Residents in at least 20 states have taken to the streets to protest their governor's stay-at-home orders, arguing that the country should start to reopen and recover from the virus. More than 21 million people have lost their jobs in the last four weeks. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was asked about the dangers of these protests during an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America on Monday. Gretchen Whitmer said she was considering extending social distancing guidelines in response to Michigan residents who protested her stay-at-home restrictions on Wednesday. Trump claimed that the protesters were being responsible in how they were demonstrating. “These are people expressing their views,” he explained. “I see where they are, and I see the way they’re working. They seem to be very responsible people to me, but they’ve been treated a little bit rough.”
Hmmm... You're a funny guy, Joe. Are you sure it wasn't the Democrats screaming "xenophobia", (that we shouldn't close borders) which led to the spread of this disease in the United States?
Only if they'd started the border closing immediately after the world first identified Covid-19 as a novel pathogen on January 7th I'm afraid. New autopsies out of Seattle confirm the first U.S. death is now February 6th. Average 7-14 day incubation period + average 10 days to deadly symptoms onset gives the approximate day they were infected as January 18th. So if we had locked down all borders within 10 days of learning this pathogen was spreading in China, maybe a lockdown would have worked. But that would also mean having to lockout any people who live in the U.S. but we're abroad indefinitely. The point is there's nothing we reasonably could have done to stop the initial spread. All we can do now is stay inside, abide by the latest science, and avoid unnecessary risks (like mass protests, to bring this back to the point of the post)
Tell us when that last time Republicans and Trump in particular didn't want to close borders, build walls, bar immigrants, and cage refugees and I will gladly believe that limiting other countries access to our borders was the right thing to do. The problem is that the Right-wing has no credibility on this issue due to their frequent and overt vilification of anything to do with a human being from outside the U.S. borders and frankly, many of those people they don't like within the U.S. borders for that matter. You reap what you sew.
Publishing this chart and crowing about how many Americans have died to boost the election chances for the White trash that runs you party is sick. You have no heart and no soul, only an ideology. But that’s the way socialists operate. They have no respect for people. They are just things to be manipulated or pushed out of the way if they don’t cooperate.
No, just telling the truth about you Joe. When it comes to politics have a heart that is cold as stone.
Because you know the truth right? Someone has to have told you already to stop listening to that voice in your head.
If you don’t want to listen this then stop posting death charts. It’s darn hard to come off not looking like an ogre when you connect death charts with politics.
You know, I think you're absolutely right. Joe, you really need to try burying your head in the sand instead of always trying to critique policy outcomes based on reality and facts. We have delicate sensibilities and your posts can be offending to them.
You're right. I see no point in abiding by reality. What was I thinking? Facts ARE a pesky things. BTW What is a death chart?
