Washington representative slams Arizona as ‘racist wasteland’ after Seahawks’ loss to Cardinals

The Seattle Seahawks lost 17-10 to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and many fans of the team didn't take it well. Now, you can debate whether fans booing a team that's won 14 straight at home have high expectations, or are spoiled rotten. But what's not up for debate is that you should think before you tweet.
Consider Joe Fitzgibbon, a Democratic state representative whose district includes Seattle. In the wake of Seattle's loss, Fitzgibbon popped off on Twitter in a way he'd soon regret. He deleted the tweet, but oh, guess what ... the Washington State Republican party got a screengrab, and shared it:
Seriously. This is 2013. People still haven't figured out that Twitter broadcasts your every typed thought to the entire world? A politician, of all people, ought to be aware of how even innocent words get parsed and turned against the user, to say nothing of a phrase like "desert racist wasteland."

LOL...I hate to admit...it took me a moment to "get it".

 

If ever I'm accused of racism, I'll start talking NASCAR or whether or not I believe in pari-mutuel betting, mainly because their little accusations never deserves an intelligent response.
