Aren't "credits" and "premiums in accordance with their income level" interchangeable? Aren't they both subsidied rates?

Taking out the double talk, is what moron joe is saying:
"Assuming that they are even eligible for these subsidied rates, which is by no means a given, they still pay subsidied rates based on their income level"

There is some density here for sure...and you are demonstrating it.

As I've said repeatedly, there are many, many people in the workforce that are there ONLY because they need the health insurance coverage that is far, far too expensive to pay for out of pocket. They don't need the income to make it because they have a spouse that works or they have a pension that covers their expenses. They ONLY thing that is killing them is the high cost of buying individual health care. Is that really so damn difficult for you to comprehend? I can only explain this to you so many ways without breaking out the crayons and construction paper. Please have someone in the room read it to you and slap you across the face every time you space out.

    Ok, simple questions:
What's wrong with people who are capable of working, in order to pay for their own healthcare, being expected to do so?
Why should the taxpayers be forced to pay for the healthcare of someone who simply chooses to "stay home" (again, your words)?

Again, you're making the same asinine assumption that someone would impoverish themselves just because they obtained health care. Thank God the the country doesn't march to your pathetic view of the American people.

People everywhere are expected to work to cover their expenses...for some it's healthcare, for others its a mortgage, car payment, tuition, etc. Kinda goes along with that responsibility things, doesn't it?

I'm done answering the same questions for idiots too thick to understand a simple concept and too narrow-minded to believe that people in this country aren't just a bunch of takers.

Done? You never answered in the first place!
It's really quite simple, if you have a need & are able to take care of it yourself, you should. Expecting the gov't (& your fellow citizens) to pay your way when you're capable of doing for yourself is wrong.
Perhaps you should have used better examples than someone who preferred to retire early or stay home with the kids?

If they aren't eligible for those subsidies, there is no way they can retire early. Obama has raised the taxes (yes, Obamacare is FULL of taxes) and raised the price of insurance (and I don't mean it is more or less than the government expected). The "disincentive for people to work" is and only is the subsidy.

I have issues with it, along those lines, but in general the ACA is going to provide relief for those who suffer the most, and I'm on board solely because of that.

That said, there are a lot of issues to address in the act, but those can't really be addressed until the Democrats achieve enough power to make the changes....and they better make those changes.

How in the F#@* do you come up with a stupid statement like that and not fall over dead by forgetting to breath? Plenty of people can afford to retire before they reach 65. My wife's secretary is retiring in June and she is in her mid 50's. She has worked for over 35 years and built herself a pension to live on. Her husband did the same thing and they own a home here and in Florida and raised three kids. If they had to go out on the open market and pay for health care, they couldn't afford to retire. With the affordable choices through the ACA, they can easily retire and they will not be subsidized in anyway. Why in the hell is this so hard for you to understand? My wife alone has put over a half a million dollars into her SURS retirement account in the last 25 years with matching contributions from her employer. She is still going to work for 10 more years and can retire at any point. Is saving for retirement a foreign concept to you guys? Some of do just that.

If you would bother to actually get some facts you could learn the Obamacare has pretty much doubled the insurance costs with higher deductibles and higher copays. So if you could not afford to retire prior to Obamacare, you do not not have a prayer in ---- now.

Perhaps you should actually read the CBO report. A few facts wouldn't make you look any dumber. To paraphrase, some people will opt to leave the workforce because they no longer have to worry about the high cost of getting health care coverage on the open market at extremely high prices. Your own personal delusion that Obamacare has made obtaining health insurance coverage more expensive is well, just that, your own personal delusion or probably some nonsense you heard from one of your Right-wing sources.

Yes, I am sure some will gladly join the welfare society, but the majority of the work force will be stuck paying for those takers.

That points out the main problem with the idiots on the Right. Even while being beaten to death over some issue, they still see themselves as "winning" ala Charlie Sheen. Too funny.

Maybe that is why they are in such disarray? Ya think?

So even though we present you with facts and quotes, you think you are correct just because you can insult the opposition? And now the latest - Obama is thinking of postponing the business mandate for 2 more years. IOW he cannot fix it so he is kicking the bucket down the road to the next president. Oh, and violating the Constitution while doing so.

The current level of welfare wouldn't be necessary if people understood Greed better.

We need to prevent those who suffer the most, those who are most in need of assistance, from starving or freezing to death, asap. Food stamps are essential, as is Medicaid. Unemployment insurance should be extended, to provide some temporary relief, as well as to provide a boost to the economy.

The ACA is OK, but it needs "tweaking", something that can only be done when the Democrats gain more power, since it's obvious that the republicans refuse to help the less fortunate in any meaningful way.

We definitely need more jobs, but the republicans still think that silly "Trickle-Down" theory is valid. It isn't. It caused the problem, and it's still causing harm. It's best we remove that from the economic equation entirely, but carefully, so as not to kill the patient, so-to-speak..

Stricter regulations and rules regarding trade and commerce are required to provide jobs here in America, rather than in other countries. Corporations are basing themselves wherever they can to avoid having to pay taxes, taxes which help our government thrive. They build their factories in foreign lands and hire foreign workers instead of Americans, meaning fewer jobs for us, and we need some of those jobs back, asap. I'm all for supporting other countries too, but not at the expense of ourselves...we can't help them if our own system is weak. It's too much of a burden to do both, at the moment anyway, but when we get stronger, we can do more to help other countries too, as they need our support.

I suggest any incentives for corporations to base their work-force elsewhere in the World be reduced, or eliminated completely, at least in the short-term. Possible ways of doing that are endless, but making it more difficult to ship products into America may be a place to start. The goal is to reduce imports, and provide jobs here in America, so that welfare can be reduced, so that people, all of us really, don't have to suffer needlessly.

The Mid-Terms are approaching, I suggest we endorse the Democrats, if only to act that much quicker than waiting for the 2016 elections, where the Democrats really need to win.

If we want a healthier economy, Democrats need control, and that's the best way to go about getting it done, rather than relying on that idiotic "Trickle-Down theory", which should be clear to all by now to be the biggest reason our economy is faltering. It's essential that we reverse direction, so-to-speak, and prevent that ridiculous "theory" from continuing to cause our "heart" harm. Maybe an operation is in order. The patient's on the gurney, and on the way to the operating room as we speak. ;) Let's hope the "docs" have the proper skills. We don't want to kill the patient!

Above all, more must be done to prevent those most vulnerable to financial crisis from slipping back into that lovely little hell-hole known as poverty. I suggest restoring the "Collective Bargaining Agreement", increasing food stamp eligibility, etc. etc. etc. and send people like Walker and the Koch brother a message that even their tiny little brains can understand: "Go @#$% yourselves." ;)
