Yes. I wish some of the liberal pro-Obamacare members of this forum would kindly explain exactly WHY the unions are turning against Obamcare.

Our union isn't for it's repeal. But our union members won't be effected by it either.

Oh! Believe me they are ALL affected - a lot! You/their tax bills will go up dramatically even if nothing else. See http://jeffduncan.house.gov/full-list-obamacare-tax-hikes

My medical isn't provided by my union, but rather my employer and comes out before taxes. We've been sent notice nothing will change for us. Therefor our union is not effected and neither for or against the bill. Their words.

Pennsylvania's GOP Governor Flips To Support Obamacare Medicaid Expansion: Reports

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett may be the 10th Republican governor to back a Medicaid expansion in his state under President Barack Obama's health care reform law, according to reports.

"We hate it! We hate it! Sure we'll take Obamacare."

It's not about what I believe, it's fact, rlm. Less than 25% of employees with healthcare will actually be effected by this. I know it's hard for a retiree to grasp, but it's pretty basic.

Assuming you don't have any dividends, don't drive a car, don't take any new drugs, don't get any "devises" installed in you body, don't use a flexible medical spending account, don't use any tanning services, etc. then you might not be affected. I really do not know anyone who fits that category, but apparently you do.

I think I lost you, rlm. My coverage is not going over to obamacare, so all the things you listed is covered as it has been in the past for me. No change in insurer, policy coverage, benefits, premiums.....nothing. I'm not a fan of the bill by any means so what you say I can agree with for those that will be effected and forced onto the plan. I'm just saying I'm not one of those people. Truthfully, I worry about my parents coverage and how it might effect them as retirees.

You obvious did not even look at the link I gave you in post #5 let alone read it. I said, "You/their tax bills will go up dramatically even if nothing else." That is a list of TAXES raised by the Obamacare bill. You may well be correct that your health costs/insurance is not directly controlled by Obamacare, but the costs will go up just to cover the taxes the bill is now charging for different medical services. Makes great sense, doesn't it? The government taxes your medical services to pay for your medical services. That is nothing but a way to make you more dependent on the government.

Well we're paying billions for the uninsured now so I guess we won't come out ahead regardless.

I just love this talking point from the Right that says unions want the ACA repealed. Haven't heard them say that yet. They do not like the aspect of the law that adversely affects their members but repeal? Hardly.

This massive change to health care in the United States was initially passed with the full knowledge that it would take some tweaking along the way just like Social Security was when it was enacted. You can go back and find these statements by just about anyone involved.

I find it interesting that Obama is always characterized as a pawn of the unions and yet we have both parties disagreeing about an issue ans of course being mischaracterized by the Right-wing.

The truth is that Obama ran twice on the issue of changing the health care system. Once before it happened and once after the law was passed and he won handily both times.

This obsession the Right has with getting rid of the law and replacing it with nothing is just crazy people driving the crazy bus to crazy town where Ted Cruz has just been re-elected the crazy town mayor.
