No...you listed "your perception" of Republican party policy positions...not the same thing. I apologize for jumping into your conversation with JN. Perhaps you should start a private conversation if you don't wish hear community comments/corrections.
A silly statement MD especially coming from you. As a whole the left does not "warmly embrace" criminal activity. Hundreds of arrests were made in Chicago alone. Interestingly enough no members of Congress attempted to visit or give any type of aid to these individuals whereas thugs incarcerated from Jan. 6 were embraced by some. Why is that? There was a BLM march in my small city. Businesses boarded up in anticipation including the coin shop I used to work in. Nothing happened except a peaceful march in a very racist city. I say it's racist because I've lived here over 30 years. I've seen it many times. BLM is a powder keg that has been in the making for how many decades? Never have they attacked the Capitol in hopes of over turning a Presidential election. Why is that? I say investigate BLM all you want but there sure as hell better be a thorough investigation of what transpired on Jan. 6th. What is there to be afraid of?
I hear you. And honestly, had I not witnessed a BLM protest group kick a white womans little dog to within an inch of his life, perhaps I wouldn’t feel as strongly as I do about them. We are a nation of law and order. Without law and order none of us can send our families out the door each day. I give no quarter to January 6th lawlessness and give no quarter to BLM lawlessness. I don’t care what slant it is given, criminals are criminals whether they bear the flag of BLM, January 6th or whatever it may be. I do not abide a criminal. Just cannot do it.
but at the same time people eat them at every chance. If you really want to prevent cruelty to animals quit doing that
Nope; you misunderstood the post. My position is that your use of "some" overlooked a lot of bad events. The amount of death and damage cannot be ignored. You can't look at January 6th as this big bad event while ignoring all of the chaos that came from the summer of riots. Protesting is perfectly constitutional and encouraged-mass looting and destruction is not. If people were consistent and called out the looters in the same manner as the Jan 6th people, that would be fair. But you had the opposite. Remember the "fiery but mostly peaceful protests" lingo. Also there were multiple people bailed out (or just released without bail) who committed crimes during the riots: "One defendant, Jaleel Stallings, was charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at police during protests on May 30, county records show. MFF paid $75,000 in cash to get Stallings out of jail, according to MFF interim director Greg Lewin. He said Stallings was among a dozen people MFF helped with direct bail actions after the protests." MFF also paid $750 toward a bond for Chylen Evans, who was charged with looting a liquor store, clothing store and mobile store. Many others were let out of jail because the areas they are in have no bail and release people quickly after arresting them. Meanwhile, countless people from Jan 6th have remained in jail for months with no bail. Let's see some consistency and hold all violent criminals accountable. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...bail-fund-money-didnt-just-assist-protestors/
There's definitely a feeling of frustration that liberal politicians actually encourage and impower these groups to commit crimes against their own citizens...then bail the thugs out of jail. It's really quite shocking to watch.
Just look at Chicago. You have all of these politicians screaming about the gun problem but then someone uses a gun to kill an innocent person and they are let out of jail in short order.
Ignore this if you like, total tangent, but that reminded me of a fun fact. Every person killed by police is technically innocent, as they were killed before they were proven guilty in a court of law.
A tangent it is. There is little comparison to be made. In Chicago (and other big cities) people have been released who have extensive records of violence. Below is a list of people on electronic monitoring (as of earlier this year). If you look at people arrested for violent crimes (when they do find them), there are many who have been previously arrested and convicted. 94 individuals charged with murder. Four years ago, that number was 31. 261 individuals charged as armed habitual criminals — meaning, at least two prior felony convictions. Four years ago, that number was 15. 534 individuals charged as felons in possession of a weapon. Four years ago, that number was 89. 569 individuals charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Four years ago, that number was 182. 33 individuals charged with vehicular hijacking. Four years ago, that number was six. 53 individuals charged with domestic battery. Four years ago, that number was 13. https://www.chicagotribune.com/opin...0210521-hknsrhhdv5awjbluj5ieznbpjy-story.html
