That all has very little to do with the point I was making, and I also don't think anything you said is in conflict with my previous post (even if I don't agree with everything you said).

I should have just posted the Wikipedia page on the Overton window in the first place

If it's not listed here, I'm not interested. :)

The point is...I'm a Liberal. Ronald Reagan was a Liberal. Donald Trump is a Liberal. We all believe in Liberty. Democrats haven't been Liberal since 1971...regardless of where you put your hands.

You make a false argument. The "Overton window" justifies mediation and compromise as a matter of policy, but only within Constitutional boundaries. 50% of "Crazy" is still Crazy!

Please elaborate, I'm not understanding what you're trying to say here.

We're not a Democracy...we're a Democratic-Republic. Big difference. We follow a Democratic process to choose our Representatives, but it's our Representatives who make the decisions.

A Democracy is a system controlled by a Majority. A Republic is a Representative system that relies on both Democracy and a founding document (Constitution) to protect the Minority FROM the Majority (Human Rights). If we step outside the boundary of our Constitution, we destroy the compact that holds us together as a People and a Nation. We destroy Liberty and Freedom.

“Freedom and Property Rights are inseparable. You can’t have one without the other.”

What does that have to do with the Overton window political theory?

You're gonna have to figure that out on your own. This is as far my Uber goes. Truth isn't something to be manipulated.

I'll take that as a you don't know either

See I was asking you to explain because it really sounds like you don't understand the core concept of the Overton window

The Overton Window simply describes changes in perception over time. Leftist use Menticide to artificially shift the Overton Window within a population. When a Patriot like President Trump comes along and sets things straight, the cognitive dissonance can be unbearable. I feel for you.

The "Overton Window" is irrelevant when discussing the Constitution. The Constitution isn't subject to perception. If the Constitution needs to evolve, there's a Democratic process for doing that. Messing with a society's Overton Window (Menticide) isn't the approved process.

Like @toughcoins says...Biden's a corrupt, spineless sycophant (paraphrasing). He has no moral or ethical compass. Tryng to classify Biden and his family as anything other than criminals is a Fool's Errand.

Now it's real obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks for clarifying

Your just talking about the evolution of Society. It's not a particularly difficult concept to grasp. Saying the words "Overton Window" doesn't make you brilliant. Let's deal with a concrete example...Woman's Suffrage.

There was a time in America when only Men voted...and just Men with Property before that. Prior to Women's Suffrage, Victorian society was more centered around a nuclear family than it is today. The Father represented the family. One view at the time was that Woman's Suffrage weakened the family by cancelling the family vote.

Still, there was Public debate and Women's Suffrage prevailed...and society adjusted. In retrospect, was that a good change? Mostly, yes (I guess)...but our continued drift away from the Nuclear Family has negative societal outcomes (e.g. family support) that shouldn't be ignored.

Women's Suffrage was a fringe idea and now it's not. Beyond that (you're right), I don't understand.

What I do understand is...Gaslighting and Menticide should never be used to speed up societal evolution...regardless of the purity of your intentions. You're taking something that doesn't belong to you.

That's not at all what it means, let me give you a concrete and contemporary example: universal healthcare.

Policies resulting in universal healthcare until quite recently in the U.S. weren't even considered by politicians, then as we shifted left, they became more mainstream. While it's still far away from becoming policy and considered "radical left" by many, it's talked about and moving closer to becoming policy eventually.

Now, that does sound like "evolution of society" as you described, but here's where the Overton window idea comes into effect. Yes, we are moving left, but what is considered "radical left" by our politicians is already non-controversial policy in almost the entire world. We are shifting left, but the center of American policy is decidedly right wing compared to the rest of the world.

Gaslighting socialized medicine doesn't make it any better or more responsive to the customer. The American Medical Association (AMA) is the largest and most powerful labor union in America! Socialized medicine is nothing more than a payout to the biggest DNC donor. ObamaCare is World Class gaslighting and intended to control the population via healthcare rationing based on ESG score. That' where we're heading!

You are exactly proving my point with your rhetoric. That view is nearly uniquely American because we are so right-wing shifted.
