What lies? ...name one! CBS retracted a 60 Minutes story based on the account of a person who lied to make money. That in no way alters the actions of the Administration leading up to, during, and after the tragedy. That's what needs to be investigated. Just because this guy lied about his part in the attack doesn't absolve the Administration of their responsibility to explain what actually happened. 1. Why was security lax leading up to the anniversary of 911...after the British closed their embassy? 2. Why were Ambassador Steven's numerous requests for additional security leading up to the attack...ignored? 3. Why did the firefight go on for over six (6) hours and folks at the CIA compound a mile away were told to "stand down" three (3) times before they finally disobeyed orders and went to the aid of the Consulate (saving over 30 lives)? 4. Why, in an email sent the very next day (9-12) to all major heads in the State Department (including the General Consul for Hillary Clinton), did Beth Jones (Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs) say she told the President of Libya that the attack was the result of a terrorist attack by Ansar al Shiriah, an Islamic Terrorist organization with ties to Al Qaeda? 5. Why did Ambassador Susan Rice, days later, go on five (5) Sunday morning programs saying the attack was the result of a spontaneous uprising over an anti-Islamic video...knowing that wasn't the truth? 6. Why did the Administration, knowing those talking points were inaccurate, continue to repeat them for two (2) weeks...until they were completely debunked? 7. Why, a year later, won't the Administration release any of the documents and emails to Congress? 8. Why did the Washington Post, a Liberal newspaper, give the Administration their highest rating of four (4) Pinochios for his untruthful statements about Benghazi? Joe...can you answer any of these questions or are they based on "Republican lies"? If so, which ones and why? Please give us more than your usual... "Everyone knows this is just another racist Tea Party witch hunt against our President and I don't need to justify my opinions to you and your ilk"
All of that can easily be summarized in why doesn't the Obama administration release all the info regarding Benghazi. It is probably too late to end all the conspiracy theories out there, but it could go a long way in that direction.
Hillary Clinton blames a lack of Congressional funding for the Benghazi Attack... "...but we need to look Forward".
Conspiracy nuts are NEVER satisfied much less by those they perceive as the very people trying to keep the truth from them.
Congress is pursuing their oversight responsibility when asking to see State Department documents surrounding the Benghazi Attack. Are you saying that the US Congress is "a bunch of Conspiracy Nuts"? "Secretary Clinton...people don't bring RPGs and Mortar launchers to "spontaneous demonstrations. That's a fundamental."...John McCain.
There is pursuing oversight responsibilities and there are witch hunts in the political theater. Guess which one we have? Issa is doing nothing more Dan Burton did to the Clinton's except he is Dan Burton on steroids. Remember in 1997, when House Reform and Oversight Committee Chairman Dan Burton made it his raison d’être to unseat then-President Bill Clinton, a quest that involved accusing Clinton of everything from doctoring fundraiser tapes to selling burial plots in Arlington National Cemetery. Burton also once shot a watermelon in his backyard as part of a recreation of the alleged murder of Vince Foster. “For years, Dan Burton’s whole reason for being was to try to find a way to take down the presidency of Bill Clinton using the powers of his own office in the House. It is what Republicans do. They care nothing for this country or honesty or integrity but never fail to engage single-minded ideologically driven witch hunts whenever Democrats are in the White House.
Bush did lie...provably. He knew that the yellow cake was a lie and he put it in his speech anyway. That is history, provable history.
To me, a lie implies he knew it was not correct. It is also provable that Bush did not. On the other hand, it is provable (by his own words!) that Obama knew we could not keep our insurance or doctors. PERIOD!
So you give Bush a pass because he was fed lies and then spewed those lies to us to take us into an unnecessary war but Obama is a minion of the underworld for not spelling out that if insurers changed their policies after the law went into effect, they would not be allowed to sell those crap health insurance policies? How do you actually know what Obama "knew"? You can read his mind? Or is it that you are just a partisan idiot attributing your beliefs and prejudices to your political enemies? Hum? Again, HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT OBAMA KNEW?
So you give Obama a pass because Dudya lied. Yet you do not give Dudya a pass eventhough Obama lied. Or isit that you are just a partisan idiot attributing your beliefs and prejudices to your political enemies?Hum?
I heard him in meeting speaking to Eric Cantor - full tape - admitting that there would be 4-5 million lose the health care insurance. And, no, I will not look it up for you. Problem is that does not even count the 100M+ who will lose their health insurance next year when business mandate kicks in. Oh, and all of this was delivered to him in person from the insurance companies. And published by the CBO. And present in the House by Mike Enzi. See How stupid are BO's Obamacare defenders? As for Bush, it has been shown here MANY times that both Clinton and Britain presented the same information. Bush's mistake apparently was to believe the liberals.
There's certainly a political element involved...no question, but do you think the questions I put to you are designed to bring down a President? No...I don't have that kind of power or influence (wish I had). You say the Republicans are "lying" and I just want to know what those lies are. Why are there so many discrepancies and why isn't the Administration willing to provide the documentation necessary to clear everything up? I'm also surprised you don't see this as an issue worth pursuing...independent of political motivation. Here's what Joe Lieberman (D/I-CT) had to say on the matter...from an independent British newscast.
Specifically, what discrepancies? I think situations like these have the potential to amount to an infinite number of questions. I have no problem with questions. I have a problem when the questions being asked only lead to the goal posts being moved further down the field in order to create a drip-drip narrative vastly unjustified by answers already received. At some point, the absurd questions have to end and that is the point that the accusations of a cover-up surface. The goal becomes de-legitimizing an administration and paralyzing it's ability to function and nothing more. You're not stupid, you know what is happening here. This isn't the first time this has been done in politics. It won't be the last. I know that you can't admit as much in this forum but it is the truth no less.
