Neither of the big box political parties support critical thinking. It gets in the way of the circus. When I was young, I was a Democrat, as I grew older I became a Republican, now I know better and have a hard time telling them apart.
When you expanded the scope of goods and services provided by government - the goods and serviecs provided prior to the expansion have to receive less future funding else there is no money avialable to pay for the new expansion.
I don't buy the, "They are both guilty" mantra in this situation. I see on a daily basis the anti-intellectualism, the attacking of teachers, the defunding of education across the board by one party. And rarely do I see any politician with "D" after their name knocking education.
"Critical Thinking" is best left to post secondary education...when the students are more mentally developed to evaluate assimilate the information presented. Earlier than that and the "Educators" are merely imprinting their social biases on impressionable minds...(aka. brainwashing). Grades K-12...the grades I'm paying for, are best spent teaching the basics of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Art, and Science. In fact, effective technical writing is a skill needed in nearly every profession, yet rarely taught in High School. That's how I would like to see my tax dollars spent.
LOL.. yeah... Have you never seen that video? It's one of which the Lefties don't like being reminded. MMMM MMMM MMMM.. Barack Hussein Obama! What a joke.
Fine...as long as it's practiced ethically. Meaning...by people other than unethical Progressives and Communists.
Actually, there is a group of Conservative Democrats that I admire (have admired) greatly (e.g. Joe Lieberman, Joe Manchin, Ernest Hollings, etc)
Yes, I'm sure communists are a big problem. Heaven help us all. Because the red tide is just sweeping across the world. Lordy Lordy...is this the 1970's again?
Hospitals have experienced a reduction in gov't funding yet are expected to provide a better product at a lower cost. We should require the same from colleges & universities. We need to stem the tide of runaway tuitions and curb the explosion of student loans. Luckily, contrary to moron joe's lies, my wife & I have planned well & can afford to send our girls to the college of their choice (and we hope to find ourselves in a position where we are paying for advanced degrees, as well) even though both are likely to earn athletic and/or academic scholarships.
The "takeover" won't be from outside...but from within. Let's see...since 1963, how many of these goals have been achieved... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Naked_Communist
Of course you saved all that money. That's why every couple of months you start another thread about tuition and complain bitterly about how expensive it is. That sounds exactly like someone who has put away all the cash they need for their kids education. Right! You are such a transparent lying phony it sometimes makes me laugh. Let us all know exactly how did you put away all that money and how much was it? I'm sure that you wouldn't mind spelling out what a financial genius you are. Go ahead and lay it on us. Right! Two more things you should know Cletus. Athletic scholarships are few and far between especially for girls. Academic scholarships rarely cover much more than a small amount of the tuition and none of the fees. They don't cover room and board and they usually are only for the first two years. Lastly, with your gene pool, I really wouldn't worry about advanced degrees. Probably not going to be an issue.
