We have FOX decrying the war on Christmas (AGAIN!) while at the same time condemning the poor, the Pope, and heralding all the deploring materialism that has become the hallmark of Christmas in this country.

We have Groups like the Koch Brothers running Ads encouraging young people to NOT buy health insurance while at the same time ignoring their long touted mantra of personal responsibility.

We have Ted Cruz bleating about the national debt while at the same time intentionally shutting down the Federal government and adding $24 billion to that debt.

I could go on all day but when hypocrisy is this open and this plentiful, the Right-wing trolls in this forum just make my fun so easy. Don't be too hard on them. It's really not that they aren't being big enough dicks, it's more that they just have nothing to work with to defend themselves.

No argument there since he's admitted it in the past and even alludes to it in this very thread. Seems to me a member with a username a lot like yours used to do just that occasionally in the past and admit to it. In that aspect I guess nothing has changed.

Something that has changed IMHO is the group of "conservatives" here. Judging by the responses given to "commie Joe" I don't see anyone here that fits the "conservative" mold.

Conversely, I have also stated that I have voted Republican in the past and would do so again given the right candidate. I hold to that and have no reason to lie about it.

To your credit I recall your unabashed opinions of John McCain and Sarah Palin. You've stated that you voted for that "dirtbag" George Bush twice. Hell, I did once myself.

HollysMom once stated on this forum that people tend to vote AGAINST people instead of FOR people. Very true and she had the potential to be a good "conservative" on this forum.
Unfortunately, to me anyway, when everyone didn't just agree with her she got mad and took her ball home.

What about Romney? He had a better chance than McCain for sure but fell short.

Now there's a lot of talk about Ted Cruz. It's still very early of course but I might suggest the Republican party start looking a lot harder. I'd vote for Romney over Cruz in a heartbeat myself.

Oh Jack! I absolutely love your drive-by posts. Although I just wish that the assessment of your cohort were a little better aimed and frankly a little better thought out before you posted. All you end up doing is accusing me of doing the same thing everyone else here does and then spewing anger at your own cohort for falling for it.

Do you know why everyone here uses these tactics? Because there is no actual interest is discussing issues. Anyone new members that show up inevitably end up walking away because of the lack of any real conversation. Peter should really just change the name of this forum to Snipefest because that is all that goes on here. One snipe after another.

I've accepted that this forum will never be any kind of real debate and just come here to be snarky because that is all this forum is good for. Everyone here is guilty regardless of what they think of themselves. You pop in here every once in awhile and angrily spew condemnation of both sides without ever realizing that the real intent behind the posts. If you would just accept that this isn't a forum that will ever entertain the ideals of debate, issue discussion, and genuine conversation because it isn't what the most frequent contributors want, you will feel your anger drain away. I have tried to have actual discussion here, also. I believe that both sides (if they are sincere) can get what they want by repealing the 16th Amendment (Income Tax) and replacing it with a more stable National Consumption Tax (The Fair Tax). That boosts business and job creation while expanding the tax base beyond our borders.

Unfortunately, Liberals on this site aren't interested in discussing anything other than increased spending funded by increased taxes on the middle class, while letting the truly rich to skate through the cracks. The increased spending isn't intended to actually help anyone; it's purpose is to buy votes. Liberals are like crack dealers getting their customer base "hooked"...the first taste is always free!

They then make ridiculous claims that skew reality to support their narrative. Conservatives historically ignore these ridiculous statements...believing that no one is stupid enough to believe them. The reality is that folks believe what they want to believe. When they get checks from the Government, they will support any narrative that continues the payments.

So when JoeNation or IQless or MSNBC says something ridiculous, Conservatives now feel a responsibility to through the BS flag and highlight the negative results of Liberal/Progressive policies. We don't want to be there, but Liberal/Progressives are REALLY screwing up the country.

I have to admit that my eye glaze over when I see one more of these phony, self-aggrandizing screeds that simply begs the question; Why can you never do one iota of introspection yet criticizing others for their opinions comes so easy and so often.
