Support for impeaching Trump rises among independents and Republicans

Currently at about 55% among all Americans surveyed. At this point in the Watergate hearings public support for impeachment was at about 27%. Trump always brags about being the best. He wins this one.

 

Yes.... It’s sad that our entire electorate will be fully consumed in this soap opera for the next six months. Absolutely nothing of any substance will get done while we spend millions feeding the legal teams while those that need to be fed wait.

 

Can you name anything that got done in the last six months? The last twelve months? The last 18 months? As long as the congress, specifically the Senate, refuses to consider legislation, who really cares what they spend their time doing anyway? Democrats in Congress are getting things done. Trump and Republicans are just ignoring them. House Democrats are passing bills at a rapid pace, while Trump complains they’re “getting nothing done.” Seems to me like congress needs something to do and performing their Constitutionally mandated role of oversight is as good as anything else. As of May 2019, there were over 50 bills that are not being considered by the Senate.

 

By the way, Pelosi is a genius.

By letting the house go for these next two weeks she has done two things:

1. The House intelligence committee is still on the job, which means that it's the only working legislative committee that will get news coverage. Everything they do will be talked about they are driving the narrative putting Trump on the defense and dominating the news cycle.

2. House Republicans are out of town so not easy to get coverage and react as quickly in the news cycle.

She is Beating Trump at his own game.
