Did you catch this evolutionary visionary? http://www.washingtonpost.com/enter...927ccedb6_story.html?tid=pm_entertainment_pop
He didn't intend that to happen. Let that be a warning to everyone (myself included) when taking risks that you know are dangerous. I'm taking a big one now, in fact... ...wish me luck, just not his luck lol
No, but he refused medical treatment. Just as these two zealots did on behalf of two of their children, who suffered the same fate. You just gotta have faith.
He was also worried about another fine, and possible arrest, since they had caught him illegally possessing other snakes the previous year. His "calculated risk" was that he might survive without aid. His faith probably played a large part in that, and likely was the determining factor in his refusal to be treated, but so did the fear of being prosecuted.
"My late father was a snake handler, I'm a snake handler, and my orphans will be snake handlers after I'm a gone..." Geesh!
It's kind of like those people that say humanity has only existed for 5 or 6 thousand years, that all evidence to the contrary is just an illusion created by God. It's really only been 45 years...
