absent from the modern Republican Party.
Co-opt facts much? The Republican Party is much bigger than the unruly cabal that marched into the Capitol. Compared to the Republican Party, conservatism is bigger still. Would you get off your tired, inaccurate and inadequate message that all of those conservatives who did not call for or support that incident somehow did? It makes you look so small, petty and ineffectual. Supplanting law enforcement with feel-good counselors, replacing reading-writing-and-rithmetic with one-sided history and Intro to sexual-adventurism, injecting emotionalism into the Supreme Court . . . Conservatives and Republicans in general do not preach extremism. Are there conservative extremists? Yup, just like extreme liberals. Speaking of marinating . . . hmm . . . Hunter's laptop, Steele Dossier . . . Next . . . Your imagination runneth too wild. Oh please, I could go on for hours about this one . . . just challenge me. When people vote twice, when non-citizens vote, when dead people vote . . . that is theft of representation. Go ahead Joe . . . prove no one voted twice, prove no non-citizens voted, and prove no votes were cast using the ballots of dead people. It's those thieves who undermined the way we vote . . . no, the way we are supposed to vote. The SCOTUS is not some newfound attack vector to be fought over by disparate political parties. It is the most constant of our branches of government. The reason? Because our founders knew how well crafted the Constitution was, and did not wish that the whims of the day . . . of any day introduce changes to our principles or our form of government. The SCOTUS is not empowered to legislate change, and shall not do so. It may make case-specific decisions, but it may not change the Constitution or its meaning. The sole purpose of the SCOTUS is to apply the Constitution, as written by the founders. Oh, that statement reeks of sincerity Joe, coming from the party of "Throw the baby out with the bathwater".
You seem to broadly find refuge for yourself across a spectrum of bad behaviors that are committed by other party faithful while the rest of you sit in complicit silence. At the same time painting everyone on the other side as extremists because some random protester had a sign saying 'Defund the police'. I guess that you are perfectly fine saying do what I say, not what I do and ignoring the hypocrisy inherent in your own words. Radicals!
You Democrats do much the same when radical leftists wrong others, so screw the "complicit silence" BS you so often resort to, @JoeNation . . . that deflection can be used almost universally across both political parties. Your hypocrisy runs thick like sap on a February maple.
The difference between you and I is that I don't routinely resort to complaints over your "complicit silence" to avoid coming up with well-reasoned replies.
I would love to have to be subjected to any kind of silence you have to offer but it is actually the GOP that sits silent as Trump spews crap and the worst of the worst in the ranks of the GOP such as Greene, Cawthorne, Boebert, and McCarthy routinely define the radical far Reich agenda.
