So...if Republicans act more responsibly than Democrats...that means they "caved"?

That's a pretty unique interpretation. You mean if the Republicans put down the matches and the can of gasoline they are being more responsible? Again, that's one way to look at it. But you courageously didn't answer the question again. You know that's how I know I'm winning. Cowardice is just such an obvious sign that you have nothing.

It's a small minority in the party holding the rest hostage. The mainstream republicans aren't for this any more than the democrats. We're seeing it to the extreme in the state and local levels as extremists are targeting party line republicans who speak out about just that.

This is what's so amazing about Liberals...they can't deal with reality, so they create an imaginary, parallel universe that's similar to reality, but with some "tweeks" so they can deal with it. They repeat their parallel reality to where enough Liberals believe it and it becomes reality...in their minds, anyway.

This is a perfect example of Liberal delusional behavior...

The Debt ceiling was created to enforce fiscal discipline on the Federal Government. After buying votes with all sorts for pork that can't possibly be paid, they (Progressives in BOTH parties) scream "Bloody Murder! We MUST fund our commitments!!"...when the debt ceiling is reached. Everyone is to blame except them. They label anyone enforcing the law as "Extreme", "Terrorist", Anarchist", "Hostage Taker" etc, etc...

Their solution is to rob future generations because..."Who cares?...they don't vote, yet".

They will never say "My Bad...what can we do to fix this problem?" That response is left in the "real" reality they jettisoned to the dark side of the Moon. They can't deal with THAT reality.

What does that have to do with my quote? Talk about delusional....

That's the point...your comment is delusional. There's no way to comment on it without accepting your delusion as truth.

That's like asking someone, "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

That question can't be answered by someone who's never beaten their wife.

    ...or "domestic partner"...(sheeze!)

And would you still say they acted "more responsible"? Because they didn't blow us all up? I would hope that you feel the same way if someone were holding a gun to your head. "Oh look, that guy was responsible because he didn't shoot me." Never mind that you had to put up with standing there not knowing if he was going to pull the trigger.... All is well now. Somehow, I doubt you'd call him responsible.

You just keep repeating your ridiculous mantra until you and your ilk believe it. Let me see if I can explain it in terms you might understand...

    1. There's a law (passed by Congress and signed by President Obama) colloquially known as "The Debt Ceiling".
    2. The first Debt Ceiling law was passed in 1917, during WWI, to help the Executive Branch fund the war more efficiently. Prior to 1917, each bond issue had to be approved by Congress.
    3. Changes to the Debt Ceiling law are not automatic. The law is designed to be obeyed or modified only under a negotiated settlement.
    4. The Obama Administration and Liberals in Congress are holding the country hostage by refusing to negotiate.

If you think we should get rid of the Debt Ceiling law, I'm all for it. Congress passes laws then appropriates funds. Just because a law passes doesn't automatically mean it's funded. If we scrap the Debt Ceiling law, that simply means that each bond issue receives a separate Congressional vote.

    ...GREAT!!
