Joe...I asked you in another thread (no answer) what your plan is to get our fiscal house in order...

Raise taxes? Cut spending? Devalue debt via inflation? Nationalize private assets? ...or do you feel we don't have a debt problem? Is it sufficient to keep debt level as a percentage of GDP?

What, in your estimation, will bring our revenues inline with our investments (aka "spending")?

 

My answer is that the debt and the deficit are only problems for you and your party when you are the ones not running it up. I never heard any of you complain about the Bush years nor the Reagan years or any other repuke in office but if you look at the growth of the debt, you can't deny that it grew significantly faster under the likes of Bush and Reagan and HW in the last 30 years. But NOW you want me take the question of the debt seriously from the likes of you and your ilk. I just have to shake my head and wonder what the hell goes on in yours.
If intellectualizing your hatred of the other side makes you feel better, I have no wish to play along with your mental masterbations. You've probably been doing it for so long now, I would only be reinforcing your delusions anyway. I don't hate the other side as much as I am disgusted by their point of view from their privileged perch. It's easy to look down of folks that have had a harder row to hoe and feel the comfort of your warm surrounds and simply blame them all. It's more difficult to look at them say this is wrong and there should be something we can do about it.

 

How to put word down without bothering to answer a question. The onliest answer I can read out of that is your best plan get our fiscal house in order would be for the Republicans to quit complaining. Somehow I think that would get us in a deeper hole.

I don't support deficit spending regardless of party...never have. Back to the topic...what's your plan for balancing the budget and eventually reducing the debt? ...or don't see it as a problem?

President Obama signed a Debt Limit into law. Do you think that law should be changed to allow greater deficit spending? What's your position?

Neugebauer was there as more WWII veterans were allowed to visit the memorial because the Park Service has decided the vets are exercising their First Amendment rights. “No, it’s because the government won’t do its job and pass a budget,” the cyclist countered.

In the background, another voice can be heard taking Neugebauer’s side: “The House did their job, they passed appropriations. The Senate hasn’t.”

Enough of this BS already. Most Democrats should be able see the truth that there is no conversing, no negotiating, with a party that doesn't reciprocate.

Time to ignore the bastards and make America a better place, not just for us, but even for the little bastards trying their best to make America crumble. We don't need to crush them, we're better than that...IMO. What we need to do is focus on what we CAN do, which is inform the public of where we stand on issues and work hard to get Democrats elected. Only then, with a majority of Democrats on office, will we have the ability to put this childish nonsense of party-politics aside and work towards making America stronger.

The republicans have given up on making America stronger (they want it privatized, meaning more $$$ for those that have connections, and as such the poor are @#$%ed) and it's up to us to focus on what needs to be done to improve the lives of not just us Democrats, rich and poor, but even the republicans rich or poor, who simply don't have the ability anymore to actually run a government in a responsible and selfless manner the way we can.

Vote Democrat the next election folks, if you want a period of growth and prosperity in America again.

All you need to know about which policies will cause the economy to "crumble" is to look at the states...

 

It's so nice living in a salmon-colored stated as opposed to a vermillion-colored state like (shudder) Illinois or a crimson-colored state like (heaven help us) New York or California.

 

Ca has been in a budget crisis for 20 years. It's not changing now, regardless of budgets passed nationally or stateside.

 

Oh, but RB was just bragging about how well the CA budget has been eliminated under their new governor.

 

In my state we can't run a deficit. It's been in our state constitution since the beginning. We have what they call a "rainy day fund" to cover revenue short falls. In the 90's we were a test site for subsidized health care called "TennCare" which was modeled off what Hillary was proposing. The state had to defer building maintenance, shut down a few state parks, and when the fund was down to a couple hundred million, we shut down TennCare. That resolved the problem.
