Scott Waker - Latest 2016 GOP Hopeful to Flameout Through Illegal Caging Scheme

This and all the other revelations coming to light both when Walker was a Milwaukee elected official and as Governor paint a pretty damning picture for his 2016 ambitions now that Christie looks to be even more corrupt. The head of the RNC Reince Priebus is even implicated in these emails. Are there ANY Right-wingers that aren't corrupt left in this country?

Emails Suggest Walker Aides Ran Illegal Vote-Purging Scheme

Emails released this week appear to show Governor Scott Walker's top aides engaging in an illegal scheme to "cage" Wisconsin voters in the weeks ahead of the 2010 gubernatorial election.
Voter caging is an illegal campaign practice used to purge voters from the rolls. Neighborhoods with large minority concentrations are most typically targeted by caging operations.
On page 15,037 of WalkerDocs 1, an email exchange between Walker staffers Kelly Rindfleisch and Nicole Simmons spells it out pretty plainly.
"If you come this Saturday I can show you how to cage," Simmons writes. "That will be priority on the weekend."
Another email, on page 1,321 of WalkerDocs 2, shows Walker's chief of staff Keith Gilkes ordering Rindfleisch, Fran McLaughlin and Dorothy Moore to bring friends who can help with the caging effort. Here's a screenshot.
"We need cagers for this Saturday, we will have plenty to get caught up on," he wrote in an email sent Oct. 21, 2010. "Please bring friends that are detail oriented and can put in some solid hours."
Walker's aides were also following news about the voter caging efforts, illustrated on pages 14,565 and 14,936 of WalkerDocs 1. They shared one article in particular: The Milwaukee Courier's Oct. 2, 2010 article titled, "GOP joins with Tea Party in illegal effort to steal election."
Outside tea party groups bragged in 2010 that they were joining RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Wisconsin Republican Party to cage voters for Scott Walker, although Priebus denied the charge.

I'm not a Scott Walker fan but he is innocent until proven guilty.


In my opinion he probably is guilty but he is the Governor after all and has the money for big time lawyers.

He'd do well in Illinois. Maybe.

I was searching for any Democrats being charged with caging, and found none in the article. There are quite a few republicans mentioned, including the 2004 and 2008 elections here in my home state (Michigan), but no Democrats.

That suggests that either republicans are guilty of using this method over and over and over, despite the laws created to stop them,...or...the republicans haven't added any examples to the list of Democrats engaging in such tactics themselves.

It's important to note that several republican governments have actually been charged with this chit, but I'd really like to see a more comprehensive list before I say with a greater certainty that this is a republican tactic alone, and not something both parties engage in.

Anyone got a comprehensive list?

 

It just absolutely fascinates me how you keep repeating how guilty Christie is because his staff did ........ Now Walker is guilty because his staff did ........ Yet somehow in your mind Obama is innocent because it was only his staff who did ......... I guess you have disowned Truman.

 

I'm saying nothing of the sort. So far, you've presented the argument that his aides were involved in some sort of scandal. However, the title of your thread implies that Scott Walker himself is "flaming out" because of a scandal. I'm just asking whether you're saying he was involved or not.

First off the emails are many and the investigating is just begun. Amazing how damning it is just scratching the surface. Now, which do you prefer, he was involved and did crime, or he was in charge and failed? Not presidential material. CC all over again. Next!

 

Just to set the record straight, Obama's initials are not "CC".
