My local paper has a section called Quickly. Basically anonymous quotes by readers. Oft times they are not really worth all that much but I really liked this one and decided to share it. "Dear God, help me to worry less about putting the "Christ" back in Christmas and worry more about putting the "Christ" back in Christian."
Wow! That is scarey Clembo. I could have been the one who wrote that quote. I didn't but I have said the same thing often. I don't know if I read it somewhere or not but it is one of those quotes at really cuts to the core of the issue. I saw a bumpersticker the other day that said, "When do I get to vote on your marriage?" Thought for food as Cobert says.
I always give at least $1000/year to both The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army...more when tragic events occur. I used to give that much again to the United Way...until all their scandals surfaced. Integrity and ethics are important to me. When I go shopping during the Christmas season, I add an additional $10-$20 to each Santa's kettle I pass. I think it's a travesty that stores won't let the Salvation Army or the Red Cross volunteers dress up in Santa costumes. I don't shop at stores that outlaw Christmas Santa's.
I worked for the Alzheimer's Assocation years ago and worked with a guy that came from the Salvation Army. He told me horror story after horror story about his previous employer. Chapter directors more than once stole all the money they had raised and burned down the building to cover their theft. That wasn't even the bad part. Even when these directors admitted to what they had done to the organization, they were not only not fired but they were put in charge of another chapter. The organization just didn't want the bad publicity. There was one bell ringer last week that was caught for stealing as much as $1000 from his kettle and also found a wallet outside of the store he was posted at and tried to use the credt cards to buy merchandise. My coworker at the Alzheimer's Assocation said that he wouldn't give the Salvation Army the time of day much less money.
I HATE stories like that...stealing from the needy is despicable. However, take private charity fraud and multiply it by 1,000,000 and that's what you get in Medicaid fraud alone!! Obamacare will be off the charts! Here's some stories about your precious Democratic "Leaders" caught lining their pockets a the expense of the needy, then being allowed to skate away with a slap on the wrist...despicable! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/07/us/07baltimore.html?_r=0 http://www.wtop.com/41/2779846/Leslie-Johnson-joins-list-of-famous-inmates-at-Camp-Cupcake
Yakpoo, it's probably not a true story anyway. Little Joe has been known to make up stories like this. Just sayin'.
Let's see... you tell us a story about an incident from years ago about a guy who knew a guy who stole from the Salvation Army. Then you post a news article from December 5, 2013 which, somehow, is supposed to make us believe your original story. Ummmm... no. We are all well aware of your tendency to make up stories, Little Joe. I hate to be the one who tells you this, but if you cry "wolf" too often, people stop paying attention.
The Sally Ann (Pet name over here for the Salvation Army) does stirling work here in the UK it is one of the few that I will give to without having to think about it. Nikki's mom was a member in her younger years and had nothing but praise for them, you never hear of scandels etc with the UK lot
We have had stories of thieving bastards stealing charity boxes even quite recently one was stolen from a undertakers who was raising money for wounded soldiers
Who is "we"? You mean that you are ingratiating your opinion to everyone else here. If I am a liar as you claim prove it or shut up. Here is why I do not support them... Salvation Army Media Director: Gays Should Be Put To Death Full story here: http://www.queerty.com/salvation-army-director-says-gays-should-be-put-to-death-20120625/#ixzz2mzqGzEcJ
Were it solely up to me, I would ONLY contribute to the Salvation Army. They and the Red Cross used to be the 2 leaders in % of funds reaching the intended. Then I heard a story about the Red Cross. At a flood event, both RC and SA were there helping with the clean up. The RC was SELLING coffee to all the workers while the SA was GIVING them coffee.
I didn't say you were lying about this particular story. I said you have a tendency to make up stories (that's true) which makes it difficult to believe you. If you had never made up stories in the past, it would be easier to believe you now. Do you see how that works?
Again, prove it or shut your pie hole. I don't give a rat's ass whether you believe me or not. If I did make up stories in the past, trot them out and show me your proof. I have consistently admitted to anything that I have posted that was untrue but posted anyway to prove a point. I don't have to lie about anything, I have the unvarnished truth and historical accuracy you will never have. If the Right didn't twist history and falsify the past, what else would you have? Nothing!
WOW! Zimmerman was guilty? Illinois had their budget fixed by the Democrats? You can keep your doctor? You can keep your health care? Republicans haven't passed any bills? How many summers of recovery were there? Etc.
Thanks for admitting that. I don't have the time or inclination to search your posts, but anyone who has been involved on this site will remember when you posted untrue stories and then later admitted they were made up. For the record, no I don't believe your stories.
Whoa!!! Wait a minute! Don't YOU live in Naperville? ...and isn't your name Joe?! As a Democrat, I expect a lot of evil things from you...but this is just TOO MUCH!!!
That would be eugenics. I know YOU support eugenics, but not me...not even for fudge-packers...(nope). You ever notice that JoeNation seems to be against ANY benevolent, charitable organization that's not Government run. Why is that, Joe? Joe even goes as far as to post articles from "www.queerty.com" to make his points! A while back, Joe was defending sodomy...(it's all starting to come clear).
