I wonder what the people of Wisconsin think of walker now. This is the type of leader Illinois need to keep them out of bankruptcy, but people like Mr. RB will not hear of it.
Walker has demonstrated that not only does the State House belong to the people, but the money does too. Walker has shown that he's the furthest thing from a "tyrant" or "dictator" (as Little Joe put it). If, as Little Joe desired, the State House had been burnt to the ground, the people of Wisconsin would be spending their money rebuilding it instead of having it refunded to them to spend as they please. Way to go, Governor Walker!
I see nothing wrong with him refunding the tax payer but as I am somewhat of a cynic I wonder if he will do the same if they have a surplus in a non election year?
It's even worse that that. The vast majority of what gets returned gets returned to the wealthiest of the wealthy while the average Joe ends up with 10 bucks.
Too bad they don't buy down their structural deficit with it. They are taking money from their children.
Here's another fact for you.... ...according to Kiplinger's.... ....of the Top 10 states in job growth, 8 have Republican governors...Utah, Nevada, South Dakota, Idaho, Florida, Texas, North Carolina & Arizona. The 2 dim-led states are Hawaii & Colorado. Our recovery is being fueled by the Republicans apparently.
Allow me to repeat what Gov. Walker said in case you missed it. He said, "What do you do with a surplus? Give it back to the people who earned it. It's your money." Now, why are you finding fault? The people paid their taxes, a surplus was built up and now the governor is returning the surplus to the people to reinvest into the economy, save it or spend any way they wish. I'm failing to see how your "naysayer" and "doomsday" attitude applies to this situation.
"Fox News hyped Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's economic record, claiming that the governor's economic plan generated a nearly $1 billion budget surplus while ignoring that the current surplus is built upon a projected structural deficit and that the state ranks 28th in the nation for job creation under Walker's tenure. " from media matters. So why do you bring those others into this WI thread? You are back to your non relevant one trick pony show.
more from there: "The Legislative Fiscal Bureau: Under Walker's Budget, Wisconsin's Structural Deficit Would Grow To $725 Million. A non-partisan analysis of Walker's most recent budget concluded that the Governor's proposed tax cuts would increase the state's budget shortfall over the coming years. Walker's tax plan hyped by Fox would in fact cost the state $180 million and would ultimately turn the touted surplus into a deficit by 2017. [The Legislative Fiscal Bureau, 10/15/13] Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: Walker's "Overall Plan Would Leave The State In Worse Financial Shape In The Long Run." A January 22 article in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel pointed out that Walker's budget would increase the state's long-term deficit:" Some poor Democrat will probably inherit the future mess like BHO did.
Utah receives $1.25 for every dollar collected in federal tax. Nevada receives $1.10 for every dollar collected in federal tax. South Dakota receives $1.58 for every dollar collected in federal tax. Idaho receives $1.65 for every dollar collected in federal tax. Florida receives $1.20 for every dollar collected in federal tax. North Carolina receives $1.13 for every dollar collected in federal tax. Arizona receives $1.46 for every dollar collected in federal tax. (source) ___________________________ I guess "our recovery" is being fueled by the federal government. Oh, the socialist horror of it all. ETA: Wisconsin receives $1.03 for every dollar collected in federal taxes. Another bastion of socialism.
Go read the whole thing for yourself. Jesus Scott Walker Christ has really saved those poor guys in WI http://mediamatters.org/research/2014/01/27/what-fox-wont-tell-you-about-scott-walkers-econ/197776 Who is your next candidate?
...and now that you have focused on WI, what a fine example King W is. Colorado born son of a preacher HS grad - college dropout funded by out of sate money, propped up into the job by the far right not the people of Wisconsin. Should be the model for all states eh?
