Obama said this on June 15, 2009: “No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people,” President Obama told the American Medical Association. “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.” But, wait: Home Depot sends 20,000 employees into Obamacare Home Depot is transferring roughly 20,000 part-time workers to the taxpayer-funded Obamacare exchanges, marking another step in the nationwide rollout of President Barack Obama’s most prized accomplishment. “Unfortunately, the ACA [Affordable Care Act] precludes us from offering the limited liability medical plan we’ve been offering the part-time associates,” said Stephen Holmes, the company’s director of corporate communications. The 20,000 employees will have more options on government-run exchanges, he told The Daily Caller. Home Depot Inc. employs roughly 340,000 people, but declined to give a precise number of people who will be impacted by the change. The government-run exchange requires people to buy insurance for a government-designed set of health-care services, including services promoted by corporate lobbies. The insurance packages can be more expensive than sought by workers, especially younger workers, but the extra costs are partially offset by subsidies from other taxpayers. Home Depot’s current limited liability plan allows part-timers to get critical health-care coverage at low cost. Home Depot’s founder, Bernie Marcus, is a strong critic of the government network. ”Obamacare is going to kill off small business,” he said this year The move comes one day after Walgreens announced it would transfer 160,000 workers to the taxpayer-funded Obamacare programs. The accelerating shift of workers to Obama’s taxpayer-funded network will likely drive up costs to taxpayers, disadvantage companies that try to pay for their employees’ health-care and make more voters dependent on health-care decisions made by Democratic officials and legislators. The switch is also making a mockery of Obama’s promise that Americans would be able to keep their pre-Obamacare insurance if they prefer. Here is a list of another 600,000 employee who are loosing their health care. http://www.businessweek.com/news/20...in-exodus-to-obamacare-like-private-exchanges
That's something those employees need to take up with their employer. If only they had unions there.....
Don't be an idiot! Well, I'm sure the choice to be an idiot was made for you a long time ago by your parents but even you know that unions are not calling for repeal, they are asking for fixes. This crazy insane Right-wing stretch of the truth is completely a self-serving lie you are peddling. Even if you can find one union somewhere calling for actual repeal, it certainly wouldn't represent the vast majority of unions. A feeble old brain like yours is a waste.
The 20,000 employees will have more options on government-run exchanges, he told The Daily Caller. The poor bastards!
The public exchanges being set up under the law will allow individuals to buy government-subsidized healthcare based on income. Enrollment begins on Oct. 1. Until now, many restaurants and retailers offered workers limited liability plans that often provided less than $5,000 in coverage. So they are getting BETTER coverage? Hum? The scandal!
OOPS! http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapot...ds-to-be-repealed-if-union-demands-arent-met/ http://www.reagancoalition.com/articles/2013/20130417005-union-repealed.html
WOW! Millions loosing their coverage (despite Obama's promises that everyone could keep it), millions getting their hours cut, unions demanding it be "fixed" (or, ito, repealed), as much as 70% of the public against it, but RB still beating the drums for it. Good luck!
What I was getting at is it isn't obamacare that is making those employees lose their current coverage. It's the employers who decided to go with obamacare to save themselves money. Isn't that what you guys call capitalism? Obamacare isn't forced upon employers. But employers force it upon employees. See the difference? Capitalism at work. You get what you sew.
So, the employers (greedy capitalists that they are) save money by pushing the employees into a system that you and I will pay for (the insurance pool). Are you telling me that Obamacare was envisioned (and now implemented) as a way to save money for the greedy capitalist employers?
Everything is Obama's fault. Don't you know that? (Note: sarcasm, apparently rimmer doesn't get sarcasm) How are "WE" paying for it?
Where does the money for the subsidies come from if not the tax payers? This is a question because I don't really know. End game here is single payer. We all know it. Obama has said it himself.
Do you remember during the last election when Republicans accused Obama of robbing Medicare of like 500 billion dollars even though it was actually savings? That and savings realized by preventative medicine, the 80-20 rule, and several other changes that save billions. Do you know what the real problem Republicans have with Obamacare? It isn't that it will kill jobs, or raise insurance rates, or destroy the planet and this arm of the Milky Way as they claim, it is that people will find out that it is a good thing and the Republicans will again be on the wrong side of history. If Obamacare was this horrible Democrat created nightmare, Republicans would sit back and watch it bring down the Democrats for several election cycles. The Republicans certainly have shown over and over that they are willing to bring this country down to achieve their agenda and why would this be any different? They are afraid people will like Obamacare plain and simple.
And that is why the Obama paradigm of medical care is cutting back services DUE TO THE REDUCED FEES FROM OBAMACARE.
