It's time to start relearning the lessons of the Gingrich shutdown.

This program brought to you by the Tea Party Caucus and Ted Cruz.

Turns out that the train wreck was the Tea Party Express after all.

This is exactly why stupidity can never triumph. The adults step in.

I think if the Republicans would piecemeal the things the public is aware of (like back pay - which is done - and opening the monuments and funding medical trials for the kids) and then, very publicly, propose something like the immediate repeal of ALL, temporary or not, waivers to the ACA in order to fund the rest of the government, they could win this battle...in public opinion anyway.

That is one of the more foolish things that you could believe. People recognize them for the entrenched ideologues that they are.

It would help us to respond to your question/observation if you provide a link to your reference article.

I googled the title you provided...The Huffington Post? ...really?

Arianna Huffington is your brain trust? Although, I have to say, there may be some truth to what she says...the Liberal media certainly paints the Republicans in a bad light.

No matter...it's best to stand up for what's right rather than worry about the next election. Progressive policies are running the country into the ground. Voters (even you) will figure it out eventually.

If I actually wanted to know what your opinions were or the opinions of any of the other dysfunctional entrenched fanatical Right-wing ideologues on this forum, I'd tune into FOX. Your opinions do not differ from FOX at all. Why would I need to hear them again. How about NOT responding instead? How about NOT following me around like a love sick puppy dog? How about ignoring me completely? How about if you stop pretending to be a political superhero and saving the damsels in distress from the wickedness of the other side? I've found that there is no speaking to ideologues on a mission from God. They tend to just be myopically focused on their goal of saving the world. Don Quixote didn't listen to others but was willing to pontificate endlessly. What YOU will figure out eventually is that I have no interest in your point of view, your opinions, or any of your responses. None of you. I'm all for dialogue with sane people just not with anyone who wants to say something. I already know what you think about pretty much every issue. I can tune into FOX too.

...so why to you keep posting? I thought you were interested in developing actionable solutions to the society's problems. Continuing to max out Daddy's credit card isn't a sustainable solution. At some point you need to grow up and stand on your own two feet.

Do you really believe that of the general public or do you just wish it was true? Honest question, not a dig.

None of those things will ever come from the likes of you. You ARE the problem.

Not all of them. I think the tide can be changed and people that otherwise would simply follow the next shiny thing mindlessly over a cliff can change direction but it will take something even shinier to make them turn their heads. Personally, I think people like them should all be lobotomized because of the danger they pose to the rest of us but they can be turned to useful idiots for either side. The general public as Hitler described them, are not the brightest lot but willing and able to be unwitting pawns to be used by either side of any conflict. It's just a question of which side has the shinier object to wave in front of their faces.

I would be happy to stop paying taxes...if you think that's the problem. Oh wait, you'll still take my money, right?

I'm sure you would. Taxes support everything this country does. Why would you want to be apart of that? You could always live elsewhere? Nothing is keeping you here. Right?
