Nazi storm troopers now kidnapping citizens off the streets

Perhaps we need to enforce all laws...

 

Here is what you and the rest of the Right just can't seem to understand no matter how many times we say it. Fine, arrest anyone destroying property and or looting or vandalizing anything. That is perfectly OK.

But you continually lump those people exercising their constitutional right to protest, their constitutional right to report on the protests, and literally those on the streets just observing the protests with the relatively few people breaking the law. If you wanted to stop the protests, all you would have to do is send a few agitators into the crowd and call them all criminals and you basically take away people's right to protest. Is that what you really want from this unlawful president? Seriously? If it is, then I can have zero pity for your side. I am just unwilling to let a man who thinks he is king take away democracy. Funny how he only targets states and cities he considers "Democratic run cities". If there ever was a more corrupt use of political power to attack your political enemies, I can't think of it. You piss and moan all you want about property while your civil rights get tossed in the trash. It seems like a horrible prioritization of principles.

 

I am not legitimizing actions taken by the fed. I said that before. I dismiss the thought that the fed is sending agitators into the crowds to create chaos. I watched a live news feed of the first weekend of protests in my city. I watched the agitators kick a woman's dog into submission. Those same lawful protestors went on to ransack a number of our city's businesses. They are there by choice under the auspices of being lawful protestors..... You can duck, dodge and swerve all you want. This isn't about the left, right, Trump or any one institution. It is about allowing lawlessness to be glorified in a nation of laws. What will we glorify next? Raping and pillaging??

 

1. The federal crackdown is not attempting to find justice, far more people are being beaten, gassed, and left in the street rather than arrested.

2. They're targeting peaceful protestors. Notably, Mayor Wheeler was conducting discussions with protestors last night on the front lines when the feds came out and gassed him.

3. This is important, criminals have rights. This is especially true for suspected criminals. Constitutional rights cannot be forfeit. It is a far greater danger in the long run to allow the federal government to act like its authority supercedes the constitution than it is to have rioters burn a building because acting legally is too slow in some cases.

 

As a bonus, anyone here happen to be into the ideas of smaller government or state's rights?

 

I am all about smaller government. It would stun you to know how much time in my office is wasted on regulatory paperwork..... And it isn't just that. With each new law and each new regulation, I am in control of less of my own life and decision making. And that disturbs me.

 

I can only speak for myself and I will not be lectured on the topic of lawlessness by people that support the most lawless person ever to set foot in the White House. If the Constitution means nothing to you, say so and stop pretending that we have laws anymore based on a Constitutional framework. This constant focus on broken windows and looted merchandise is so beyond obtuse, it boogles the mind that anyone would be even standing on that pedestal.

 

Interesting turn of events that in 2020 liberals would seize the mantle ceded by conservatives of constitutional purists and defenders.

 

Most hypocrisy is eventually exposed for what it is.

 

Only because it isn't happening in your neighborhood..... Yet.

I don't think conservatives have ceded a thing. The actions taken by the military in Seattle are not unconstitutional.

The Constitution, as presently written, and the laws on the books which comply with its intent, may both displease you liberals. To address that, the constitution grants the people the right to change it, but only with the affirmation of the vast majority.

What the Constitution does not do is permit the disenfranchised to sway votes under duress to force change.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with peaceably speaking one’s mind to those who will voluntarily listen. However, it is a constitutional violation to thrust one’s views upon another who doesn’t want to hear them.

It is worse still to incite or commit violence in order to bring home the point you are trying to make. That you cannot seem to get the majority on board with your views may be frustrating, but it does not justify the chosen behaviors.

Resorting to force as a means of bringing about change was anticipated by our founders, and the constitutional prescription for addressing that assault is to respond to force with force. Members of the US military are sworn to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic . . . and they are doing exactly that . . . responding to domestic enemies.

You may not like that, but those who have brought violent demonstration to Minneapolis, Atlanta, Seattle, New York and other similarly disturbed communities have made the wrong choice, and are getting what they've asked for.

 

I am not a constitutional scholar by any stretch.... But I find this to be quite comforting.

This is not rocket science, folks. Stop breaking the law, and being around when laws are being broken, and we'd be talking about something else.
