I had never heard of Ron Paul before Bonedigger's posting in the Coin forum, so I use Google. (Googled never works with spell check). Anyway....if this info from his web site is true, he may be da man, if Fred (the Warrior) decides not to run: Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record: He has never voted to raise taxes. YES! He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. YES! He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. OKAY! He has never voted to raise congressional pay. YES! He has never taken a government-paid junket. YES! He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. YES! He voted against the Patriot Act. YES! He voted against regulating the Internet. YES! He voted against the Iraq war. SMART GUY! He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. Now if we could just get him to speak up a bit so other candidates will get a clue of what is the right way to act, perhaps we could actually get a President with a brain! [Sorry, George, but straight C's & D's don't cut it for me. At least not for a President.]
I saw an interview with him about 4 months ago on Real Time with Bill Maher. He made a lot of sense....which is why he probably stands no chance at all of being elected.
Ron Paul is by far the best candidate, in my opinion. He's the only candidate from either party who believes in a strict following of the Constitution. He's the only Republican candidate who said in the debates that he would not launch a preemptive nuclear strike against Iran. He smacked down that bully, Rudy G., in the debates. He passed John McCain in fundraising in the last quarter, so at least some people are impressed. I plan to vote for him in the primary election. But he has no chance. That's just reality. American's will never be permitted to elect such a person no matter what it takes to prevent it.
No doubt..I have written him and he wrote back...this was some time ago regarding his stance of going back to the gold standard...it wasnt a form letter...he wrote back! Smart guy, great ideas...will never be president sadly...but you never know...

If Hillary wins, she will be the last president of the United States. The Republic isn't strong enough anymore to survive that sort of abuse.
I must say I am looking more at Ron Paul, I do however need to see more of him and listen to more of what he has to say. And as for Hillary there is no way she will every be President, I do not know what the name of the next President is but I do know it will be a Republican . Bruce.

do a search for a video called 'Ron Paul Ownz the Fed' on utube...there are quite a few great videos of him discussing monetary reform there.
He voted for the DMCA which is a more oneous infringment of human rights than anything mentioned above. BTW - do you ***really*** think any of these canidates will be even 1/3 of the executive of Guilliani? And do you really think NY is not sitting under a threat of a nuclear attack from groups all over the middile east? I have been following Ron Pauls career for many years...I has happy to see him run...he is far and above the most honest, intelligent man to run for president in a looooong time...good solid morals...good solid fiscal conservative...I couldnt think of a better man for my vote...sure hope he makes it on the ballot, I could finally say I didnt have to vote for the lesser of 2 scum.
