I'm flabbergasted, Takiji. You're the only flaming liberal on here with even half a brain. At least you present a fairly fun discussion from time to time even though you're usually on the wrong side of the argument (abortion, marriage equality, etc.). But, that's what has made it so entertaining talking with you. Discussions are just about to get really interesting with the 2014 elections coming up and a possible Hitlery Clinton presidential run after that. So, don't give up on me; I'm sure I can teach you a thing or two.

I've softened my stance (believe it or not), but still feel the law, as it's practiced in many cases, is horrific. All the issues you bring up are valid, but I think we make improvement through better education. I don't believe that making abortions or morning-after pills available to minors without parental consent is a move in the right direction. It seems like Planned Parenthood focuses more on promoting sexual liberalism than personal responsibility.

I don't like the idea of Government forcing anyone to do anything. However, a woman has choices, both before and after conception. If it gets to the point where Government needs to step in to protect the developed infant, she should be prepared to deal with the consequences of her choices.

"Freedom of Choice" doesn't mean "Freedom from Responsibility"

Should doesn't mean can or will. As long as we aren't punishing the kid for the sins and shortcomings of the mother. It's the child who suffers most when his or her parents won't or can't deal with the consequences of their choices.

Takiji...I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to my opinions and engage is such a reasoned exchange of opinions...it's refreshing. I'll be in the Philadelphia area for the next two (2) weeks and don't know if I'll have time to keep up with the discussion. If I don't respond, please don't think I'm not interested or ignoring your posts.

When I return, I hope we can examine the pros and cons of Eugenics...past, present, and future. Now that we have universal healthcare, eugenics will become more popular as a means of holding down costs...perhaps, but there are some HUGE ethical issues that need to be considered.

Hey, yakpoo, I'm kind of refreshed myself. I'm going to have to rethink my reasons for coming here.

As for Eugenics, private health insurance companies have been using this method of holding down health costs for years. They call it denial of coverage. And it's worked pretty well for them. I don't know if it will be more or less of an issue going forward.

If the government is paying it seems it would kind of depend on our Congresspeople and the "Merikan People" in general and what solutions and procedures they are advocating and willing to foot the bill for.

Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until I return to Denver to engage fully. I'm on the East coast for a couple of weeks and somewhat busy.

I got a laugh tonight driving back to the hotel...DC 100.3 is a classic rock station I like to listen to when I'm in town. Their tag line now is...

"If you like your Classic Rock, you can keep it...PERIOD!" :D

LOL. I think this phrase has now entered our lexicon and we're all worse off for it. It's sort of like Clinton's, "I did not have sex with that woman".

I just wouldn't think that the same people that have told every lie imaginable about the Affordable Care Act since it's inception would actually be as offended by something they perceive as a lie. Even if Obama intended to create a complete and total lie and pull the wool over everyone's eyes, the fact that the same people that have told lie after lie during this entire process think that they get to be indignant about any "lie" is ridiculous.

So...are you finally admitting he lied? (Go ahead...it's OK)
