Hey everyone. Please listen to Biden's speech from last night. I think it's important to hear all the sides out, regardless of what you may think of them. Especially important is to hear them out in full as a primary source without any kind of commentary or editing. I chose C-SPAN because that's about as neutral as you can get. I may loathe Trump, but I've listened to many of his speeches and plan to watch his RNC speech next week. When he gives it I'll update this thread with a video.
@JohnHamilton did you watch it? I think you may be pleasantly surprised at how strong his mind still is. Sidenote, I don't know how this escaped me before, but I learned from the DNC about Biden's stutter. It totally explains anytime he has stopped mid-sentence, and actually makes the whole "loss of mental faculties" argument pretty messed up. It's incredibly impressive he's been able to overcome a neurological disorder that interupts speech preparation and output as much as he has.
I stuttered when I was in elementary school. There is a big difference between not being able to get the word out and not have the mental capacity to recall the concepts you are trying to explain. It doesn’t matter. You will vote for him because he’s Bernie Sanders’ puppet. You counting on him to stand in for Bernie since Bernie couldn’t get elected himself. You won't be disappointed.
How can anyone question someone's mental capacity and still support a moron like Trump? Even Fox personalities think Trump has dementia.
In the words of Chris Wallace: “It seems to me that after tonight, Donald Trump is going to have to run against a candidate, not a caricature”
Biden got the teleprompter reading down. I wonder how many takes that required? But that does not matter. What does matter is policy, and at this moment, rioters and looters in the major American cites are setting you party’s agenda. You won’t ever acknowledge that they exist.
You're right, it doesn't matter, but if you're curious, 1 take. His speech was live with a few reporters in the room. As for the second comment I see you've opted to jump from 1 caricature to another.
What “caricature.” It’s the Democrat leadership in the large cities who are supporting the rioters and the looters. You won’t admit that they exist because it would do damage to your party. That is totally dishonest. As for Biden’s speech, would any of those reporters admit it if he stumbled? Of course not because they are in the tank for the Democrat Party. They are propagandists, not news reporters.
Again, he was live on the air. Biden is fully competent, and he's ready for this. What do you want me to admit? Of course there's rioters and looters along with the protestors. Nobody is saying they don't exist. It sucks they're diverting from the message with destruction, but it's been calmed down for quite a while.
WRONG!!! Or wishful thinking on your part. Did you see what they did in Chicago a couple of weeks ago? They trashed the best shoping area in the city. Did you see what they did Kenosha, Wisconsin last night? They are yet to calm down in Portland, Oregon and Seatle, Washington. So far as your precious Lorie Lightfoot, mayor of Chicago, is concerned, she doesn't give a damn what they do until they come to picket around her house. Then she gets pissed off. Ditto for the other Democrat failures who run these cities. Decent hard working people are tired of putting up with this shit, and that's what it is. This YOUR PARTY who won't stand up to this crap. You should really go to Baltimore sometime and see what what it's like. Ditto for Newark and East Orange, New Jersey. Those cities are unlivable because of crime and decay. New York, Chicago and every other major city could end up the same way. Even Andrew Coumo can see it, which why he privately has no use for Bill de Blasio. I know, the whole world has to change because your little college professors taught you that everyone should have the same income. The trouble is, if you side keeps destoying everything, there won't be much to redistribute.
I'm gonna take an aside here. I always found this college indoctrination thing hilarious. I regret it somewhat, but because I did well enough in high school I never had to take more than 1 lib-ed class (tested out of them). When did my indoctrination come when 99% of my time in college was straight up math or the hard sciences? I wish I'd taken time to take classes on arts or culture, but I didn't.
Yeah, it's way less than it was a few months ago. Even in cities like Portland it's pretty contained to a few blocks. Kenosha made sense, the police unloaded a gun into a guy's back at point blank range. When that kind of stuff happens, people will be understandably angry. It is what it is.
Look at the Republican run states. Mired in uncontrolled coronavirus outbreaks and still refusing to do anything meaningful to stop the spread. Ten's of thousands of people are dying and they want to keep businesses open. I'll take a few protests any time. Incompetence is deadly in the red states. Idiots.
You don't know the situation in Kenosha was yet. You don't know if the guy was reaching for a gun or what he might have been up to. All you know is that he's Black and that justifies burning up a city. Really? Is that your mentality? Why should business owners, who nothing to do with what happened, have to pay the penalty? Do you think that's fair? Your side says, “Well, they have insurance!” That’s bull shit. If you think that justifies burning down neighborhoods, you have a lot to learn about common decency and how the financial world works. When an insurance company pays a claim, everyone pays for it in the end. Keep on thinking like this, it won't matter how much Co-Q-10 your senile presidential candidate takes. Middle class people work hard for what they have, and they don't take kindly having a bunch of violent radicals burning down buildings and trashing neighborhoods. I am afraid of these people to point where my wife and I are talking about buying guns and taking classes. Neither of us have owned a gun before. We live in a partially gated community, and we are concerned about our safety. Before you think I live in "Millionaire Acres" most of the people in our neighborhood are active or retired military, and none of them are generals.
You don't have to go to college to learn that. In fact college is only the beginning. Once you graduate, you are supposed to keep learning. That's what "a liberal education" is supposed to provide to you.
