Has anyone ever heard any Right-winger leaders mention these patient's rights? Creates the Health Insurance Marketplace, a new way for individuals, families, and small businesses to get health coverage Requires insurance companies to cover people with pre-existing health conditions Helps you understand the coverage you’re getting Holds insurance companies accountable for rate increases Makes it illegal for health insurance companies to arbitrarily cancel your health insurance just because you get sick Protects your choice of doctors Covers young adults under 26 Provides free preventive care Ends lifetime and yearly dollar limits on coverage of essential health benefits Guarantees your right to appeal But approximately 3% of the 15-20% of people that will actually need to buy insurance through this program may have to get different insurance coverage because they have junk policies that do not meet these patient standards. Rather than tout all the new rights patients have gained under this law, the Right-wing hate machine would rather talk about the relatively few people that have to find a new health policy that does meet these standards. They prefer to spend their time bashing the guy who fought to these basic health coverage standards. Wonder why they would do that? Politics?
If Obamacare will actually deliver on all the "promises" you list there, why do we need the IRS to herd people into it? All Aboard the Obamacare Express!!!
Because of people like the guy from the Midwest I heard on the radio this morning. He said, "I am a farmer and I don't want no government telling me I have to buy health insurance." When they asked him what he would do if his arm were cut off in a combine accident? "He said that he already paid enough taxes and that was enough." The host pointed out that taxes do not go to health care... well unless people like him show up without insurance. I guess if I bought the premise that the big bad IRS will be tracking people down and sending them to health care prison or some other nonsense, I'd say it is because of guys like him. Dumb as the dirt he is plowing.
There are a group of young folks (former Obama Supporters) that will pay $100+ per month for "bronze plans" with $5000 deductibles (Essentially...no insurance). Otherwise, they can choose to have the penalty "tax" taken from their income tax return...that's always an option. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ss-early-renewal-affordable-care-act/3360851/ It amazes me that anyone is so gullible as to believe the Liberal talking point of...
A farmer getting their arm cut-off by a combine would be considered a workplace injury. Most medical insurance plans exclude workplace injuries. Has Obamacare changed this?
I don't believe that your privately owned farm is considered a "workplace". It certainly is for you if you happen to own the farm but I seriously doubt farms are treated like factories, or restaurants, or department stores, since the farmer owns the business and is the sole employee. If he were to hire someone, then it would be a workplace and he'd need to carry liability insurance for any employees. Or he'd lose his farm to the first accident victim that worked on his property.
Really? I guess the plumber I hire cannot have a work place either. The lawn mower? The roofer? The mechanic? And on and on. I am glad you think they don't work. The rest of us live in this reality.
Do you ever think before you post? Just curious. It certainly doesn't seem like you put an iota of thought into your nonsense.
What the ACA has to do with Work Injury Compensation I have no idea. I think you might be conflating health insurance with worker's comp. But here is a good article that basically "speculates" on the consequences of the ACA on worker's comp. http://www.forbes.com/sites/cheryls.../will-workers-compensation-survive-obamacare/
The hospital where my wife works announced yesterday that they will be cutting services on Jan 1, due to Obamacare's reduction in reimbursements on Medicare/Medicaid patients. They have (had) a charitable program that assists folks with expenses that insurance & Medicare don't usually cover but it will cease in Jan.
That's a funny story since Kentucky opted for Medicaid expansion which increases the number of people that qualify for the program. So rather than a reduction in Medicaid, there is a sizable expansion in your state. Hum? More lies? http://governor.ky.gov/healthierky/medicaid/Pages/default.aspx
More people in the system doesn't mean more or better reimbursement to the hospitals though, does it? Right now there's a 30% deficiency on Medicaid reimbursement per patient. If you reduce the reimbursement per patient then add more patients to the system (all at the reduced reimbursement rates), the deficiency gap widens. How long is this sustainable?
You are the person who provided the example of the dumb as dirt farmer getting their arm cut-off by a combine in context with the ACA. That being the case - I thought maybe you knew the answer to the question.
The hospital operates 2 facilities...the original hospital facility downtown & a newer, more modern campus in the suburbs. There has been discussion around making the older hospital the Medicaid/Medicare facility & the newer one used for treating patients who have their own private insurance. I wonder if this de facto segregration is what BO envisioned when he set out to transform the system?
Again, a farmer working on his own land has nothing to do with worker's comp which has next to nothing to do with the ACA according to the article I linked to. Conflate much?
I'm guessing that your argument ran out of steam since you have given up providing any substance and simply attacked an aspect of my character you can't possibly have any knowledge of....Except, I'm not really guessing. This is how all of you nonsense plays out and why I have no respect for your idiotic opinions. Just sayin'.
